It won't affect ROC, but if you switch jobs while ROC is processing (like I did) it's much easier to use DL + unrestricted SSC than it would have been to use expired GC + NOA and explaining what it all means. Since ROC takes over a year, it's my recommendation to get it done before the GC expires.

    Hi everyone,

I'm pleased to inform you all that hubby has gotten his greencard. We went for the interview a week ago and...viola...the card has landed in our mailbox.

The interview was pretty fast. The officer just read out some questions in the i485 form for my hubby to respond to. He also asked some questions pertaining to dates.

After the interview, the egov casetracker changed multiple times. I will list all the status we saw on the casetracker after we had the interview:

    1. New Card Is Being Produced
    2. Case Was Approved
    3. Card Was Mailed To Me
    4. Card Was Picked Up By The United States Postal Service
    5. Card Was Delivered To Be By The Post Office.

So in summary, it took us 8 months after filing for greencard to get it. And it took us 5 months to get the work permit and travel authorization.

I actually thought it will take more than one year for our case to be adjudicated by the USCIS Dallas Field Office. I'm glad it took less than that.

So for all Texas Filers, be hopeful. You'll get your interview soon enough.

    Cheers.

LivFavor got a reaction from AFCF in Using Old Existing Profile to Schedule a K1 Visa Interview?
    ***UPDATE***

Hi Guys, we followed through as adviced. My fiance scheduled a K1 Interview using his previous profile.

The challenge that resulted was that his old DS-160 form which he used to schedule a B1/B2 Visa was what was showing on his appointment letter when he finally scheduled an interview date. And he couldn't change it to the recent DS-160 form number on his own.

We had to write to ustraveldocs and they changed it asap.

So we are good to go!

    Thanks

PS: We had to post this so that others with similar case as ours won't make the huge mistake of not correcting the DS-160 number. This is because they will be turned back at the embassy. The DS-160 number on the Appointment Letter should match with the number on the filled DS-160 form confirmation page.

The timeline for EAD and AP are the same for everyone. This is because it is being processed in the same office...The National Benefit Centre (NBC).

    Awesome.

My hubby did too and it has been approved. So he can work and travel out of the country while we wait for the interview.

The EAD and AP application timeline is the same for every filer regardless of the person's residence. That's a consolation for we Texas filers.

    Hi Texas residents,

I noticed many filers from some States get scheduled pretty fast. Texas seem to be pretty slow. I also don't seem to see comments from Texas filers, especially those who filed this year. So I decided to create this thread so we can all talk about our experiences, frustrations and successes.

Here are a few stats for Texas filers. There are five (5) field offices in Texas (El Paso, Harlingen, San Antonio, Dallas and Houston). I arranged them in the order of processing time with El Paso having the fastest processing time and Houston having the least. Currently there are 17,256 pending cases with Houston and they only process an average of 1730 cases per month and they receive 1130 cases per month (do the math).

I and my hubby are with Dallas Field Office which is almost as slow as Houston.

    The wait continues.

The Austin you saw on the website under Houston Field Office is a county. That's not the popular Austin metroplex. The website uses Zip Code and Counties to search for nearest Field Office and not metroplexes or cities. Perhaps that's what caused the confusion.

Well lets be positive. It could be possible to get adjudicated within less than a year. God is in control.

Hope everyone is near to get the visa soon. My interview will be in 2 weeks and I can't wait to have this part of my life behind my back. The medical is done and I got all the papers ready.

This process has been so stressful so far, I just wanted to send some positivity to everyone here. This forum was very useful for me in the beggining and being part of this community helped me a lot copping with the stress.

Hello fellow Marchers we had our interview on Friday the 16th (my birthday) and our visa was approved. For everyone still waiting for the NOA2 I feel you ❤️ keep your head up it is almost over. I was able to attend with my fiance in London no problems. For all London appointments you may park at the Waitrose free with purchase but be aware that over 2 hours says 90 pound charge. The interviewer asked 2 or 3 questions and they only wanted my affidavit and employment letter (I had all paystubs and tax returns and w2 forms available but they only took the letter). We had to wait outside in a very long line then another longer line inside until we went up the 2nd floor. I would suggest getting there early as our appointment was 10am and we got there by 9.20 and didnt make it upstairs until after 10 (wasnt a problem though).
