  1. Example of the link that goes to the form: https://www.uscis.gov/i-864 It is to be known that the joint sponsor need to know up front that they'll be responsible for you (they need to read the whole form and instructions too to see what's going on) if you screwed up or use government assistance, but I'm not aware of how often this happened.
  2. Yeah but that was just a banter nothing I ever said asking for help about it. I also mentioned they got everything that they need for it to be a real ID. So let's stop this talking here if you wanna continue just send the DM.
  3. Ok so I do fill out this form and scan - email the items back to him I guess. Thanks, just wanted to be sure. What should I put down for Citizenship/Immigration Status on the I-9 Form page 2 on the top right?
  4. I think you're talking about me (USC) which isn't what I'm talking about on this thread. But if you insist of replying to me and I have to reply to you about it; I never mention real ID is for citizen only. I know that. I'm also pointing out the DMV have everything I gave to apply for.
  5. Howdy all. We're located in TN and my Husband work from home as their HQ is from FL. I want to make sure I'm not overthinking or overlooking something but my Husband brought it up to me saying that I need to take care of it... I'm not sure why I need to if he not understanding? Or I may be confusing myself. I'm not a notary, but I'm a USC while my Husband came here to the states thru K-1 Visa and got his 2 year green card, but no updated physical green card yet as they just keep sending him renewal letters saying his green card has been extended. So I do fill this out? I'll share the email of what was sent to him: So when I checked the attachment in the email, it displayed page 2 (instead of 1 and 2 - is this an error on their part?) of the form I-9, and on another page it mentions this: In List A I think we could do #2 (in form of ID request on Form I-9): Permanent Resident Card or Alien Registration Receipt Card (Form 1-551) using his green card and extension letters?
  6. As far I'm aware, you can update it when you go to renew it. If you try to update it now, might be good if you need the real ID but other than that it's just wasting money. I don't recall hearing anything about the fee being waived. As a USC, I find it frustrating that they gave me the non-real ID. They have all of my required info on file so I don't get it and it piss me off. LOL.
  7. Right. I think they stopped a contract with one of the green card production service and then no one getting physical card anymore. But I could be wrong... but it does seem like the processing center went down hill as they shifted the employee to work in other areas instead. Maybe I'm just feeling hopeless about the whole moving on thing that didn't seem to be ok.
  8. Hey all. I forgot to post when I had an update and now here I am. April 11th got a mail from USCIS. Didn't arrive on the day, so it ended up showing up in the mailbox April 12th. It's an extension letter, but no physical card. Filing Naturalization this year and it seems like that will be finished before the card production arrive.
  9. It's all good. Finally got into the Hubby's health plan and it's doing well. Thanks for some info and all that. Thread can be locked.
  10. Usually a few office have different prices around $25-$50 per visit and then anything else get added in will be billed, so idk what those bills will be. Don't think it's a thing to mention it when I'm gonna be omw to another insurance at the time I was not insured.
  11. I gave the proof of notice that I left my previous job before March 1st as my Husband forwarded the info on Feb 27th. I'm not remembering if I've selected such plan before that, but if I did, it probably ended up rolling over in March for them to process it anyway. I generally don't care about when I should quit. I do it at my peace before I go off turning into a monster if you get it how mentally insane it'll be. If I can be left alone about it I'll be fine. Please.
  12. No idea. Something about their policy and I have no idea. So I'm really having to wait. & found out I don't qualify for Tenncare and any of that because of being over the income limit. That's fine. But waiting for 3 more weeks...ugh. But it's also no different that many jobs I worked at follow the same thing, they make you wait until the next whole month. Maybe it's just TN state idk. Enrolling in COBRA cost wayyy more than going out of pocket. I'm not gonna go for that tbh.
  13. Nah he had the job several months back. When I left my job on the 24th, my health insurance from my job ended on the 28th. Then I gave my Husband a copy of my notice that I left my work that they supplied for me so he could gave it to his HR and his HR opened up the enrollment so I'll be able to have health insurance on his plan. [Already on dental/vision on his plan, we was on my health insurance plan because it was better.] & thanks all, I wasn't sure so I had to ask. & thx for moving it to the correct forum section. I'll be on my way to go check out Tenncare! I had to ask because a lot of doc was telling me to get on it and go. & I also heard a lot of good things about it. It'll be our first child. I had no idea this pregnancy tired me out so much!
  14. Found out I'm preg a few weeks ago, only was able to visit the doc 1 time. Idk if I need to go sooner or wait until April 1st when my Husband's health insurance kick in? I walked out of my job Feb 24th, lost of energy, boredom, more lost of energy and have no idea why... then like 2 weeks later I'm found and confirmed preg. I'm not sure if I can also get on Tenncare? I'm in TN and I'm the USC. Not sure if that will make any concern for my Husband's immigration status.
  15. You can always include a letter that you realized a mistake and is working to amend the tax return to make correction. That'll give them less time to worry about. I agree with @beloved_dingo his comment is on point.
  16. Well since they are planning to get married, I'd use the term "Wife" carefully because it may give the wrong idea to the CPB but to rather use Fiance or GF? Just a thought...?
  17. Driving through the ceremony with the long limo is cool, but a jeep limo is even cooler!
  18. Well yes they can file MFS if under certain condition. https://www.irs.gov/publications/p504 And no, I'm not using the term interchangeably. I've seen it within the last 2 months of filing taxes for other. It's dangerous for me to let other file illegally as they wish because as a tax preparer if you file it wrong and the IRS find out the IRS get to mark you up with the fee. I'm not going to file thing wrongly for others. Screw that. But it's not just that, the IRS look at all kinds of things too. https://www.irs.gov/payments/tax-preparer-penalties Also, if a filer MFS is using Itemized Deduction, the other MFS also need to file itemized as well. It isn't 1 standard and the other itemized. https://www.irs.gov/faqs/itemized-deductions-standard-deduction/other-deduction-questions/other-deduction-questions It is usually better for MFJ though. Ok so in order not to go-off topic - Tax questions always can be found online or to other CPA available. I hope OP get the understanding of what they need.
  19. So if I'm reading this right, you're both married since 2017, never been separated, right? That means yall should have been filing as Married Filing Jointly (MFJ). Not that the fact it's giving IRS free money back (or some cases, you will owe under a certain condition, so be prepared for that) but you're also not doing it right because when you're required to submit your tax returns to the USCIS, they look at the tax form and see if you are filing MFJ. Anything else will be in a question. So to help you get started and prepare, find a really good CPA that help correct these. You'll type out the question/situation, copy and paste and find CPA that will work with you on this. On the backstory I've seen some people file as Single to take advantage of more money back than to file MFJ and that is an exploit, but it doesn't mean it's right. Anyway, to also help you out of what you'll want to do is go to the IRS website and request transcript all the way back to 2017. Get all of the copies of it. Then when you finally find the good CPA, you'll bring all the files with you (keep it organized!) and give them to the CPA. https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript So yes, you should have been filing with him as MFJ regardless if you worked or not, got unemployment, etc. The fun part - It can be fixed. They can 'amend' for correction, and then once completed the amend and the result of that helps with your case. Doing the right thing help you move forward from the mistake. Notice: I'm not a CPA, and was a Paid Tax Preparer for a couple of months. Other than that, I've filed with my Husband MFJ all these years and I file for ourselves mostly except 1 year I gave my 2016 tax situation to a paid preparer due to weird 'health insurance marketplace' situation. But this should be easy to fix for CPA.
  20. I think you're confusing yourself... Take step and identify the proper term. I tried looking at your timeline but you don't have anything there?
  21. Yeah some people can't but some may lie and get the benefits. Usually that are found as fraud of some type. https://www.ussc.gov/research/quick-facts/government-benefits-fraud This doesn't say if the applicant was USC or not. I'd assume most are USC. I've seen some of insurance fraud in my state at least. Edit: I over looked. 83.0% were United States citizens.
  22. Mostly, but... You'd be surprised how many election fraud goes on. Death of family voting, more than 1 voting per person, and even voters at the voting poll does not know who is not a Naturalized Citizen doing votes. People get confused. Some don't realize some who have a felony also lost their ability to vote as well, so yes US Citizen can lose their voting rights... and er, more. By all means, I'm not a fan of political stuff. I just have to keep an eye out on things that are needed to be known. However, those of a US Citizen had lost their ability to vote may get their voting rights back if they apply under circumstances. References: https://www.usa.gov/who-can-vote https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/policy-manual-updates/20210527-VoterRegistration.pdf https://www.uscis.gov/citizenship-resource-center/new-us-citizens# https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-12-part-f-chapter-5 Section M. On the salty side, many US Citizen does not go out to vote as they decided it was not worth it. Not to cause any confusion - sorry.
  23. Sadly, this is a common issue that nobody knows how it works in the US that a selected few are only allowed to vote. The cancel vote paper should be good - I'd think that would. I did read upon and told my Husband not to sign up nor accidentally sign up to vote, and to watch out for those 'fine prints'. More like a lecture a several times though because I'm dead serious! Lol. But truth be told, everyone I spoke to around me did not know this either. But they did not seem to care. It's a sad situation here in the US.
