We had then N400 Interview on Monday at the Hartford CT field office.
We applied for naturalization based on the 3-year marriage rule. We also have a pending I-751 (that we applied for ~18 months ago). We went prepared for a combo interview.
The officer did not take me (the US citizen spouse) back, only my husband. He did not do a combo interview and did not want to see any evidence (updated taxes, original copies of evidence, etc). He asked my husband where he worked, 6 civics questions, made him read a sentence and write a sentence, and the yes/no questions from the N400 form. He told my husband that he passed but because he had a pending 751, he could not approve N400 on the spot. He would have to approve 751 first in the computer before officially approving N400, but told him it would be fine and "felicidades" and that it would be official within the week. We were in the building for a total of 45 minutes.
Today, the N400 status changed to approved and then
The status for 751 still hasn't changed online but our Naturalization was approved. Hoping to go next month for the oath ceremony.
Obviously, I still highly recommend preparing for a combo interview (if you have a pending 751) and brining all the evidence with you just in case. We had a whole stack of documents but he did not look at any. Good luck everyone!

Welp, senator from my state replied back about my request on ROC exceeding normal processing time. USCIS denied the request to adjudicate ROC before N400 interview. I guess filing N400 doesn't help expedite my case.
I filed N400 in March and my interview is in 10 days (So 5 months from applying on line and have the interview at the local field office). The process seems waaaay faster than I751 (still no movement on that case). Good luck!

I had my naturalisation interview yesterday but they didn’t do a combo interview as the officer said my I-751 is still stuck in Nebraska. He said he will put in a request for it. He said I’m very passable but cannot make a decision until he gets the I-751 filing. I’m now just stuck in limbo :(. Anyone else had this issue?
Wow, what!? I thought the naturalization would just supersede the i-751. I hope that you have a swift resolution. We have our N400 interview coming up in 3 weeks, but no news yet on the i-751, so probably the same situation as you. Will let you know how it goes for us!

We got our interview scheduled notice yesterday --> August 22 at the Hartford, CT field office! So for us it was 5 months from application to interview. The estimated time online was 13 months.
We also have a pending i-751 (applied May 2021) and the status of that has not changed.

We applied for N-400 in March 2022 (3 year marriage rule). We found out yesterday the N-400 interview is scheduled for next month. No word/change to the status of i-751 so looks like we are just moving on to naturalization - but of course we will prepare for both just to be sure.
Good luck everyone!

Anyone here who filed with Vermont service center? My case still shows finger print approved since last year May.
same same

Anyone else applying for naturalization (n-400) while still waiting for the 10 year green card? We just applied last week. (Married 3 yrs to US citizen, originally came on K-1).
For the I-751, we are EAC and still stuck as "fingerprints taken"

May I ask if the status change online if biometrics is waived?
Yes, the status changed online to "Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken"
-
Biometrics waived. The case status updated on June 8th -about a month after they received my file- to show that fingerprints were taken, and I received the waiver in the mail today, June 14th (dated on the 8th).
-
Just a reminder that there is a tracking spreadsheet, so fill it out if you like- this makes it a lot easier to compare timelines.
April May and June are together (see tabs at the bottom). There is also a tab for earlier groups (called "Sheets from Other Months") and you can see the progress of earlier months... Sept/Oct are starting to see some action.

For those of you who are adjusting from K1 visas and have already had your green card interview, did you need to bring a completed I-693 with you to the interview or did the DS-3025 suffice?
No, you do not need a 693. They should have your medical on file. We brought copies of the DS-3025 that were given to us after the K1 medical just to be safe, but he did not ask for them in the interview.

We had our interview yesterday at the field office in Lawrence, MA. I am the USC and my husband is the petitioner.
We were called from the waiting room and when we arrived at the front he had us introduce ourselves and he said he only wanted to talk to me and had my husband wait in the waiting room. We went to the office and I sat across the desk while he thumbed through the file and was on the computer for a little over 5 minutes.
They had lost some paperwork along the way (like the marriage certificate! so it was great I brought the original and another copy for them). I also had a new copy of my passport and license with my new last name.
Then he just said, "ok so what do you have for me that shows your have a joint life?" I gave him a copy of our lease, car insurance, checking account, and joint tax return. I also gave evidence my husband is the beneficiary of my retirement account. I gave him receipts and boarding passes from 3 trips. I asked if he wanted to see pictures, he said no. I asked if he wanted to see our wedding celebration (the party this summer) invitation, he said no.
He asked me very few questions. We spent about 1 minute on "how did you meet/decide to get married." He was short but always pleasant.
He then went and retrieved my husband. When he came in, his whole mood changed and he was not acting the same as with me. He was very abrupt with him and not really nice. He went over the whole i485 question by question (even whats your name, how do you spell it, what are your parents names, previous addresses, and all the 80 yes/no questions, the whole application. even "is this your signature?" at the end ). After that he said "ok I will review this during the week and make a decision." And that was it.
We left feeling strange but we did the best we could do.
Anyway, one day later our status changed to "new card is being produced" so THAT IS AMAZING! And we are very thankful. The interview process was definitely a little unnerving for us.
Take care everyone and good luck on your journeys. I will see you again in a ROC thread in the future

Your'e correct not everyone arrives with a K1 but the person who originally posted that message states on their timeline they arrived on a K1 visa in 2018?
Sorry I wasn't very clear in my excitement. I'm the USC, the petition is for my husband

Hi all. We had our interview today in BOS and we were approved 🥂 They said I should get the card in the mail in 2 weeks. I will leave a more detailed overview at the BOS office review page if anyone is interested. Also happy to help any other MA/BOS people preparing for their interview in the coming months.
Main takeaways:
- they interviewed my husband (USC) first and wrote down all answers he gave
- I was then asked to join him and they asked all the same questions to see if our answers matched
- questions were pretty interesting, but everything you can easily answer if you actually live together as a couple (ie. who does the laundry 😂)
- he didn't ask for any of the paperwork I was asked to bring to the interview.. I still showed him some proof like joint phone plan, joint account, joint health insurance.
- At the end of the interview he just said we were approved and congratulated us.
Good luck to everyone still waiting!
Congrats! We are the Boston office too!
Our NOA1 date is Dec 18th and we had biometrics on Jan 11th. We haven't heard anything since the biometrics... just waiting waiting waiting like usual

When is the right time to begin the ds-160? Also, is it done on papers or electronically? ❤️
It is electronic https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/Default.aspx and once you complete it, you will probably have to print the confirmation page and bring it to the interview.
I don't know how fast the embassy in China works, maybe there is a subforum for that information. I think it's fine to fill it out once your application is moving through NVC. In my case (Cuban having to interview in Guyana), I know that completing the DS160 happens before you can schedule your interview...
Good luck!

Congratulations! So, do you file the ds160 after having gotten the case number? What’s the next step? Thanks in advance. ❤️
Actually, there is no place on the DS160 for the case number, only the USCIS given WAC number....
I am ready to file it but have a few questions for my fiance, after that I will send it in
