My fiancé passed the embassy interview last night (today her time) and said the interview only took 5 minutes.  The interviewer didn't even ask for affidavit of support or the scrapbook of photos of us together she made for evidence.  It sounds like the embassy is pushing people through fast to try to catch up on the backlog so if you're still waiting for an interview date it could be coming soon!

    Congratulations

    VISA ON HAND!!!  Woohoo!

We got so used to the long wait before interview that we were shocked at how fast the visa arrived.  No complaints though :D

    Nov 5 (Fri) -- Interview

    Nov 9 (Tue) -- Issued

    Nov 11 (Thu) -- Delivered

Now waiting on my CFO counselor if we need another call...

    Congratulations!

    Hello everyone

New poster but lurker for a while!

Finally my fiancee on K1 has an expedited interview on November 18.

I am assuming the best so should I buy tickets now or wait until the day of interview.

Any estimate of when she can fly to the US ?

Any advice is greatly appreciated !

    Thanks Del

My fiancee just arrived. I was 4 weeks from the interview to arrival. Issue and Delivery took 2 weeks. CFO and misc other travel related requirements took 2 weeks.

According to the latest IATF resolution I could find, only Filipinos with TOURIST visas need travel insurance: https://doh.gov.ph/sites/default/files/health-update/omnibus-guidelines-on-the-implementation-of-community-quarantine-august-19-2021.pdf . Travel insurance has been a requirement since last year.

These guidelines are silent on the requirements for outbound immigrants. Likely, whoever she is talking to doesn't realize the K1 visa is for immigration.

Your fiance needs to stand her ground and insist that she is immigrating to the US, and this requirement does NOT apply to her. Escalate to a supervisor if necessary.

That’s what she did. She’s at the gates in Manila. Thanks.

    Because I don't have one.

Just commenting because it is interesting.

It is completely different story in EU/UK. Fiances once in - they can swap their man for another...

I wonder if Latinas or Eastern European girls on K1 also get "abandoned" in the US. Never heard of any country in Central America or Eastern Europe pre-screening their women before departure.

    Good Luck

    Oh I see...

So K1 is de-facto a sort of "mail order bride" visa :) - a Filipina must remain loyal to the US guy no matter what ?

How about meeting a new partner in the US and go with him to Mexico, get married and come back on CR1 ? I don't think a Filipina must return home.. Due to covid people are now able to apply for most visas from the cuntry they currently are - not necessarily from their home country

I'm really not understanding your problem.

What is ridiculous about the CFO is the fact GCC is issued for life so if a Filipina chooses to have another bf/fiance she can use the old, hard earned certificate and breeze through the airport and the new bloke will be happy. I have not seen any rule that changing a partner (unmarried) requires a new GCP.

As to "not marrying" ... in any western country, Filipinas are such a scarce asset they can find a new partner within 24 hrs. I don't get the risks involved ? Ofc visa conditions can be an issue, she might have to leave to another country before applying for another fiance visa. Not sure how it looks like in the US - could a Filipina "swap" a partner and switch from K1 to CR1 / IR1 with somebody else ?

I do not beleive that is true. The certiciates are now enoded with a QR code that probably matches the registration information provided, that includes the petitioner's information.

    To all good people here.

If you had a nice CFO experience (unmarried Filipina partner, short interview, just asked for passports and visa) please share.

I'm on a lookout for a "friendly and efficient" counselor (name / email).

    Thank you so much.

You get who you get. If you try to re-register with a different email they will just refer you back to the orginal counselor.  Do you have circumstances that a counsler will give you troubles? Those are better questions than worrying about who you get.

Not long ago the CFO was so insignificant that you did it in line, now they are back to playing games, wrong on every level.  This CFO stamp and $1.00 Will get you a cup of coffee at the airport, which by the way they haven't been looking at the stamp lately.

I can't take a chance she will get help up by immigration at the aiport in Manila. She is already at her wits end about traveling alone.

  10. They were concerned about my 2 prior divorces (last 9 years ago after 14 years of marriage) and the fact that she has a 4yo daughter. The counsler wants all the facts surrounding my divorces. They also concerned about why that marriage did not result in any children. Totally intursive and ridiculous.

Theoretically they send the sticker by courier and in fact they charge you P117 for the courier fee.  However, as far as I know they don't actually send the sticker.  Or if they do send the sticker, it is so belatedly that anyone would be long gone already.  So they e-mail a temp certificate pdf with a QR code that you print for immigration.

You sign up your daughter with the "Pink" PDOS link.  I was not able to figure out a way to do it without a unique e-mail address for the child.  Use yours or create a Gmail or something.   Yes, it gets a completely different counselor but you just e-mail the requested docs  (passports, visas, PSA Birth Certificates, whatever they ask for).  We exchanged a couple of e-mails in real time with the counselor providing the documents and she sent us "the link" to pay.  It only took about 30 minutes from start, to paying and having the temp certificate for the daughter.

I thought no payment required for child? What did you enter?

Best of luck.  This seems to be the season for everyone getting the heck out of Dodge.

When we got the unique payment link e-mailed by the counselor, we ignored the notation there that very clearly says "credit card payment is not working" and tried the credit card payment anyways.  Quite astonishingly to me, the credit card payment did actually work and the temp certificates were e-mailed instantly.  The key is getting "the link:" from the counselor.

How do I register her daughter? Do I have to use a different email? I tried last night and it said I could not use the same email. Also, wont it go to a different counselor?

Thanks. I tell her to tell the counslor to send her the link when they are done. Temporary Certificate? How do you get a pemanent one?

It will be my wife,, 2 children and I. I think we will be all set. We will get PCR tests in Manila on Wednesday. I chose that route because by using a State of Hawaii approved testing facility I will avoid a 10 day quarantine when we get to Hawaii. I will be bringing the following in my carry on backpack:

US passports for me and my sons.

PH passports or my wife and 2 sons. Wife's has visa inside.

    Both sons CRBA and BC

    Wedding Certificate.

    CFO certificate.

I believe before they used to charge some sort of exit fee when leaving , but I think I remember that being included in your tickets now.

    Anything else?

Right behind you if we get the CFO certificate tomorrrow

Well, they made it out.  In the air bound for Singapore en route to Los Angeles.  Which may seem a counterintuitive route until you consider that from parts of Luzon it is faster and more convenient to reach Singapore from Clark than it is to reach NAIA by car.  A few hundred bucks cheaper too but mainly just more convenient.  As she was boarding the Scoot Air flight from Clark to Singapore it turned out that there are two pilots, four flight attendants, plus all the check in, immigration, security and the entire Clark Airport staff, baggage handlers, and crews to service an A320, which was the only flight at the time.... All in order to transport my wife, her daughter, and the one other passenger.  Bringing it to a total of three apparent passengers for the entirety of Clark Airport at the time.  It doesn't seem very busy.  But, they are on the way.  They made it out.

Congratulations. If we get the CFO cetrificate tomorrow, we will be right behind you
