After 806 days, we finally got good new. She got her appointment letter last Wednesday night (for an appoinment today). Not much time. Luckily, she was still in Batangas. She was in there 2 hours. I will post her review when I get to speak with her later.
No my goal is to get her out of there before the vaccine mandate goes into affect for foreign travelers. I really prefer she gets vaccinated her. Thank you lord.
It took a long time cause she did not have my 2020 tax retrun. I filed an etension so will file on October 15. Her young daughter put it over the top by interrupting how much she love and miss her daddy.

The top one is your appointment letter. Present at embassy for entry.

But, you do have to present a medical certificate that you have no covid symptoms within 24 hours of arrival. Seems like he Covid test was easier and potentially less expensive.

I know they started as St Lukes. Anything for the embassy?

Saint Luke's Extension Clinic just announced MANDATORY completion of COVID vaccination before any medical will be issued in the Philippines. Pretty much putting to rest any speculation about what COVID vaccine policy will be going forward. No vaccine, no medical report. If it is a two dose vaccine both doses must be completed on schedule for a medical report to be issued.
There is also a new requirement for a negative RT-PCR test prior to any medical examination being done so that is another added expense. They do not mention the option of a much cheaper, faster antigen test. Coincidentally, Saint Luke's Extension Clinic is offering RT-PCR testing for a fee.
Not a concern to us as my wife did already get her vaccine and we have good documentation of that fact. However, I imagine some folks will be freaking out at this development.
Also, if an adult has to accompany a child, the adult as has to have a negative Covid test. They sent me an email confirming this.

Sorry to hear this. I'm probably not far behind you in having a similar order sent down on a K1 WoM. My lawyer suggested we withdraw it awhile back while offering nothing in return, having gone from "we never lose these cases" to "we're going to lose this case".
The central point they need to attack is if the state department withdrawing everyone when the vast majority of the world kept on working, just wearing masks or taking other precautions is really what needs to be done. I've worked with the public everyday through this mess, and needless to say if I had work from 2 years ago I hadn't finished yet, I wouldn't still be employed. Getting the government to admit it screwed up and exaggerated COVID is probably not possible for obvious political reasons.
Did you join the Ramirez vs Blinkin suit?

If you had been following our adventures, my fiancee and her daughter had been stuck in Manila because she kept testing COVID positive, and Cebu now requires a negative test to enter. They found a beach front apartment (literally, the beach comes right up to he door) in the Batangas area, a few hours south of Manila. She and her daughter love it, and will stay until they reschedule our interview. They catch fresh fish and crabs daily, and there are a few Americans with their wives, who decided just to stay when Covid hit. Her daughter has plenty of kids to play with and told me last night she never wants to lwave this place, but please wait for us in America (5 years old). All's Well, That Ends Well, at least this week.

Dear Mr.We are writing in response to your August 18, 2021 inquiry regarding the fiancee (K-1) visa case of Ms. o.Our records show that the applicants did not appear for their scheduled visa appointments on August 12, 2021.Ms. case has been queued again for scheduling. Our limited operations and volume of other priority cases preclude us from guaranteeing an immediate appointment for the applicants. You will be notified through the registered email address as soon as we are able to schedule you for an appointment.
Routine visa services remain suspended at this time due to precautions and limited resources related to the COVID-19 pandemic. We recently updated our website to clarify visa services that are currently operational. As conditions surrounding the COVID-19 situation improve, the Embassy will add additional services, culminating eventually in a complete resumption of routine visa services. Conversely, if local conditions continue to deteriorate, visa services may be further restricted. The Embassy cannot predict when the resumption of full visa services or a specific set of visa cases will resume.
We suggest that you continue monitoring our website at https://ph.usembassy.gov/visas/visa-updates/ or contact the Embassy’s Visa Information and Appointment Service at (+632) 8548-8223 or (+632) 7792-8988 regarding visa operations updates. We hope this information is helpful.

She got sick and went to the airport and tested positive rapid antigen test going back to Cebu. Daughter tested negative. They are at an off the grid hotel in Ermita near Robinsons since all of the online places require negative covid test. Rebooked her for next Tuesday. She is pretty miserable right now with fever.
She is going to try to go home tomorrow. She is feeling much better, Hopefully, she will test negative and get home.

Maybe click on the "Forgot your password?" link. Looking around there is no help line...of course.
Also, did you click the checkbox on the *I have read and understood the Privacy Policy do-hicky (technical term.)
Yes, even tried to change the password. It says it will send a link to my email but never does. Call the embassy? I can't listen to that music anymore.

I hope she feels better soon. It's really is difficult times. Hopefully she can lay low and just wait it out. If she cant go out and needs groceries metromart.com was a big help when my wife was stuck on travel quarantine. You can order online delivery from Robinsons Supermarket, S&R or other places in Manila.
Thanks. She has friend there taking care of her and her daughter. Also, they moved to an apartment just in case she is there for a while. However, she is starting to feel better. No fever for more than 24 hours so far.

Sorry to hear that, man. It's bad enough to be stranded in Manila, but to be sick while it's happening... Unfortunately, I know what that feels like from personal experience. You said you rebooked her for next Tuesday - is there not a certain amount of time the airport requires her to quarantine before she comes back? Is it just a week?
She told me they said 5 days, but good point I will double check.

Hopefully she got a receipt.
This is the typical nonsense I dealt with during the 3 months I was back there earlier this year. A population that is literally scared out of their minds. Even I was afraid to cough outside thinking the Covid police would drag me off to some quarantine facility on a basketball court telling me to stay put for 14 days.
SLEC should have the saliva antigen test on site. It’s what all of the donated money from the US and other countries was supposed to be used for. That and vaccines. However turns out all of the money disappeared and the country had to rely on donations.
Be careful though on the cough. If she coughs all the time, your biggest concern isn’t Covid, but having the doctors think she has TB.
She had a chest Xray just before she went. Just a mild Upper Respiratory Infection being treated with antibiotics

My fiancee and her 5yo daughter went to St Luke's to do the medical taking advantage of MECQ since they are closed during ECQ which could be reinstated at anytime. Anyway, her daughter had a slight cough (she always has some kind of cough) and they would not let her do the medical, yet they collected the money. Fyi, if you have any cough, sniffle, throat clearing, etc, the will not provide a medical exam.
They told her to come back in 2 weeks and she still has a cough, a negative Covid test will be required to proceed.

The price of rapid antigen testing in the Philippines is also now supposedly capped by law to P960.
My fiancee is in Manila now doing her medical (taking advantage of St Lukes being open this week while Manila is under MECQ). Going back to Cebu she must have a negative test. The lab in partnership with Cebu Pacific is charging P650

My Fiancée is flying out from Cebu to the USA and has scheduled her Covid-19 Test with Red Cross
However, it says "RT-PCR Test- Saliva". Does anyone know if it matters whether it is saliva or nasal RT-PCR Test?
I hear the rapid antigen test is less likely to result in a false-positive and only takes an hour.

What are people doing to keep busy in the Philippines during the pandemic? My fiancée is really struggling to stay positive and optimistic.. We haven't seen each other for a year and a half now and we filed for K1 at the end of 2019.
She's stuck in a small studio apartment with two young kids. Because of the pandemic, they really aren't allowed to go anywhere. It feels like a prison to them. Because in person school is not happening, the kids are both attending online. It's a private school based out of Manila and it's all English. Because of this her non-English speaking parents aren't able to help out during the day so she can work.
She's starting to get super upset and blame others... Mostly myself for her situation. She's tired of waiting, she wants to be able to work and she keeps making selfish statements such as the kids need to suffer so she can have what she wants. She has a Bachelors degree and has tried looking for online work. The problem is the availability requirements want her working in the middle of the night or when the kids have class.
I'm getting tired of hearing her complain and have these fits every month. I don't know what to do for her.
My fiancee is in the situation, even worse since we missed the interview on the August 12. She and her daughter in Manila right now have their medical exams. Once they reschedule the interview she will be ready to go regardless of quarantine status.
