Manila rarely reviews the 134 for k-1s but it does happen occasionally. Tax transcripts are the best to have are key if they do. You won't have that for awhile for the year that has just passed. It might be smart to send your fiance your latest W-2 just in case for additional proof if necessary. Keep in mind that the I-134 does not have to have a "wet" signature for Manila. You can send it to your fiance as an attachment in an email. Good Luck!

They went through our I-134 info, so be prepared.

Hank, is the info on your website still valid for the most part?

We already filled out the DS-160 and paid fees in 2020.

My fiancée has two children that will follow on k2. Is it still possible to do medical and interviews during same week?  They will be traveling to Manila from Mindanao and it would be easier to only have to go once.

I know from what I've read, that the medical is typically a two day process. I believe slec has limited hours and only open from Tuesday to Friday. Interviews are only being conducted on Thursdays. If medical was on Tuesday and Wednesday would that be sufficient time to have interview on Thursday?

Do not schedule the medicial until you have a confirmed appointment. They are only vaild for 6 months.

I finally got my fiance an appt and I flew her out to St Lukes for a pcr test and the physical.  She had a runny nose and they turned her away.  She went back home and before she left they told her to come back in 5 to 7 days to retake the pcr and try again.  I spent all the expense of getting her out there again only for them to tell her when she got to SLEC that she needs to go to ANOTHER facility to get her PCR done.  So now currently she is in a random DOH clinic trying to get a swab test in the waiting room from hell for the last 9hrs with a baby on her arm.  I'm livid.  Her appt is tomorrow at noon.  IF she can't get the test done by midnight I may have to rebook it for the following day.  However they are saying that if you don't get a PCR by the 8th day they may make you wait 28 days later in a type of self quarantine.  The SLEC website is useless.  None of this is on there btw.  I can't imagine having to do this over and over again.  Has anyone had this experience happen to them?

This happened to my daughter back in September. She had a slight cough and they turned her away. Samething come back in a week with a negative Covid. This was even before they implemented the test requirement.

Before my husband and I got married, we had a conversation about where I want to live --

Chancy:  I'm ok with anywhere that is not a war zone and that has stable internet access.  But I can't stand the cold.

Future-MrChancy:  Ooh, you'll love it here in Louisiana!  It's so hot and humid, people wear shorts on Christmas!

Now, a month after I moved to the US, it's 30F/-1C.  Last night, I slept with my sweater, gloves, and socks on.  Under a quilt.  With the heater on.  In southern Louisiana.  Tonight, the forecast is 28F/-2C.

    Chancy:  "Shorts", huh?

MrChancy:  Honey, I'm sorry for bringing you to this frigid wasteland.

    Happy New Year!

We had 85 here in Dallas on Christmas Day. It was 75 on Saturday morning and sunk to 20 within 8 hours. Wife is wearing a parker to bed with the heat blasting. I had to sleep in the other room with the window open. Lol

Hope everyone has heard from their family members affected by the Odette. My house/garage/worker's house, we're all leveled by my worker and his family and my wife's family are all OK so I'm happy.

We are trying to send money to help our family in Toledo City, Cebu. They are now homeless without food or water. But no where to pick up.  Electric out for 2-3 months. AtMs' and banks closed. Stores destroyed. Hopefully, the international community helps, cause the govt of the Phillpines sure wont.

Would I be able to expedite my K1 case due to the typhoon destroying and making my fiancée home uninhabitable?

I think a lot of people are going to be in the same situation. We are having our wedding on Tuesday and was supposed to live stream back to her family in the Phils. We heard that they are ok but their house has also been totally destoyed in Toledo City, Cebu

I finally booked an interview for my fiance jan 13!  it was the only day and I grabbed it!  The schedule doesn't even show any other days available at all.  I wanted to try to postpone it a little or move it the end of the month but no luck.  I also don't want to risk losing it.

    But........

However one of her police clearances has expired (she got this one twice and it's from Dubai which is a colossal pain to get) and her cenomar has expired (this will be the third time she's even gotten one)  I'm trying to call the embassy to see if there is any leeway in letting her still do the interview with those two things being that way.  She hasn't left the country since I started this process.  Her passport can attest to that.  Has anyone had to deal with this?  Was the embassy forgiving on that part?  She still has all the documents of the times she's done this.  I was originally booking her appt for April of 2019.  They have to take that into account.

She did renew her nbi and start a new Cenomar but they say it might not be ready til January 16th.  Her interview is the 13th.

Anyone have any experience with this?

They wont allow. When my fiancee (wife on Dec 21, 2021) went for her interview, they were turning people back at the inital documet screening for missing or invalid documents. Callng, the embassy wont help cause they are only a call center. They can help you reachedule. Our reschedule took 2 months. If you do decide to reschedule tell them you want it "Escalated to Post".

Awesome, thanks! I'll be meeting her at O'hare Saturday with some warm clothes to change into and a T-mobile SIMM card :)

I was a bit worried because she only has a 2 hour layover in Narita.

Just be aware of the new Covid testing procedure. Within 1 day of arriving in the US.

Does anyone know if she will have to recheck bags when changing planes at Narita airport when flying Manila --> Narita --> O'hare on All Nippon Airways?  Or will they move bags from her first flight to her second for her?

I've always flown with carry-on only when flying internationally and I can't find anything specific about this route.  Apparently depending on airline and country you might have to claim bags during layover and check them in to next flight yourself?

If she has a connecting flight from Ohare, she will have to pick up her bags. If you booked a seperate flight to fly to her final destination, she will have to recheck and be subject to any bag fees, etc. from that airline.

My gf is here on her tourist visa. We decided to get married already so we got our marriage license two days ago. We live in the boonies, so the courthouse isn't backlogged and got it scheduled for Friday. Already hired a lawyer to help us with the green card and preparing all the forms already.

Congratulations. No lawyer needed. Save yourself a bunch of money and go on a nice honeymoon. We are right after you on the 21st.

  13. ALERT: Effective December 9, 2021, USCIS is temporarily waiving the requirement that the civil surgeon sign the Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record (Form I-693) no more than 60 days before the date the applicant files an Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status (Form I-485). It is still in the best interest of applicants to undergo the immigration medical examination close to the time of filing the Form I-485, as the Form I-693 only retains its evidentiary value for 2 years from the date of the civil surgeon’s signature. After the 2-year timeframe, the applicant would need to submit a new Form I-693 if USCIS has not adjudicated the Form I-485. This temporary waiver is effective until September 30, 2022.
