  1. If you are not yet married and you want to process a visa, you can process Fiance Visa.

If you want Spousal Visa, you must marry your fiance in his/her country first and must submit marriage documents to process the said visa.

Timeline for processing visa is case to case basis. But  normally spousal visa takes longer than fiance visa. I am on my 7th month processing for my fiance visa.

    Good luck!

  2. Gush! I'm almost there! Our case status says we are READY for interview when scheduled at the US Consular section. We are currently waiting for interview appointment letter and also the NVC letter with case number.

Any idea, how and when can we get the list of requirements needed for the interview?

Until now my US petitioner has not sent his documents to me coz he's waiting for the lists. He wants to be sure that he will fill up correct forms, although I already told him about I-134.

What should be the form for K1 : I-134 or I-864?

  3. @Kristi&Luigi really requires patience. My fiance and I plans were totally changed. -_- If only we knew that K1 is slow, maybe we chose CR1 instead at least I can have my GC once I arrive in states.

I am a June filer and received NOA2 last November 30, 2017. Until now I am still waiting for case number from NVC. My US fiance might call NVC after New Year hoping to get good news.

My problem now is that my CENOMAR (Certificate of No Marriage -  Philippines) will be turning six months old this January 18, 2018. I don't know if Consular in Myanmar would still accept it if it happens that my interview will be on February or March or maybe I have to secure new said document.

hello everyone, we got our approvall NOA2 approval notice tru uscis last dec 11, but when we got the hard copy of our noa2 approval tru mail, it says our case notice date of approval was Dec 08, 2018.  How many more weeks to wait before we call the NVC?  Any advice as to what to do and prepare while waiting.  My Senior Chief fiance is back here in the Philippines and spending the Yuletide Season and will stay for 36 days, would it give us the chance to call the NVC after 2 weeks of being approved, or we wait for 4 weeks as what the NOA 2 notice stated?

Thank you all for your kind attentions and we are sending our prayers to all who have been anxiously waiting for NOA2.  I will personally go to the Church where I and my fiance wrote a special request to grant our prayers of approval.  xo :)

Hello, as what I heard from a pinay, she's on her 6th week waiting for NVC. Her fiance called NVC everyday for their case number. Maligayang Pasko Po!

Huh I thought we need to compete the DS-160 form after we obtain our case number from NVC

Mans what copy of our packet to our fiancé? What packet do you mean?

Like the affidavit of support needs to be mailed prior to our interview to the beneficiary.

But we need to do that after NVC is done with our case and sent it out, since it needs to be up to date and with current delays facing us we shouldn’t do that just now

It's the beneficiary who will fill up the form DS-160. This form needs the case number from NVC to complete it.

Hi everyone. Congrats to members who have received the NOA2.... the others like me, just wait,,,..

I have a question. My fiancee (beneficiary) is planning to bring some money (saving) from her home country. Which are the pros and cons? Do I have to report this money to IRS? Is this money considered income tax once we get married and file taxes?

    Thanks,

I read the post of @Naes in the other forum. I want to know how to transfer my savings too to US.

@Birveonrty I wouldn't force or demand my fiance to do anything but I know how you feel about wanting your fiance there. My fiance won't be around for the medical or interview but I told him I don't want to leave my family without him there to help me because I already know my mom and dad are going to be a mess and I probably will be too leaving them. I would at least tell your fiance how you are feeling so at least he knows he has to be there for you more emotionally, it's okay to not act tough all the time and lean on the ones we love.

    Thank you!

I never force him so far. Sometimes dropping words like "I wish you're here" is making him a guilt trip. He can read my mind.

I understand him so much especially his financial status when one time he asked me to help him make a budget. I saw all his expenses and bills. All I could say is "if only I could help you now."

When someone trys to force or demand something from their SO it shows you are controlling and that can end in problems for relationship.

It took me 1 full year to save again to make this trip after going to see her last year, it is costly for this venture.

That's why I can't do that especially we are not yet married because I don't want to hear negative comments from my partner. I am a girl, it cannot be avoided that I would feel sulk. He knows that I am independent and a go-getter but I admit, that times like this, I need my partner beside me.

I agree 100% and if a person can be there It is a plus, but the reality is not everyone can travel and personally take documents with them, so no choice, but to send them.

I know I will be there with documents because I sure don't feel the least bit comfortable sending them, and I plan to be there for the interview anyway.

I'm a little jealous coz my fiance cannot really make it to come to Myanmar for my interview.

You are right, not everyone can travel, he's also trying to save money and pay his bills. He's trying to clear it before I arrive.

I'm too shy to force / demand him to come.

I would call the embassy not the NVC though. Because I can easily say here in japan it is I-134. And it did not change.

I864 is for green card. It is binding for the sponsor unlike I134 and in that way it is different than what a k1 supposed to do.

Hahhah... This is crazy! Now I check the website here and they changed the form from I-864 to I-134...hahahha

Yeah, you are right, I would probably call embassy here on Monday to verify. My fiance called NVC to check if NVC already received the documents from USCIS and hoping to get case number.

As I don't believe anything said at the NVC

Im also sure they thought it was a k3 and started explaining what you need for a CR1 because it sounds like that...

Actually before receiving NOA2, I checked the link for US Embassy Rangoon. It was mentioned I-864 and not I-134. So I searched the difference between the two and found out that I-864 is mostly used for spousal. I only heard the form I-134 here in VJ so I informed right away my fiance. Now after his call we're both surprised and that's why I asked this group what is really the fact. He told me that he's gonna call NVC again by Monday or Friday.

Not alot of people will send crucial financial info overseas unless they can not avoid it, i am not sending mine i am taking it with me for her interview.

I believe in the Philippines, US petitioners are allowed to go with their beneficiaries for interview but they said not here in Myanmar.

I am a Filipino but I am processing my visa here at Myanmar coz I am working here.

Sometimes, I'm doubting if he's trusting me about his documents. Now I understand.

No the I-134 is not obsolete or outdated.

My F talked this day to a NVC representative tracking our documents and at the same time inquiring possible requirements for my interview. He will not send documents (that include I-134 which he filled up) unless he got those lists from NVC.That what the NVC representative told him and made me surprised.
