That's why it is VERY HARD to get tourist visas from high fraud countries like Philippines for younger single men and women. It is a stereotype that is true.

I cant help but to think this is what the file reviewers do when they are bored.  They come on VJ to ask a silly question and sit back and laugh at the answers

I can't help but thinking VJ forum should have a category where members could post potentially embarrassing pictures of them as a couple and we all would vote yay or nay for their potential use as evidence.
    Imagine the fun moderating that!

    Okay.....
First of all, I am sorry you‘re hurt and have to go thru this!

But I also want to say, I don‘t like it, that you‘re pointing out that she‘s filipina!
It most definitely can happen to ANYONE and from ANY country...and I find it a little knsulting towards somebody who is from the philippines and having all the right intentions!

unfortunately there‘s nothing you can do now but try to move on from this relationship from hell and live your life as best as you can. it‘ll take some time to heal and be able to trust any woman again I guess but there‘s not too much you can do now

Many have been  denied for doing just that. If you hired that lawyer I would fire him.

That's very cute that you want to support her, and help with packing and all. Hopefully there is no specific shady reason behind it, since you noted that she is independent... My 2 cents though- I would be touched to tears if my fiance would fly across the world to be at the interview with me, and help me pack, stay vacationing, and saying goodbye to friends and family.

You'd be surprised how easy is to scam someone and pretend to be someone else over the internet and then in person for just few days.

All this comments aren't meant to be mean or judgemental. People here seen hundreds and more of stories when perfect foreign spouse or fiance arrive in the USA and suddenly have 180 degree change of character. And there is truth in saying that love is blind.

More face time will ALWAYS be the best advice you'll here. Yes, meeting once within 2 years is the requirements but personally I'll never understand people who decide to marry someone only after spending few days together. It's like marrying a stranger. But hey, good luck! Though the fact that you don't want to listen to good advises isn't the best start.

Right now just follow the k1 guide and you should be fine. Don't forget to check back on forums after your wife gets her green card (after AOS ).

Helping her get back home is probably a better idea. Why would the suggestion of even staying with a man that is supposedly abusive even being entertained? I am getting a  sense that she thinks his free ride to the US is a ticket to the American Dream that does not exist. Who is going to be financially responsible for her? She doesn't speak English so how is she going to even get a job?

That’s why I said depending on the country. I speak from experience because it was a major hassle and extremely expensive for me to get a police certificate from Canada after I attended school there and was no longer living there.

I have no idea either as I don't know what country you live in. But where I lived before moving to the US I had to apply for some special police report where they required a lot of information. I wish you all the best.

Your illegal status in another country will have no impact in your K1 at all nor will it make it difficult to obtain a police certificate. Those saying otherwise are totally wrong.

However, one piece of advice before you leave that country. Get your police certificate from that country while you are there. It might be harder to get and more expensive if you have to do it outside the country if you are not a legal permanent resident of that country while you were living there. Depending on the country, police certificates can even be obtained online and they will be mailed to your address in that country but only if you are currently living there. So I’d do some research on that before leaving if I were you.

Someone correct me but since it's not a legal resident of that country he cannot have an interview There? He has to go back to his country of origin?

Shouldn't be an problem,  US only cares if you overstayed in the USA.

They don't care about other countries.......

    I wouldn't think that

Girl from Philippines don't come to the USA to have fun, they tend to come and try to be a good wife, It's kinda their culture and all they have been taught growing up in Philippines.
