  1. Correct, a photocopy of the certified copy. I'm not sure on the I130 if you need to send a copy, check the instructions, but I know for all forms submitted to uscis, you only send the original if specifically requested. 99 percent of the time you send copied, and keep original for when you attend the interview.
  2. You only need 1 original to have on hand, and you send photocopies of the original with all the forms. I sent a copy with the 485, 131,765 because they all get processed at different locations. You keep the original copy for the interview.
  3. When my wife and I traveled on her AP/EAD card many times in and out of the country, I always used USA, and yes, we used the Combo card number and were able to check in. Expect some scrutiny at the airport ticket counter if you get a employee that has no idea what a EAD/AP card is ( 80% possibility). You should be able to check in online.
  4. The good news is that hopefully the airfare will begin to drop around October. I have been pushing back a trip waiting for the airfare to drop, and usually after the summer travel season, the cost will go down.
  5. Yes, in some states the license becomes the certificate after it Is recorded, but the majority issue a whole different piece of paper that you need to use to file.
  6. In Las Vegas I sign off on the marriage license, then I take it to the clerks office and get the license recorded, then they can issue the marriage certificate that you need for immigration purposes. Copies are 20 dollars each. Most people get 2 to start. And can always order more online if needed.
  7. Just a note, if your going to spend the 85 dollars on pre-check, spend the extra 15 and get global entry. Comes with TSA pre, and the benefit of global entry, good for 5 years also, and a lot of credit cards will cover the Global entry fee once every 4 years so the price is free to do global entry. As for the documents it shouldn't be an issue as long as your Passport is still valid and not expired, and maybe you can back it up with an unexpired State ID or Drivers license.
  8. I checked the USCIS website, they are saying 13 months for K1 processing, so you are just over the processing time by a few days, or you requested help right before the time was out of processing, but I would expect you should get NOA2 really soon. You can sort and filter the timelines here and see if other people who filed in May have gotten NOA2. that will give you an idea where you stand.
  9. File as soon as you are able. Don't forget the EAD/Advanced parole forms when you file. the I-131, and I-765 they are. They are free when you file with the AOS package.
  10. what was your file date? are you outside normal processing times? This looks like a pretty standard response form letter. I also requested they remove the case number from your posting for security reasons. need to know when you filed, when you received NOA1, did you receive NOA2? If you complete your timeline we can see where you are in the process, and help you out more,
  11. As others have posted, don't try to hit the exact date to file early, always ends up poorly it seems like. wait a week after your eligibility date to file. they are taking 2-3 years if not longer to even look at I-751's, an extra week isn't going to matter, you will be filing the N400 for citizenship before they see your I-751 more than likely.
  12. Hello, I can definitely help. If you need married in Vegas, I'm the one. I have many people from VJ come into Vegas to get married with certificate in hand in under an hour. I have a couple coming in on the 28th of this month to get everything done and taken care of because it is so easy. I don't charge to do it, so you are only out the cost of the license ( Around 110) and certified copies are ( 20.00 ) each. Then of course the cost of getting to Vegas. Not sure where you are located, but I can definitely get you squared away. Only need your ID or passport, same for your Fiancee no matter where they is from, the passport will work. You can pre-fill everything out online up to a year before you arrive, and it is a 10 min process to get your license. Send me a message, and I will pass on my contact information for you, and I will help you out.
  13. I keep them on my phone, but have been stopped 2-3 times when traveling with my wife along the southern border. Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, California, think I have been stopped with her in all of these states, and not once have they asked for any proof of her immigration status. we both show our Nevada state ID/ License, and are sent on our way after maybe a few questions. This was always at a mobile checkpoint they seem to set-up whenever they seem board and want to look like your tax monies are being put to good use. Unless you are rolling in a van or truck loaded with people that look like illegal immigrants, I don't think you will have an issue. I was once stopped by myself years ago, long before I even met my wife and had a real issue at one of these checkpoints coming back from Mexico driving back to Nevada. They really grilled me by myself, and searched my car ( A smart car none the less, like I was hiding a lot in that thing), but still sent me on my way. My wife carries a nice color copy of the front and back of her green card with her, but the original stays in the safe at home( come with us when we travel outside the US only), I'm not going to be out 500 dollars because it gets lost. I told my wife not to worry, if they lock her up I'll get her out... LOL. I know the law states must have it on you at all times, but there are a lot of laws I really kinda don't follow to the letter, and I still get thru life with little hassle.
  14. I added my wife before she even arrived here, at the beginning of the K1 process. Chase credit cards don't require a social to add someone as an authorized user. Then I gave her the card in her name to pay for things for immigration such as the medical and vaccinations, etc. Save me a ton of transfer fees, had no foreign transaction fees, and I earned a ton of points so I was able to buy her the flight to the US for FREE with points.
  15. I think this is state dependent, my wife had a real ID from day 1, even on her temp state ID that was only valid until her I-94 expired. As long as you can prove residency with the required forms of documentation, most states will issue a real ID. My wife had a credit card statement, bank statement, and 3 utility bills she was added to as proof of residence, and had no issues getting a real ID. They only required 2 proofs of residence. we had 5 just in case. This is in Nevada.
  16. The timing posted on their website is accurate to the day. If it says 60 days for a response, you will get a response in 60 days. So you will see a response on August 7th. I have been going back and forth with NVC for over 6 months now, and it is always the exact time they say. It was 75 days a few months ago, so maybe it has gotten a little faster.
  17. Didn't know it mattered, granted I don't think leaving her at customs while I'll dipped thru quickly with GE would have been a good start to life together in the US..LOL.
  18. Had no issues at LAX when my wife and I arrived at 7pm at night. I went thru with her in the Visitor line with no issues. Officer took a look at my passport ans scanned it, said oh, global entry, your done, welcome back, and then opened and went thru the packet with my wife while I stood there. Whole process was 15-20 minutes and we were thru and on the way to baggage claim quick and easy.
  19. Just as a note, you can always file taxes, even if you had no income, that way you maintain a history of filing, and can always get transcripts if needed. Sometime you even get money back if you qualify for rebates and other things, so it always pays to file.
