I'm not good with technology.
Yes, my NOA2 just came. So I have not been waiting a long time for my case number from NVC or anything like that. I was just wanted to get info on how to deal with the people at NVC when I do call in the near future.
Thanks for your comments guys!!!!
Hello! This aren't mine. If I'm not mistaken this was on April thread:
Here is what I did. Please feel free to absorb and apply as you see fit.
Step 1: Obtaining Your Case Number
The average number of days it takes for a file to arrive at NVC after NOA2 is around 3 to 5 business days. Begin calling on day 3. The best time to get through is after 6pm (EST) on weeknights. They remain staffed until 10pm (EST). The number is (603)-334-0700.
If the first thing you hear is a voice, it will be a recording with a message that says there's a large call volume and then (eventually) hangs up. Continue to hang up and call again until the first thing you hear is a ring.
After this, you'll need to press two buttons:
1 for English or 2 for Spanish... and then 7 to ask a question.
Special Note: When you first get into the loop, you can hit 1 (wait 1 second) and then 7 or 5 or - 2 no need to listen to the spiel in between numbers unless you have a burning desire to.
You could be on hold anywhere from a minute to an hour. Hopefully the hour would be absolute worst case scenario- just don't plan to do this when you only have 5 minutes of time to spare!
When a CSR is ready to speak, you will hear their phone ring. They will ask you for
your case number. The number to give them is the USCIS number that you have been monitoring for the past few months, it should begin with WAC2017...
When you tell them your number they will put it into their system query. Likely, on your first call, they will say that your file is not there yet, and then tell you that it can take many weeks to arrive. If your file isn't there, thank them and tell them cheerfully that you will call again tomorrow.
The mail only runs once per day, so multiple calls in a single day will only irritate them. Call after 6pm. If your file has arrived at NVC that day, it will be there. If not, then call the next day after 6pm.
When you give them your case file and they ask you for additional information, it means that your file has arrived!!! You must then tell them the petitioner's full name (that's yours) and birthdate, and the beneficiary's full name
and birthdate. This is their security check, so know this information before you call.
They will then tell you your Case File Number if it has been assigned. Sometimes it takes several days to have a case file assigned- sometimes it is assigned the same day.
Your case number will have a 3-letter Prefix relative to your Beneficiary's Embassy City, followed by 2017, and then two 3-digit numbers.
(Fun fact: The last three numbers are what order the cases were assigned that day. For example, if your last three digits are 029, you were the 29th case assigned that day.)
This number will stay with your file for the rest of this journey. Write it down!
Step 2: Checking your CEAC Status
After many calls to NVC and short eternities of horrible on-hold music (haha), you finally have your case file. Enjoy the stroll from here on out, it can go by very quickly!!
You can now check your case status at: https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx
Under Visa Application Type- Select Immigrant Visa
Under Immigrant Visa Case Number- type in you newly minted Case File Number.
Step 3: The Last Steps
Now, you will have one of a few answers to you query. At NVC, In Transit, Arrived, or Ready. "Ready" is the magic word. That means that not only is your case at the Embassy, but it is already entered into the system. After paying your visa fee, you can submit your DS-160 and schedule your interview!!!
On many Embassy websites, you can download your packet 3 instructions and help your fiance prepare what is needed before the interview. These are country-specific instructions. For my fiance's country (Nigeria), the packet was on their website. They also eventually emailed it to me, but I didn't wait for their email since I obtained it from their website. This packet will give you instructions about the medical exam and the police report that is needed before the interview

We also got approved 10/10th. Does anyone know whats the next step or can we already schedule our medical and interview? Thank you and goodluck to all of us guys.
I posted it here few weeks ago, hehe.
After NOA2 wait for 10-12 days and you can start calling NVC for your case number.
NVC contact number: (603) 334-0700 Press 1 for English and choose option 7, 5, or 2, it worked for most people here on VJ. You can call them Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. EST to 12:00 midnight EST.
If you get the case number which starts with MNL followed by 10 digit numbers, click immigrant and enter the case number, you can check it at:
ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx
After checking, make sure the status of your visa are:
AT NVC - meaning your papers still sitting at their office
IN TRANSIT - meaning your papers are on the way to USEM
READY - your papers already received by the USEM
(Others have paid already once they got their case number, some waited for the READY status to appear on the CEAC tracker )
You can start paying your visa fee at Bank of the Philippine Islands. Bring your MRV together with your passport and $265 but you are going to pay it in Philippine peso .
MRV slip:
http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/pmisdepositslip.htm?amount=265&country=philippines
For you to be able to have it one bond paper:
Right click and select ALL, right click and select COPY, go to MS WORD, right click PASTE, select ALL and adjust the font size.
Wait for 4-6hrs to validate your receipt, sometimes it takes longer up to 24 hrs, just be patient.
You can set your medical at:
SLEC increased the fee starting Oct 1..
Php 17,025.00 for adults
14 years old below is Php 9,583.00.
After your medical or whenever you want, you can accomplish the DS160 here..
https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/Default.aspx
Schedule your interview over here:
https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/
If you wish to attend your CFO seminar while waiting for your interview/medical or once you have your visa, set your appointment at:
http://gcp-appointment.cfo.gov.ph/
Remember that no more walk in allowed at CFO Manila and Cebu offices, however they still accept walk ins at Pampanga office.

I worry about a rfe because fiance typed date on letter of intent and signed it but did not write date.
I don't think that's a problem. What we did was, we reviewed our entire packet around August and prepared those things that "maybe"' we'll get RFE'd for, so in case it happens we'll send it same day. Didn't happen to us though, but at that point we're all left hanging at the adjudicator's hands.

It was a mutual friend whatsapp group. I pray everything is OK. This is killing me
It really depends on the adjudicator. We were expecting an RFE since we forgot to put the TOS of the website we met in our packet and we are blessed to receive our NOA2 without an RFE.

Does anyone know if/when we see our status change to approved hopefully, how long after that would we see something in the mailbox confirming it?
Ours never changed. We received the mail after 3 days from when James spoke with Tier 2 and learned that we were approved a day before that.

Hi, lurking June filer here
We've seen approvals here lately (congratulations to you all!) and I was wondering if the couples who got approved actually were approved in the estimated time frames the VJ estimate gave them? Basically, are these estimations still somewhat valid and if not, how much longer did it take? I am not familiar with how the scans Shoegum kindly posts out work exactly, but it seems the center works very few petitions a day (less than 50?), and I read somewhere there were around 4000 K1- petitions filed each month, how does this add up? We currently are at 130 days and the VJ estimate for NOA2 between Oct 29 and Nov 1 seems incredibly optimistic. :/ If someone could elaborate on that or point me in the right direction as to where I could read up on it, I'd really appreciate it!You're welcome to lurk on here. hehe
My approval was 9/28, I was way past my VJ estimate. I think a week or two behind. Honestly I stopped looking on my timeline after I hit my 130th day. hehe
We were approved 148 days since NOA1 date. (150 since received date) -

How much time is taking after being approved to get the number and for the case to leave the NVC? Do some of you have received the number or are your cases on their way to the embassy?
I'm reading that this step is (surprisingly...) taking more time than usual.
9/28 NOA2 no case number yet. I'm hoping we'll get it this week.

Why so many RFE's for May? There's 80 or so already for May filers... What kind of evidence are they typically looking for?
Not a lot of those who got RFE's are member of this forum. But from what I've seen on April thread, they were asked for the Terms & Conditions of the website they met, proof of relationship, a box they forgot to tick or their passport biopage, and the passport size photos. To be honest, I was expecting a RFE because we forgot to put the terms and conditions of the website we met, and my ID picture wasn't a 2x2 one. But luckily, we got approved. So, it really depends upon the adjudicator who handles your case.

What is the case tracker app? I have the USCIS app I believe, but didn't know there are others? For an android.
For the Android one, I think it's better to get the tracker app by Spinach LLC. I could be mistaken though. Let's ask @Trinab80. 🙂

I-129F May 2017 Filers
in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
Posted
Hey, my lovely MAYers! Sorry, I've been MIA lately. Been really busy after I flew here to Manila! Anyways, we got our MCN 10/12 and flew here on 10/14. Went to medical 10/16 and 10/17. NVC status of my medical was still AT NVC. Philippine folks, you can take your medical at SLEC even if you just got your MCN. (Especial thanks to @etteniMTtocs of April filers who shared this technique with us). Just make sure to do the online pre-registration ahead of time. Do it here: www.slec.ph.
@Alma Dela Vega and I got there around 3:30ish in the morning. The queue was long already around that time. The gate opened around 5:30am and the guard checked our documents, make sure to bring:
•passport
•passport biopage
•printed SLEC pre-registration form
•printed screenshot of NVC status showing At NVC.
•if available, NVC letter and interview appointment (in my case I don't have those yet)
The security officer said that he's not sure if they'll accommodate me because of the NVC status (but don't worry, because if we got through it, you can too!).
The lady on the ground floor said the same thing to me when she's checking my documents but Idc, I know for sure they'll let me do the medical. Hehe.
We paid Php17,025.00 at the cashier and from there everything went so fast. Just a tip, use the stairs not the elevator so you can move quickly to different floors and finish everything early.
We finished around 8:45am and was told to go back the next day (which is today) at 8am for the results. Oh such an agony we have to endure! So scared to get that "for sputum" stamp on our receipts!
We were scheduled to go back at 8am but we went there around 5:30ish am because we know the queue will be so long again. Aha! We were right. They started letting people in before 6am. The security officer will then stamp your receipt with whatever is written on his computer. The fun begins here! Haha. @Alma Dela Vega was stamped "For Immunization" and we all know that this means she passed! Yay! Meanwhile, I got the "For Counter A, Medical on Process". I was so shocked. I wasn't prepared for it. I didn't know what it meant because all I researched is whether you'll be stamped "For Immunization" or "For Sputum Test". Anyways, Counter A opened at 8am. I waited there for ages for my name to be called. So, when you or your fiancé get this, it means that your medical results are not yet finished. Either they haven't read the blood test yet, the physical exam, or the urinalysis. After few hours, my name got called and was told to go to the immunization room. I got two shots. Yay. During this time, my status at CEAC tracker went from At NVC to In Transit! Yay!
Our payment from the previous day at BPI for the visa fee amounting to Php13,780.00 was validated too! Got validated for about 24 hours later. We got out at SLEC about 1:30ish pm already.
@Alma Dela Vega and I have scheduled our interview on the 24th. @krizia will go with us as well for moral support hehe.
