One thing to mention is that neither the app nor the website updated , only when the card came in the mail i got a notification ( so basically it jumped from  new card is being produced to card has been delivered by usps ) .
I got the approval card after card came 🤣🤣.

    Interview notice : February 21
    Interview : April 1
    Card came April 8th

So we just had our interview today in Portland OR office. We were approved on the spot.
The officer went through questions from the I-485. He was really nice , no complaints there . He asked general questions , how we met , where are we living now ,  and asked for supporting documents . We only had the health insurence and our rent agreement and we brought couple pictures with family and friends. After that the officer said that he doesn't need anymore proof and everything is in check . He told us about the removed of conditions and to expect our GC in the mail in the next 2-3 weeks. 30 min after we left the building the USCIS app updated to case must be reviewed and 15 min later changed to New Card Is Being Produced.

PS : one thing I would definitely recommend giving the fact that the officer complimented us for doing  , is to write the dates and the names of the places on the back of the pictures. Again that was something the officer appreciated and I would say made things really smooth.

Good luck everyone with your journey.

Just done with my interview today at USCIS Portland OR and it was super smooth. Lasted less than 30mins and the CO just asked some random/relevant questions from the I485 form. Some questions asked were:
    - Date of Marriage
    - Me and my husband's full name
    - Our DOBs
    - Our home address
    - My Parents' names
    - Our kids DOBs

Thats it! CO informed us how long will it take for the GC to arrived.

Goodluck to all who are still waiting. 🙏😊

"Guilty until proven innocent" is the same for every country when it comes to tourist visas. It's the law.
All tourist visa applicants are presumed to have immigrant intent until shown otherwise.

A return flight would be worthless, it means nothing for a tourist visa application.
The embassies specifically tell applicants to never buy flight tickets until they physically have their visa in hand.

No sealed packet given at the interview.  Your husband will get the sealed packet along with the passport with visa.  Note that some embassies are sending electronic packets directly to DHS now, so you may not get a sealed packet at all.  Not sure if that's the case for Cairo.

Well we have experience in this!  We were able to DCF as I already had proof of residency there.

There are a lot of things to be aware of.

First, you most likely won't be able to get a Mexican Visa as a single person. North Africans coming on a tourist visa is hard. Think USA hard.  But it only cost about $38 to apply.  Your fiance should be there with you to apply.

If you decide to marry in Morocco you will be abandoning your K1.  As long as your petitioner has either Mexican Citizenship or a green card, either temporary or permanent, they can apply for a family visa for you at the Mexican Embassy in Morocco or where you got married.  The petitioner will have to be with you at the Embassy.  They get interviewed too.  I prepared about two inches thick of my proof of property ownership and my residency status and our relationship.  The amazing thing is we got ours done in 5 hours.  Appointment at 10am, pick up passport with visa a 3pm.

Once you get to Mexico you will need to get your green card.  Mary's took about 6 weeks. Get a drivers license too. Make sure things like rent and utilities are in your name too. Then file the I-130 petition.  During that time you need to maintain your (legal) residency.  You might have a Mexican Green Card that is valid for a year, two, three or four years or forever.  It just depends if you get a temporary or permanent visa.   It has to be current at the time of interview and I've heard during the NVC process as well.  Nothing happens under pressure in Mexico.

You need to realize that Juarez is the busiest IV consulate in the world.  Right now, according to reports on VJ, it is backed up over 8 months to get an interview.

For your interview you will need police reports for Morocco and Chihuahua and a current Green Card.  Make sure you have a few years left on your passport before you go to Mexico.  When Mary interviewed she had to meet many requirements for both Mexico and Philippines for paperwork.  We got married in Hong Kong so there was a marriage certificate from there too.  Honestly I would expect that a DS5535 would be asked for as well.  Just because you are in Mexico you are still Moroccan.

Do you speak spanish? Do you intend to participate in the culture? Living in a border town in Mexico is pretty ruff.  I've done that.  You are going to be there for probably two or more years.   I haven't seen much North African culture in Juarez.  I have in Mexicali.  I've been to Casablanca and Fez and had a business in Juarez.  It is very different.

Mary lived in a tourist town and hour south of the border where a lot of english was spoken, had my friends around to support her and made her own friends and volunteered.  She had her own car and did speak a bit a spanish before arriving. I still traveled worldwide while she was living there. Again we were DCF so that was only for a total of 5 months.

If you acknowledge that this is going to be a longer process and want to just be closer to each other then I would say go for it.

Best wishes.   Feel free to PM me if you want.

The key to filing taxes is to break even at the end of the year, or come tax time. If you are getting a refund then the government is keeping money you should have gotten and is making nice fat interest off your money, yes, your money owed you is making them money. It's better you get your money thru the year and invest it and use it how you see fit, why let the government decide how to use your money. You want to only get back maybe 100 bucks on a refund, then you have all your deductions and write offs in the exact place they should be, you don't want to owe them, and you don't want them to owe you. You can file your taxes quarterly ( I do) so you can keep track of where you stand during the year, and adjust deductions accordingly. Everyone has this notion that Oh WOW, look at me, I got 10,000.00 back on my tax return, I'm such a baller, let me go buy myself a new car, and some Happy meals from McDonald's. What it really means is I'm such and idiot I let the government keep my money for a year and they bought themselves new cars and Happy Meals from McDonald's using interest off my money that was due me. So, it sounds like you did pretty good overall, and kept most of your money thru the year.

Sorry to say but if you are asking this question then obviously your calculations are incorrect too.  There is a different tax rate for Married Filing Separately (MFS) vs Single.  You don't get to file single if you are married.

Pretty casual, I came from work, didn't dress fancy.
Asked how we met, what we do for fun, if we traveled anywhere, if we go out to eat, our favorite places.

Smooth. I'd put more money in parking because I had to pop out to put in more money (or use the app) and then they called during the time I was out at the meter, but it was fine.
