Our AOS case status changed to interview was scheduled as of yesterday! We had to expedite our AP, and we contacted our congressman so I’m not sure if he had anything to do with it since we only asked for AP and nothing else, but happy nonetheless! Our field office is Holtsville, NY. I know many have longer timelines than we do and haven’t gotten updates, so I only pray for those that are in this long miserable process.

    Package Sent (I-485, I-765, I-131): 3/1/2019
    Received Date (for all): 3/6/2019

    Biometrics: 4/5/2019
AOS Status changed to interview ready to be scheduled: 4/10/2019

Had the aos interview today, didn’t get approved on the spot but was told how a conditional GC works and we would be notified in the mail of the final decision, but overall it seems to have gone okay. Our interview was done by what seemed like a new person because we had someone in the room observing him and taking notes on what he did/said. No really unusual questions pretty much went through our forms asked where we each respectively were born and date of birth. Then at the end after asking all the are you a communist/ working against the government question they asked if we would like to submit any additional information to show our marriage is legit. Apparently I provided more then enough, we brought our wedding album and he said this is great, it was a huge coffee table book so I kinda forced him to see but he didn’t have any doubts after seeing the album (or so I hope!) I told him I had more things but he said what I already gave was enough. Hopefully we get good news soon! Oo our timeline was March 8th filing date fingerprints in April and just had the interview.

Interview scheduled for May 22nd. YAYYY 💃🏾
However, I’m confused about the medical examination part. When I sent my package I sent the vaccination records and I believed I don’t have to do a new medical examination since I did one for my K1 visa in December 2018.
Do I have to do a medical examination again? 🤔

Thanks so much all of you for the input. If this is my situation which I hope not then I will have to request an expedite on the EAD. My military unit is one that can deploy anytime and I cannot leave if she has no finances, no id, etc.

    Hi!
I had troubles getting my SSN and ended up not getting one.
At first the worker told me I wasnt elegible for a SSN with my K1 visa, I went again a week after with evidence that I was elegible ( So I actually applied 1 month after POE). I waited 4 weeks went back to the office they told me to wait 2 more weeks. Went back after the 2 weeks but this was 15 days before my I-94 expired. She told me it was still at DHS and some days later they called me that they couldn’t give me a SSN because my I-94 was about to expire. And I have to wait until I receive either EAD or GC. Frustrating but real smh.
However, my husband is also in the military and he could get me a temporary military ID for 3 months without a SSN.

Just received my interview letter! It's scheduled for JUNE 6TH! Wohoo!
The letter says 'Request for applicant to appear for initial interview' - What do they mean by initial? Do we have another interview? Confused.

Anyone else find it EXTRA annoying when you put a comment about your USCIS status and someone always has to put

‘There are people from January 1989 still waiting so calm down’.

Yes Susan I am well aware of this as most of us here have been on the K1 or Spousal journey so we know how it works so calm yourself down, we are still allowed to talk about our case too 🙄🙄🙄🙄

Not been directed at me yet but I’ve seen it on others and man does it wind me up.

Rant over, have a nice evening y’all 😂😂😂😂

I didn’t send any of that for AOS packet either as it’s not needed. My post says they’re examples of evidence for the AOS interview to help some people out when it comes to the interview stage.

Hi guys, I randomly went to the library today out of boredom and stumbled across a book about fiancé and marriage visas! I read a passage about what we could bring to the AOS green card interview to prove the marriage is real and I found it helpful, so hopefully it can be to some of you. Some of us have already got scheduled interviews so this is the time to collect everything!  I know most of this is obvious but if it helps one person out there that would be great.

    Proof that your marriage is real;

The interview is often the first opportunity that the USCIS officer has to decide whether your marriage is 'for real'. The documents that you show are important factors in the decision. They should show that you and your spouse's lives are intertwined and that you trust each other with your financial and personal matters.

Below is a list of documents most immigrants present. However, this isn't engraved in stone. Use your imagination and be ready to do some organized 'show and tell'. No need to flood the officer with paper -- copies of 6 items from this list would be a reasonable amount.

rental agreements, leases, or mortgages showing that you live together and/or have leased or brought property in both spouses' names your mutual child's birth certificate or a doctor's report saying that one of you is pregnant utility bills in both your names joint bank statements joint credit card statements evidence that one spouse has made the other a beneficiary on his/her life or health insurance or retirement account auto registrations showing joint ownership and/or address joint club memberships receipts from gifts that you purchased for one another ( these should be typical gift purchases, such as jewelry, flowers, or candy) letters from friends and family to each or both of you mailed to your joint address photos of you and your spouse taken before and during your marriage, including photos from your wedding. (USCIS knows wedding pictures can be faked, but many officers enjoy seeing them anyway). The photos should, if possible, include parents and other relatives from both families. Write the date taken and a brief description of what the photo shows on the back (or underneath, if you're photocopying them). Don't bother with videos of the wedding or other events -- there won't be time or a space to view them

It says in parenthesis that if you haven’t submitted it already then you have to bring it with you. Most likely people brought this envelope with them at the POE and/or submitted it with I-485, so I would think it’s not required to be brought with you.

    Congratulations!!! Giving us all hope!!

Congrats! I have the same question too since my medical (the one I did in the UK which I sent with the AOS package) was valid at the time I sent in the AOS package but by the interview stage it’s going to be expired since it’s over 12 months... do I need to do the medical again??
  17. Thanks

My understanding (please correct me whoever already gone through this process!) that if USCIS requires I-693 they will send you "pink courtesy letter" explicitly requesting it. It is not same as RFE, as they do not want you to send it to them, but they do let you know you have to get one, and bring with you to the interview. I do not think it is same as what you got which is interview scheduling appointment. This is a sample of the aforementioned letter:

I think it’s a standard letter for everyone but yes, the second item that we must bring is the medical examination 🤔

Yes you do. It’s a different form tho, it’s form I-864. I recommend you to read the threads in March or April AOS so you can see other people experiences and get to know what you need.
