  1. If your 13 months in, don't see it being much longer now. Maybe 4 more months, 6 at the outside. I wouldn't start getting crazy just yet, Everything takes forever with immigration. Took 14-15 months for the last I130 I did for my stepson, he just entered the 9th of November. My wifes I751 has been pending for over 2 years, we just filed her N400 for citizenship on the 19th of this month. Everything takes forever with the US government. Wait until she gets here and your trying to get the work permit and Advanced parole, save your energy for that fight.
  2. For both my wifes K1 and my stepsons I130 we just did, they always added a 01 at the end of the NVC case number. With the K1 it was expected as her son would have been 02 if he was on the petition, but they did the same thing on his FX2 Immigrant visa. He was 01 at the end, I think the computer just ads the 01 to the principal case automatically, and would add 02 to the next derivative, the 03, etc.
  3. Hopefully, wife has been studying for the test, and if it's a combo interview, so be it. Be good to get everything done early next year.
  4. The case just updated this morning to uscis is actively reviewing your case, and the estimate did drop to 10 months from 16. The ROC should be approved any day now based on the other cases I have been following. If that gets approved without interview, then hopefully N400 interview won't be far behind.
  5. Been trying to do this for years. cost just went up to about 2200 dollars just to file, then they hit you with anywhere from 35k to 70k in fees before you actually get to renounce. It's a complete hose job. they want to keep you on the hook for taxes until you die. I could completely understand not wanting to Naturalize, I think once my wife gets citizenship I'll have her file a I-130 for me and see if I can enter the US and just have a green card.. LOL.
  6. Should be about 2 months from Dq'ed until Interview. The I130 I did was just completed( entered on November 9th), and interview was scheduled about a month after DQ. Then the interview will be 1 month from notification, so about 2 months total. They are moving pretty fast from what I can tell. I would think late January for the interview as you have the holidays coming up.
  7. Got the N400 completed no issues today. All filed and paid for. Said 16 month wait, but hopefully sooner like @Vegas i-751 had posted earlier.
  8. When you go in for the I-551 stamp, they may take your original card there in office, and verify the error. Doing this may actually speed up the I-90 process. Then again, it will probably do nothing, but I would get the stamp.
  9. I agree, I want as many interviews as possible. Gets me every penny out of my filing fees. I hope the interviews last 4 hours each.
  10. Both Canada and Mexico share entry and exit information at land crossings, so they would know. This has been in effect since 2017. Now unless you are talking about entering Mexico without inspection ( Jumping the border into Mexico) that may present other issues, but in theory they wouldn't know when you left, so may cause issues when you return. And once you try to board a plane in Mexico, they will check to see if you entered Mexico legally, so trip would end rather quickly. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) cooperates with both Canada and Mexico to secure our shared borders while facilitating legitimate trade and travel. Under the U.S.-Mexico Entry/Exit Data Sharing Initiative, CBP and Mexico’s National Migration Institute (INM) intend to exchange border crossing information collected from travelers entering Mexico at ports of entry along the U.S.-Mexico border. The exchange of border crossing information under this initiative is intended to assist INM in creating entry records, and assist CBP in creating U.S. exit records based on a record of entry to Mexico, thereby facilitating cross-border travel and supporting both parties’ immigration and law enforcement missions.
  11. You can deduct the time it would take you to drive to the office and drive home, give or take the 20 min. it would take to do the fingerprints. They reuse the fingerprints about 99% of the time. Gives them an extra 85 dollars for the Lunch fund.
  12. I was thinking, because of the holiday Friday, and like you said, long weekend, that could be the issue. Thanks for the input. I'll just try once a day until it finally works I guess. In a week, I'll file VIA paper. The I130 worked so well, I had high hopes of no issues with the N400, I should know better now.. LOL.
  13. I have tried to start the N400 application online, and get so far before an " Unable to retrieve your application" error pops up. Only get thru the first 2-3 pages. I exit to the home area, and see the pending N400 application in my profile, and when I try to continue it it takes me back to the error " Unable to retrieve your application". I have tried multiple browsers, and deleted the filing, and started over a few times with the same error showing up. Have only been trying for the past hour or so. Guess I'll wait until tomorrow to try it again. I am assuming it is an error on their end, as I have successfully filed other forms online with no issues ( Just completed I130 online, well, case is closed now, got the visa and everything, but that went very smoothly online). Just wondering if anyone filed N400 online and had this issue? Thanks in advance.
  14. Judging from your post you are doing a K1 visa. After you receive NOA2, the petition will then be sent to NVC for processing. that's at least a month of you not being able to do anything. Then it will need to be transferred to the embassy and have an interview scheduled( Another Month or longer depending on embassy). Only thing you may be able to do in the next 2 months is get the case number and fill out the DS-160 for the interview. You will be home long before anything important is required. You could bring a copy of the I129F you filed so your fiancee can review it before the interview. Maybe whip a new intent to marry letter for the interview with a more recent date. and bring any original documents they may ask for at the interview. You can't really do the medical until interview is scheduled, make sure you round up any police clearance certificates you might need.
  15. Another thing to consider is when you are checking or picking the country to get married in, look how easy it is to get copies of any proof of marriage is. Do you have to pick up in person, actually travel to the country, or can you just order online and get delivered. Being able to get copies initially and in the future is important.
  16. Normally they require him to undergo counseling for 12 months for proof he is no longer using any drugs, and he will have proof of that. then he will take the proof to the new medical ( Will cost the same, or maybe less if he got vaccinations the first time around he wouldn't need them again). After the panel physician reviews the information, he should clear him and submit the medical to the embassy. then he can do the second interview.
  17. Well, I just got good news on my Visa case in Bangkok. Went from Refused after the interview for 5 days. Then after they received The documents I mailed in that day it went to ready, then the next day all in the same day from Ready, to Administrative Processing, then to Issued later that same day. Just checked it a few minutes ago. So from interview to issued in about 7 days even after having to send in a marriage certificate original copy.
  18. I just got good news on my I130 I did for my stepson a few minutes ago. Hopefully not much longer to you see this message!!!!!
  19. You will definitely see a message that says Documentary qualified, I actually received 2 messages a minute apart from each other, guess they wanted to make sure I knew. My documents said accepted for months before I became DQ'ed. It takes about 75 days from each action for things to get reviewed. After you upload all the documents, noone will even look at it for 75 days, then you will get a request for more information, or the DQ message. Count 75 days from the day after the accepted part, and that is when you will hear something.
  20. As @milimelohas mentioned, if you need married quick and easy just get to Las Vegas,NV, and I can get you set-up with certificate in hand in an hour or so. It's a really easy process, and you can have everything you need in an hour. Very few places in the US can match the ease and quickness you can get married in Vegas. It is the " Marriage capital of the World". Message me if you need more information, and I can send you my contact information.
  21. If you need a teaching job, they are hurting so bad here in Nevada, they will hire you no questions asked. and they just bumped the pay, and are offering bonuses. Its a failing school system, but get in make some money, and bail out when it collapses. You will get to check out Las Vegas,NV as a nice bonus.
  22. 2 to 3 weeks. I would say a month at the most. Some people get them, some don't. It seems to be hit or miss.
  23. I must have misread something, and sent her original marriage certificate and divorce certificate from her ex husband who she had the child with. I sent both of those because in the I130 she was the petitioner, and it asked for marriage certificate and divorce certificate if any, so I thought her old marriage certificate and divorce certificate. Didn't occur to me that they needed our New certificate showing our relationship. The only way I am involved in the process is the I864 with the joint financial documents, but I guess they need proof her and I are married because I am a " Family Member". No big deal, The amount of flyer miles I have It was cheaper for me to fly out of LA round trip to Bangkok, then to Next day air via fed-ex. The next day air is 114 and change, I got a round trip ticket where I only had to pay the taxes on it for around 120. So I guess it's a few dollars more than next day air, but a few days getaway is always good. the 21 hours of total flying time sucks, but I haven't been thru Korea, or Taipei, or hopefully Japan on the way back. Japan just reopened earlier this month, and I enjoy Tokyo, shooting for that on the return. Yes, they checked upload, and mail for how to send it in. Already uploaded last night, now have to mail in the original. Since I never uploaded a copy of it from the beginning, it should all match when they receive it.
  24. Should have visa in a week or so. My stepson just did his F2A visa interview ( 12 Hours ago) and they requested a copy of my wifes and mine original marriage certificate for some reason. I went and got a few copies( Last night at midnight, I love Vegas, you can get anything you want 24hours a day 7 days a week), and I am on the plane 24 hours from now to go to Bangkok. Should get there late Friday, get everything together, and mail Saturday to the embassy. They should receive it Monday, and hopefully process pretty soon. They kept his passport, and CEAC says refused right now, but should switch to administrative processing when they receive the paperwork like it did on yours. Let me know when your status changes to issued, so I have an idea of the time frame also. Thanks in advance for the help.
