AL-MJD got a reaction from Zzyzx in K1 without the intention on staying in the US
I think people are very odd here.

Technically, you can apply for a K1 Visa without the intention of immigrating. The only thing is that the beneficiary can only stay for 90 days and must fly home before the 90 days is up.

Again, the letter of intent the couple need to send with their petition only needs to declare that they intend to marry within 90 days from the initial point of entry with the K1 Visa.

It's not a must to apply for a green card after marriage, guys. It's a must only if you want to adjust beneficiary status.

I'm sorry, @Linda12345, that your fiancèe's tourist visa was denied. You should know he also has the choice to reapply for the tourist visa, though he has to make sure he has a lot more proofs that he has ties to his home-country and will definitely return there.

K1 is an option, but I truly believe the wait time is not worth it. And only for a one-time entry. Ask your fiancé to try again.

~Hey everyone july filer here ~
*Today my fiance called CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTRE to enquire about our RFE status.
*So TIER 1 said that it will take 50-60 days to get response about your RFE. Then my fiance said that i know that information all ready because it’s mentioned online. Then My Fiance said that i want to talk to TIER 2, then she reacted weirdly ,said that why you want to talk to TIER 2 because they will inform you the same information but my fiance argued with her and she said the wait is over 35 minutes, they will call you back when it’s your turn.
*Finally he got Call back, TIER 2 officers Name was ISO Gonzalez he was so nice , calm attitude and then he asked for more information about us and he said that they all ready received our RFE 13 days ago that means 16 February.
Then he said that they started viewing our case 8 days ago that means February 21.(but nothing is updated on the app,not even online,no mail)

The officer said that they will send case reply soon may be tomorrow , a week or it could be a month.
Then he said good luck sir 😀

I know I detailed everything but may be it could have helped somebody like me who’s frustrated from the wait time periods.

GOOD LUCK ALL (JULY FILERS) and all filers❤️

I sent mine with the packet but

I had to provide all  the updated information (updated employer letter, patstubs, etc) at the interview. I happened to be visiting my now husband at the time so I just brought it all with me.

My husband said they took all that information from our binder to review and keep. I believe it is most important to have it all up to date at the interview from our experience.

I read some people were being required to bring this updated information (or their case was on hold until they provided updated paperwork) when their interview took more than 6 months from filing. I went through the process one year ago.

But Dinesh, will you maybe consider, well, first spending much more time with your girlfriend, online or otherwise, and second, ask her if she would like to visit you again in India and get married in a courthouse if available in your country?

Then you may apply for a spousal Visa. It may be easier for you, I don't know, I'm not from India.

I believe that I'm in a similar situation so let me explain... I'm Malay-Muslim... I'm marrying my 14-years-older fiancée. My parents don't know. His parents does. I've met him twice, not once, in U.S. before he sent in our petition. He didn't give me any engagement ring because that's just not how I roll.

Like the poster above me said, I'm just going to tell the truth. I realize that might be harder said than done so perhaps if I give you a bit of what I'm planning to do, maybe it would help ease your mind?

    1. My plans to prove genuine relationship:
    • prenuptial agreement
    • many many many pictures together
    • both invoices of marriage bands (i bought his, he bought mine)
    • message app chat logs
    • plane tickets of me visiting my fiancée during the petition process

    2. For the PETITION, you need to prove you have met in person within 2 years of submitting the petition. For the BENEFICIARY INTERVIEW, you need to show proofs of ONGOING relationship. There's a difference. Look at 1 to see how I am proving ongoing relationships.

    3. My answer will be that I have not told my parents because I know they will disapprove. But I did tell my elder brother and my best friends of my relationship with my fiancée and they are supportive. My grandmother also knows that I will be starting a new life in U.S.. Having said this, my in-laws know of the relationship, and have given us their blessings of which I am grateful. I truly believe I am matured enough to make this decision. I definitely plan to tell my parents and I am prepared to face whatever consequences they give me, and it really helps that my future husband is very supportive. I will also definitely try to ease my parents to my marriage because I don't want my future children without the maternal half of their grandparents.

There you go. I hope that helps you. Our petition just got approved last week. I have not received a case number from NVC and so have not booked the interview. I'll let you know how my interview goes when I've gone through it.

That's normal. USCIS will not consider the I-134 at all, so they will just ignore it. They won't send it back...they will send the entire packet to NVC then the consulate (as you noted).
I'm not sure why they sent the BC back...maybe it was an original instead of a copy?

Mad? No no no....I'm not mad at all. I certainly did not intend for my post to come off as such.

You will need to complete a DS-160 for a K-1 visa. This is not embassy-specific. Most likely the website copied/pasted the immigrant visa instructions since the K-1 is handled by the immigrant visa unit at the embassy. But nobody completes a DS-260 for a K-1 visa.

You have to tell the truth no matter what. A relationship is between two people and no one else. Having said that, some countries do have a problem with family not knowing or not approving the relationship. If you are coming from a high fraud country, that is gonna be an issue to the embassy so you must find a way to make everything good and right. Unfortunately if there is one thing we have learned about this immigration process is you can no longer be as private as you want about your relationship. Everything about the two of you goes under a microscope. It might be difficult telling your family, but you might just have to. You’re both adults, you love each other, no one dictates your life but you two.

as for the rings     i would not show photos of exchanging rings /  looks like marriage and you are doing K1 financee
why not just tell them/ let the sparks fly/ you are their child and when you are ready to have children,  most of this will be forgiven
people seem to mellow when grandchilren are there
as for the age 10 years is not that much / we have the big age difference
as for the other above muslim woman / if the man is not muslim (by Islam rules) she is suppose to marry only a muslim man so interviewing in a muslim country this may be an issue
    good luck to you both

@Dinesh332This will definitely help you as well. Affidavits from friends/family are basically letters from people close to you and her who are aware and support your relationship with your girlfriend.

In the end, there is really no fool-proof way to get an approval or the eventual Visa. You just have to do ALL you can do. As many things as possible, to prove that you and your girlfriend are serious and the relationship is genuine. If you think the proofs you gathered are enough, gather MORE! If God wills, you will find a way to be with her.

    Don't lose hope.

So tell the CO that due to the age difference, you are afraid to tell your parents as you know they will not approve.

India is not easy to get a visa from sometimes because of certain cultural expectations----the female being younger and of child-bearing years, for one....and parent/family approval, for two.

While for us that isn't much really in sense of age; but that is abnormal in Indian culture isn't? Younger male and older female of that age gap? I'm assuming that is why, at least one part of why your family would be 'shocked' and maybe disapprove? The embassy there again takes cultural things into consideration, so anything "way out of the norm" so to say they will scrutinize.

This doesn't mean it can't happen, it always can be over come with good evidence of a strong relationship; but I would consider getting your family to be aware at least....

Again each country is different. For instance, for us, in the Philippines and some other countries, they don't even care if you ever told anyone in the family at all...
