George & Roth got a reaction from Mason_inami in N-400 November 2021 Filers
I think we started this together in June 2017 in the K-1 thread? Don't miss those days of waiting while separated. I am excited that her N-400 interview is coming on Feb 23rd and if she passes we are completely done with the process.
If she applies for her brother or sister maybe I need to stay on the forums for another 15 years? 😵🤢

Did you check the website? Or you are waiting for the mail?
You may see your interview date right now on the USCIS website. Go to the case, click "documents" and open "Interview Scheduled"

I just went through the interview this morning and overall it was a great experience!
My interview was scheduled at 6:30am (Los Angeles Field Office). I arrived at 6:15am, however, the security line wasn't opened until 6:45am. I waiting around 10 minutes in the waiting room and the officer called me into his office.
He quickly went through some of my basic information and asked for my interview letter, green card, and driver license. After that, we dived right into the Civics Test and I was asked the following questions:
Why does the flag have 50 stars? How many U.S. Senators are there? What movement tried to end racial discrimination? Name one right only for United States citizens. What do we call the first ten amendments to the Constitution? Name the U.S. war between the North and the South. The officer stopped after question #6 since I answered them correctly. We then moved on to the reading test (Which state has the most people?), the writing test (California has the most people), and went through the rest of my N-400 form. The officer was chilled and we had some small talks. After 30 minutes, he informed me that my application was approved and I will have my oath ceremony tomorrow!
Good lucky everyone!

a. Our N400 was based on 3 year rule but if asked, I would interpret it as 5 years from date of interview.
b. There is a glass separator with a space underneath to hand documents over
Good luck with your interview!
1. I do not know the answer to this but our interview was at 9:30 AM and while waiting, there were Oath ceremonies throughout the morning/day
2. Not for calls/speaking....if you have to make a call, you have to step out of waiting area
3. Do you also have a pending i-751 (removal of conditions)? If so (as we did), we had to convince the security guard that the spouse needed to be there for the -751 portion to also be interviewed and they allowed us both in. If it is just N400 (and not I-751/N400 combo), then yes, spouse has to wait.
Good luck with the interview!

So it took a year for USCIS to send us a notice of RFE. I'm pretty bummed about it since I thought I already submitted the essential evidences that I needed but apparently, I need more.
Question: Is the RFE pretty straightforward? Do you just submit the other evidences they requested and mail it?
Congrats to @George & Roth for the early N-400 schedule! Hi to @Naes and @mysticdolphin95! I remember you all from our K1 days here!

Hey Naes!
Yes, we are doing it in Newark. I was actually wondering if we would have it done before NEXT summer when we are going on overseas holiday. I can't believe it's scheduled now.
It still has the estimate as a long time from now:
N-400 Application for Naturalization
Estimated time* until case decision:
approx. 16 months

Received an email about case status being "post decision activity" so I signed in to see what that was about, I guess it means that the card was ordered but today was actual approval date. Seems backwards but not going to complain.

George & Roth reacted to Just Paul in And we are done!
Mary had her interview this morning in Phoenix. It took about five minutes after waiting about an hour. I was outside in the car and she called me crying; I thought some disaster happened. Took about 45 minutes then she and 5 other were naturalized.
We have a trip to London next week so the only Passport Offices with openings are Honolulu, San Juan and El Paso! We will work on reacquiring her Filipino Citizenship when we return.
Thanks for all the support!

To determine your 90-day early filing date, begin by identifying your 5-year or 3-year date as a permanent resident. For example, if the date on your Permanent Resident Card says “July 4, 2013,” you meet the 5-year permanent resident requirement on July 4, 2018.
For my wife the green card date is Feb 9, 2019. She meets 3 years at Feb 9, 2022. 90 days before is November 11, 2021.
