led reacted to Gaiden79 in My daughter is still in the Philippines, but I'm petitioning my wife
Yeah my passport will show that I was there living in the Philippines at least 1 year before she was born and about 7 months afterwards until I returned to the US.
Yes they will want to know the reason I am not going to be there? Thanks.

led reacted to qtime in K2's Approved
Took both girls to there interview today. The interview took 5 minutes for 18yr old and 3 minutes for the 10 yr old. The 18 yr old was sworn in and asked the questions on her paperwork and they just wanted to see her old passport. Then she was told she was approved for her 10 yr gc. The 10 yr old was asked her age, date of birth, what grade she was in and asked for her old passport and said she was approved. Did not ask to see anything else.
The interesting thing was when I asked if she needed my paystubs that I got the rfe for. She said everyone is getting an rfe for that. But said no they are approved.
The only question asked of me was why we waited five years and she said no problem that you are correct that you need to due it before they are 21.
The co was very nice and professional.

led reacted to CJlove in CR1 joint account inquiry
You will need to meet 125% poverty guideline as listed on NVC. If not, you’ll need a sponsor like me (joint sponsorship). You can start getting ready by looking at the affidavit form. At least look at it so it gives you a general idea to what to prep for in your future application process. All the necessary informations are on this website:

led reacted to Kathryn41 in VJ Trend Change
I joined in 2006 and as Maven pointed out, it has been the same all the way through. I have noticed though that the mean-spiritedness tends to go in waves, usually when members become more familiar with the site and start to interact less cautiously with other members. We can get so focused on our own immigration situations and our own problems that we lose sight of the fact that others share these concerns. We also become more knowledgeable due to our longer 'journeys' and become less tolerant of those who don't have our degree of awareness about what this process involves.
It takes a special sort of person who is able to answer the newcomer questions over and over and over and not become frustrated because the questions don't really change - just the person asking them. Of course we want to jump on the bandwagon and tell them to read the guides/wiki/pinned threads or do a search, etc. but it is often these newcomers who are still not familiar with Visa Journey who need a kind and helping hand to get them 'started'.
Some of the experienced members are able to do this very well indeed, and others never really find that 'helping' vibe. It is the same way in life itself: some people are kind and nice and helpful, and some people aren't.
The best solution I have found is to try and not be part of the problem myself. If I can 'help', I'll help. I try to take everyone at their word, recognizing that they have their own troubles and worries and concerns and do the best I can to be gentle and helpful. As far as I'm concerned, there are really no stupid questions asked about the immigration process except the ones that need to be asked and aren't. Our members are great at pointing out where those questions may lie, and while it would be nice if they all could phrase their responses with kindness and clarity, sometimes you will get bluntness instead. As long as it doesn't attack the other person with insults, innuendos or judgements then sometimes it is best just to remember that we are all different and thank them for taking the time to provide the requested information.

led reacted to John & Rose in Proof Cr1 visa
The CO realizes that is is very difficult, if not impossible, to have shared bank accounts without both being in the states. I can’t be on an account in the Philippines and she can’t be on an account in the states. No way to have shared property. I was able to get Rose and the kids on my work health insurance. Rose has changed her name on her passport. There isn’t a lot we can do right now but I hope that these small things will work for us.

The very best evidence you can provide is that of time together. How many years? Are you and your spouse living together or apart? In addition, any legal documentation which is generated during a legitimate marriage is vital, imo. It doesn't have to specifically be joint accounts and property, but those are good evidence.
Every case is unique. Immigration authorities look at the total picture in every case. For example, if you and your spouse have had no time together in several years (which has been the situation in some cases here), I would expect a lot of scrutiny.....

Try this too. Look at the I-130 IR/CR visa process.
http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/index.html
Affidavit of support is down the line a bit. First the petition needs to be approved by USCIS. They send it to NVC. Eventually you are scheduled for an interview. You will bring the financial documents at that time.

The requirements needed to file a CR1 petition are the same across the board the only time it differentiates is when it gets to the embassy.
I am trying to link them but my computer is being slow this morning for some reason.
