Hi,
Got a letter from USCIS today. They sent me a reminder to remove conditions. On the letter it has me being a resident since Feb 2018. I got my permanent residency in Feb 2019. They sent me the incorrect green card and I filed an I-90 and got the correct green card with the correct dates. Should I ignore this letter or how do I go about this because I don’t want them to think I am suppose to remove conditions when I am not. I have all paper work related to the new GC change and my new GC of course. Do I need to set up an info pass to get this corrected?

Hi all,
I just checked my informed delivery and saw that USCIS is sending me a letter. I do not live where my mailing address is so can’t pick it up right away. I had my green card issued in feb of this year and it had an error so I had to send it back and got the correct green card maybe a month later. I also changed address and moved to a different city and filled out the ar11 online and have confirmation number for that. Would could this letter possibly be?It is from national benefits center and has a notice date of oct 09. Do they send you a notice mo the later for address change or what?

Hi! My husband also just received his permanent resident card with the correct day and month, but the wrong year, 2018 instead of 2017. How did you end up fixing yours?
Thank you!
I just filed out the form and included a letter that requested that it be expedited due to USCIS error and it was all good. Might have to contact a congressman if they take to long or tell you it won’t be expedited. Good luck

Hi, just curious to ask this from your experience. How long do uscis charged your credit card? I files 8/24/19 but no NOA's till now.
Ah it took maybe a few weeks, until I got the text that they charged both my cards. I honestly can’t remeber how long but I don’t think it was more than a months time.

Hi all,
I have my conditional GC and would like to apply for Fasfa to do a course at a community college. Has anybody used Fasfa while having a conditional green card? We’re there any problems during removal of conditions on using Fasfa? I would like to apply ASAP as the course starts in a few weeks. I know on the Fasfa website it’s say i can apply but I am curious if any one has first hand experience with it ?
Thanks

I remember at one of my previous jobs they only wanted an A# without having to see the card or copy of the card. I assume the employer run SAVE on their end and all was good. Only ID and ssn was needed at that time.
Additionally, employer can not discriminate because you have conditional card.
Thanks.

Thanks all. I was just worried that they would see my GC expires in 2021 and I’ve heard horror stories of the ROC taking long that i dont want them to fire me because it expires and I don’t have anything to prove my status.
Thanks

Well, I am working now and all I needed was my drivers license(which says limited term) and my unrestricted social. I was asking what would be the better documents to provide for the other job. Should i just give them license and social or conditional green card. I’ve heard stories about getting fired from the conditional green card being expired whiles waiting on ROC. I am wondering if it would be best just to give license and social. Would employer know that my conditional GC is only valid for 2 years is what I am getting at.

Hi,
I am trying to see what is the best documents to provide for a job. I have a conditional GC which expires in 2021. Should I provide employer with that? Or give them my social and drivers license? Or does it even matter. Idk how they will react if they see my GC expected in two years. Will they know that if i just give them license and social?
Thanks

Hello all,
Will be moving to another part of Texas in a bit. My wife will be staying behind until she gets a work transfer. How do I update my address? Or what’s the best way to do it I should say. Online or by mail? Or both?
thanks

Hey, just chiming in to say the exact same thing happened to me. Became a PR in late 2018 but the card listed my filing date instead, which was in 2017. If you look through my profile, you can find my thread about it. My I-90 got approved super fast. Not entirely sure why because I asked for an expedite after biometrics but got an email saying it'd been denied. But it got approved in 1.5 months anyways??
Anyway, I got the I-751 reminder letter telling me to file soon. Some people said to ignore it; others said it would be a good idea to write a letter explaining my timeline and include photocopies of everything. I ended up doing the latter recently because I felt VERY uneasy about letting it go ignored. I simply do not trust USCIS to double-check people's cases. If they did, they would not have sent the mistaken I-751 reminder letters to us. Anyways, I also suggest reaching out to your senator or congressional rep to let them know your situation and to look into it as well for you to ensure further confusion doesn't occur.
Wow. Hope you get it sorted out.

I just had to return my new GC because it had an error on it. Fill out the I90 and send in the card with error. Do your biometrics then request expedite due to uscis error and get a higher federal agency involved. I received my new GC within 2 months from me filing it to the new one in my hand. Call to schedule info pass and tell them you want an I-551 in your passport. My office is San Antonio as well. Trust me and listen to me. I just got my New GC maybe 2 weeks ago. Everything went smooth for me. I love the San Antonio office

I agree.
Just to add, the family friend in question brought the girl over, took her to nursing school. As soon as she was done and had her GC, she took off. This was the story, incase you'd want to hear it
Wow unbelievable. What country was the girl from?

From someone in the same age group as you, I'd recommend you take it slow here. You wouldn't want to end up paying $200K loans only for her to take off immediately after. A family friend of mine just learnt this the hard way.
Maybe sneak back into DR or hire someone to see what she's upto while you're away. I know this is not the right thing to do, but it'll save you $$$$ and heartaches later. However, if you find out she's shaky, you'll have dodged a bullet. All I am saying is, do some serious homework.
I still think my suggestion of telling her that they should live in Dominica instead of the states first should be on the lists

Hey! USCIS customer service told me to pay for I-485 and I-130 with two separate forms. What I forgot to ask is how to place those forms. Both of them on the top of the whole AOS package or each of them on the top of the application we are paying for?
Thanks!
I just put one form for each application and places them on top of each application you are paying for if I remember correctly.

Do a search on VJ for walk in biometrics there is a post where people put their city and state and if the walk in was successful or not
FYI the I-551 stamp is only issued when your GC has been approved. It seems that you just started your AOS process so its too early for that.
If you are trying to travel for an emergency you will need to apply for an emergency Advance Parole (AP/ I-131), this is obtained during Infopasses only, and you need a strong and valid reason to obtain it.
Also, until you have done your biometrics it will not be possible to have either an EAD or AP, so you haveto do that first.
Please do not leave the country without the AP or you application will be considered abandoned and you will start everything from scratch and pay the fees again.
Hi,
ive been searching low and high for that thread but couldn’t find it? Could you post a link here or point me in the right direction?

No 551 stamps arrn't done at the Application Service Centers. They are done at the USCIS field office where you need to make a Infopass appointment.
I walked in to our Houston office with our biometrics letter no issue.
San Antonio field office and ASC is at the same place. It’s all in one building.

Hi,
Has anybody recently done walk in biometrics? Specifically at the San Antonio field office? Curious as I want to do walk in biometrics but it’s a 2.5 he drive away and don’t want to get turned away. Also does anybody know if I’ll be able to get an I-551 stamp at a biometrics appointment or this has to be done via info pass only?
Thanks
Green Card has error. Can I still apply for jobs? (merged)
