Congratulations to all the approvals and interview coming up, my call in date is set for 2nd week August 2019 (surprised letter in mail box) no online update. The information is not correct, those are some of the lawyers who have little knowledge about vawa. On the i_360 form there is a box to check if you want ead after vawa approval, you will get ead (c31) after vawa approval if you check yes.

good questions. I did not write a letter to my local office, but I did include all the USCIS receipts for I-130, I 485, and I765 when I initially filed my VAWA. I think that is the reason they cancel my I-485 interview via my Ex-husband, which is good for me. I did not need to do anything to my local office.

Yes you should receive it within 1week or so, uscis now partner with SSA to issue SSN immediately after they issue EAD, their reason is to speed up the process of getting SSN. If you read the EAD form carefully you will see the information written on it.

Yes, one is out of status but authorized to stay until a final decision is made on the application.
You can still file another i-485 as soon as possible and write a letter to uscis not put you on removal.

According to your story, your file was put on hold and merged with Vawa, from my understanding you got denied because you did not submit the requested evidence needed for approval. You can reopen the case within 30days if you have that particular document at hand, but if you don't have it, you have to refile again.

In my case I was unable to do a change of address for vawa online, the USCIS officer told me I MUST submit mail paper form to vsc because anything relating to vawa can not be done online for safety reasons.

It’s sad to hear this. But more sadly, cheating is not a ground for filling vawa. Sandra mentioned this million times already.

Sandra previously stated back in this forum that you can renew EAD when i-485 is placed on hold, as long as the case is not closed, you can renew, I know of few people who renewed EAD based on previous i-485 that was on hold.

It is my understanding that once your i-360 is approved, you will scheduled for an interview based on the previous i-485 that was put on hold, so if your i-485 was placed on hold then you don't need to file another one.

You need to fill out the form and take it along with you since you did not send a copy along with your i-485, it is mandatory for all vawa applications, it's just a waiver of affidavit of support, meaning you are not required have a financial sponsor. If I may ask Which office is your interview and how long after approval you got notice for interview?

I guess @ahmad- is concerned because there are some news online that says vawa expired with shutdown, how ever, those post are related to funding vawa receive, they never talked about and they are not in anyway referring to the ability to filing vawa (i-360), that was why I posted that link to help clarify that vawa is not listed there, and uscis never said they stopped accepting vawa applications. There is nothing wrong for someone trying to ask questions, that's what this forum is for, to ask questions, support and encourage others 😊😊!

You are right though, but those who have already sent in their packages shouldn't even be worried about expiration or not, let's keep our hopes high!

https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/lapse-federal-funding-does-not-impact-most-uscis-operations, I don't think vawa expiration has anything to do with I-360.

My green card arrived earlier than the estimated delivery. Super fast, and also received the letter of approval and welcome package. Happy day, and early christmas gift 😀
