    I respectfully disagree.

I don't want @mochitw to receive an RFE like so many others have received.  I'm 99% sure they will send an RFE if they don't do the following:

Please ask your fiancé to get a certified copy of the charges from the court and sent the original to USCIS.  There will be stamps and seals on this document.  Just marking the box is not enough.  USCIS wants to see the final disposition of any criminal charge that is not a minor traffic offense.

What do you disagree with? I said they should submit it if they can. The main thing is that they have checked the correct box, a RFE isn't the end of the world.

Again, OP has been honest in their application and there wont be a problem, but a RFE can occur if they don't submit the court record with the application, and then they have to submit it after getting a RFE. I'm trying to let OP know that the criminal record isn't something to worry about in terms of obtaining a visa, it's not something that is going to get them denied because the crime is not as severe or frequent enough.

    Hi everyone
Me and my bf is going to apply K1 visa
He is US citizen (sponsor) and I’m Taiwanese (beneficiary).
There’s a part of I129 form is asking about sponsor’s criminal record.
My bf was caught drunk driving when he was 20 years old. Which is 30 years ago.
He got caught when he was almost home and was sent to jail for 1 night.
Should we worry about this record ? He wrote what exactly he done on i129 form but does he need to apply police criminal record to file with the forms?
Will this become a serious problem on our K1 application?
    Thank you.

If he can easily obtain the record it would be good to include it in the application to avoid a potential RFE. Other than that, you've been honest in your application and there won't be a problem.

I'm not to sure :( my boyfriend starts in late September. I was brainstorming and came up with the idea to file in February 2020 or March? Because when I visit him in October next year I want him to come back with me. So I have to wait and see. When I know I'll definitely do that. Thanks for the other info you gave me :)

Applying sooner than later would be best. He has 6 months from his visa medical date to use the visa. If you apply in Feb or March there's a chance he wont have his visa in time for October. Just something to think about, you could consider applying sooner.

I have heard that but I have seen a lot of people submitting texts so I just thought I'd see what others think.

And to be clear I wasn't going to give gorey detials to them or anything. My text messges are just far from normal text. It's not inappropriate or anyting. Thank you so much for your input I appreciate it :)

No worries, you're going to be fine :).

Hello everyone I'm still doing research and trying to learn the process. So when I'm ready to file it goes smoothly. I'm not sure when that will be since my boyfriend is still in school for one more year. He starts his last year in the fall.

My question is my boyfriend and I met on a kink website. I know I can't be dishonest. I have to tell them where we met. So will that hinder us?

I also noticed I don't call him by his name. And our text are way different than what people usually text their lovers. I don't want to get too personal or trigger anyone on what the nicknames are or what our lifestyle is.

I have read that text are not a requirement but still. I'm wondering will they think we are very strange and deny us for our personal lifestyles?

I know I am a weird person and I'm perfectly okay with that. But I really don't want my personal life effecting my boyfriend moving here. I'm hoping they can look past the weirdness and see our relationship is genuine. If I thought about it 4 years ago I would have been more carful.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I apologize if this question was common sense or just silly. I wish everyone luck in whatever process they are doing.

You never need to submit any screenshots of messages. They don't need to know the ins and outs of your lifestyle, just that you're a genuine couple.

Ah! I interpreted it as need anyone of those single documents. I submitted copies of my previous EADs, passport and US visas.

I included my passport ID page and US visa too, alongside my marriage certificate to show my name change for each form. I only submitted my birth certificate with the I-485.

My last update was 'Fingerprint review was completed' on July the 9th.

I had my Biometrics appointment July 15 - I did a walk-in on July 11 my case status just says:

    Fingerprint fee received  June 21,2019

Is it suppose to update with something else after you have the biometrics done? been a month so.... lol

Sometimes it's not updated until it's ready for interview. Some people get an update and others don't.

I expedited it, it is very fast, it took me a week to gather the documents to prove the need, but after you faxed the documents it is a matter of 6 days to be approved and to get your status changed to card producing, 3 days later it changed to card has been mailed and they give you the tracking #

Did they give you the combo card so it includes AP too? I'm just curious if they do that when you expedite one.

I don't think this is the normal but I recently saw on here someone move from Pennsylvania I think, to Seattle (did address change with USCIS) and their interview was scheduled in Buffalo... Their interview notice was also sent to old address but a family member still lived there to receive it luckily.

No matter what USCIS tells you with the address change, i think occasionally it's still a gamble.

I agree that it's a gamble. I think all people who change their addresses should make several inquiries to ensure the address is changed in the system. Also, is mail forwarding a thing here (genuine question)? Assuming it is, people should take advantage of that when they move.

If you were to move to another state and let UCSIC know on their website is the case moved to another state or does it stay in the one you initially lived in while filing? And would it make things move slower?

Moving to a new state would then mean processing will be via the new state and their timeline. This could significantly cut down interview wait times, or make it slower. It just depends on the field office you move to.

I was wondering if its OK to apply for jobs before u got EAD...i have been applying for jobs thru job portal sites.

one of my friend recently told me tht his lawyer suggested not to do so.

Is thr any problem in doing so ?

I have circulated my resume to various places already but hearing to him now making me lil nervous ..tht i might not did anything wrong 😕

I don't think there's any harm. It's not like you are working. If anyone were to ask, just explain the situation truthfully: If you got a job offer you would apply to expedite EAD. If the expedite was rejected, you wouldn't work.
