I still strongly feel that patronymic should not ever make an appearance on any international document unless it is adapted into a proper middle name without "-ich" or "-evna" etc suffixes.

All of this is to say that I am a city person, and I know a lot of people aren't. It's okay! We can like different things.
Most American large cities are completely abhorrent, with some notable exception like NYC, Boston, Chicago that at least retained some basic grasp on need of functional public transportation system. Non-suburbia suburbs like the ones they have on Westcoast are a good compromise, but still have to contemplate "parking" every time you venture out to down downtown area is terrible. The systematic distraction of public transportation system, while also "ghettoizing" inner cities during the US "highway" revolution when automaker lobbies systematically destroyed light rail is one of biggest civil engineering crimes of the 20th century. Something that is country will be recovering for a long time, and entire planet will carry the environmental toll.

With the security questions.. they totally don’t apply because I have no credit record in the US. I moved here from Europe, so there is no history...
Ahh. Ok, that might be different. We got SSN and were able to open joint account, so maybe there was enough there to be able to create an account. If they were able to verify you at SSA you should be fine then. The Employer will have account already, and / or be enrolled in e-Verify, so they would not have security questions issue.

I called SSN Administration yesterday and they said that I am registered as "authorized to work" and they can't explain why this could not be verified.
No, we were able to do it online. Where exactly does it fail for you?

So where do the Squad fit?
With La Riva.
It is not that people shift, it is just we as society always move to the left, and to more liberal, some minor setbacks notwithstanding.

It took us 2 months from biometrics to the case is ready to be scheduled for interview. I got my EAD/AP without expediting and I'm fully aware that in SF field office, it takes 18 to 23 months to get the interview that's why I'm curious where @Shiran local office is. Not all office in CA as backlogged as SF. I have a friend from San Bernardino who got GC in 5 months.
San Diego.

I tried to do the e-verification via my USCIS online account, but it did not work.
That is what I meant by surprise. If it doesn't work for you, it won't for your Employer either. You need to provide more detail why it didn't work though. We were able to check and it returned green check mark for work Authorized using the "A" number.

Which of those did you pick when filling out? Do I need to choose 4 because I have not received the green card yet?
Since you do not have Green Card yet, and using SSN with EAD, Alien authorized for work is the most accurate for you. Your SSN still has restrictive wording on it, so 4 is by far most accurate. I also suggest you run e-Verify self check on yourself (free) to make sure there are no surprises. https://www.e-verify.gov/mye-verify/self-check

Post GC mini-update: Monday Sept 16, same day GC showed up in the mail visited both DMV and SSA office (in that order) to get Real ID DL and SSN card without "DHS Authorization required" wording. No issues at either office.
SSN card arrived Saturday, Sept 21. CA Real ID DL arrived Wednesday Sept 25. It is a proper Real ID card, expiring in 4 years, (2023, on the birthday as it usually goes with State IDs) This is good news, as it will be valid during the period when 2 year green card will need to be renewed. We are fully settled at least as far as bureaucracy aspects of immigration and state are concerned.
- Green Card, good for 2 years (2021)
- SSN, with no restrictions, good for life
- CA Real ID, good util 2023.

I can remember the days they assigned a new mod that knew none of us, and they would come in nightly and ban and delete everything in sight
With how liberally things get deleted here from my observation, I cannot imagine it changed much. Bans seems to be elimination of "wrong think" where "wrong" is appears to be heavily coloured by what the hammer's holder personal views are. Just an observation over the last year.

That in the world which is legal, and that which is moral, and these concepts do not always intersect.
Very much agree with that, and "morality" is a fluid, and very subjective target, that tends to very rough translate into "what is good for the society, even if is not great for the person" The main issue with it being, that "morality" tends to change slowly and not keep with advances in societies, often acting as an anchor. So you end up with simplistic views promoting giving birth, and then refusing to take a shred responsibility for bring a child into increasingly less suited for human life world. On the other hand, any line drawn after "conception" is rather arbitrary, as with medical advances, a fetus will become viable at earlier, and earlier, and earlier date. I stand by what I said, ideally, there should be very little need for abortions not because of their illegality, but because we, as society, will move away from the point where there is non-medical need to have them.

"Well, she used to be just your dad's friend but now she's going to be your stepmum"
In my, very inexperienced opinion, I do not believe there is a need to force an issues with a label. You will know you are "stepmum" when she call you "Mummy" Until then, just concentrate on being a friend and caretaker. Let things happen naturally when they will. Is she moving to CA?

I am sure you will find more enjoyable ways to kill braincells than watching debates while in the old country.

To get back on topic sorta, looks like Ms. Gabbard will be back at the podium for October debate. Probably 2 nighter again with 6 candidates per stage.

USCIS released 3rd quarter I-485 statistics. Yes, I realize that in upper right corner it says 2018, but this was published under 2019 data. Seems like backlog reduction all across the board including SF.

Underboob?
A prolapsing lump of usually human flesh or skin covered silicone or saline due typically insufficiently large garment that meant to both cover and hold it in place. Visible from the bottom. Sideboob is far more common and socially acceptable variation of it when skin is visible from the side of the body.

You should see the post I found yesterday when I was looking for something totally unrelated! Let's just say I now know where I can get a massage in Ho Chi Minh City where the masseuses sport a LOT of underboob.
What happens in regional forums, mostly stays in regional forums. Unless, there is barely enough containment, and overflow escapes and goes unreported.

I would guess some of those matters have less to do with "offending delicate sensibilities of gentle users" and more with this site, to the best of my knowledge, is entirely advertisement supported, and they do not want to be blacklisted by cruel AI from lucrative ad streams for too much flesh tone coloured images as that would directly affect revenue. I recall at least few invasions where out right soft porn was posted, and showed up on the title page as "recent images" That probably made for a fun night for mods/admins.

Of the handful of San Francisco filers I have located (by reviewing VJ Timelines), they have all taken between 180 to 210 days to receive EAD/AP. My AP status has been at "Case Received" for 196 days now. So hopefully my "hunch" is correct and within the next two weeks the waiting will be over. I did file an online inquiry on 9/6 with a promised response by 9/28. But no news yet.... Once I know anything, I will share here.
I haven't looked extensively, but I see some relatively fast approvals for EAD in SF.
https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=295552 for example.

This is very strange . I am very worried.
I wouldn't worry too much, out of all the forms, i-131 is probably the least relevant one. And, there is pretty good chance in your case Green Card will get approved before either EAD/AP, which would make the whole issue moot, since once GC is approved, the other 2 become not relevant. Which category you selected on I-131? 1.d I believe is the right choice.
Congressional reporters say the impeachment terrain is shifting

I think impeachment, especially impeachment at this point is a big mistake, unless, miraculously "Nixon Tapes" scenario unfolds, and they actually find something more substantial on "Trump Server" then Zelenskiy memo. Besides, even if it does happen, I, personally, am against it as I find VP Pence to be a lot less palatable than President Trump. Though I imagine Pence will be a lot easier to uproot in a year or so.
