K1 Visa Interview Appointment - Nigeria

Hi all,

 

So I checked the status of my immigrant visas case number and it has gone from "In Transit" to "Ready"! Now my question is, what are the next steps. I've been looking everywhere and it doesn't seem so clear ( when is it ever). My fiance things we should wait until he gets some form of communication from the consulate before doeing anything else. Apparently we need the letter from them before he can even do the medical? 

 

Basically, from any one of your experience, what should we do at this point (besides get our documents ready - I 134, etc)?

From my research so far, I don't think d embassy in Naija must send ur beneficiary any interview invitation letter for K1.

 

Your fiance should just go ahead and fill d DS-160, get his/her police certificate, pay her visa fee, schedule an interview and go for her medicals.

 

Make sure d medicals is scheduled in such a way dat upon picking d result she takes Dem to the interview same week.

Thanks for your advice! Why does the medical have to be within a week of the interview? I've read it must be at least 10 days.🤔

It mustn't be a week anyway but not weeks before d interview date.

***UPDATE***

 

We ended up emailing the consulate on the 19th of October and got an interview invitation in  email on the 26th of October!
