Apparently they did do something  They notified the state health department.

I for one think someone ought to be double checking Saint Luke's x-rays.  I'd be curious if American doctors come up with similarly vast numbers of false positives from viewing the same x-rays.

RO_AH reacted to top_secret in Philippine CFO - Certificate of No Marriage Question
I've heard of an affidavit of eligibility for marriage being asked as a requirement for a foreigner to marry in the Philippines.  But not by CFO.  If CFO is asking, maybe they suspect a previous Philippine marriage for some reason.  Foreigners can get a CENOMAR or Advisory of Marriage from PSA.  Maybe that's all they want if it doesn't create any problems.

I recently heard of the NEW LATEST, all time weirdest, totally no one could make this s#@t up, requirement from a CFO counselor.  Apparently the counselor found out the foreign fiance had a know Filipina ex-girlfriend.  So the new fiancee, who has applied for the CFO, was told she needed to contact the ex-girlfriend and get an affidavit from her about the reasons she broke up with the foreign boyfriend.  I never heard the outcome though.  I can't see how that could possibly end well.

Great. Have a good trip. Correct, since it’s for a spouse just the marriage certificate is fine.  Just make sure you enter before November 15

I finally got it and you were correct @Skyman & @flicks1998 entry is 90 days with 59 days period of stay. It is listed as a spouse visa and not a parent visa so I will need to bring a copy of our marriage certificate.

No.  CFO is a Philippine thing.  Mexican officials wouldn't care.  Even if you had a CFO sticker, they could still turn you away.

In my opinion, spousal is by far a better choice, now more than ever. They are still processing spousal visas at almost pre Covid numbers and the advantages after arrival can’t be ignored. Spousal, in my opinion, wins hands down.

It is quicker to the beneficiary getting settled, less paperwork and much less expensive.

Last time I checked, the only way you can get you name on it is to be married unless you are using a Philippine passport.

Frustrating yes, but this is normal operating procedure.  She should have had x-ray and other documentation from SLEC to carry with her.  We went through the same procedure here in Texas and it all worked out in the end.   She was tested for TB and of course it was negative just like it was the three times she was tested in St. Lukes.  If you want to vent look towards the Bureaucrats at the CDC, the same folks who went against their own science to establish policy and restrictions for Covid.  They are responsible for the sputum mess at SLEC.

I am now friends with a guy that I warned but it did not start out that way. I knew the scammer so I tried to help him. I sent a FB message request to him from an account I creed and told him that she is married and he is being scammed. After a brief conversation he blocked me. So much for trying to help him. At least I planted a seed. Later because of my warning he started to get suspicious. He ordered a CENOMAR online. That came back as married and he unblocked me and messaged me. We talked for over an hour on the phone after that and we became friends. After finding out and confronting her, she said it's true but I want to leave him, can you help me get an annulment? Hahaha they never give up.

Consider the money you paid her as an educational expense. Break off all contact. You are being used and it will not stop until you stop it. Reading your older posts I think you were engaged or married to a Filipina before and had some difficulties? I am not trying to be rough on you but foreign marriage is not for everyone. The best of luck to you and stop sending money)

I just looked at the visa I was given.  My original visa was good for 3 months, from October 30 2020 to Jan 29, 2021.  However it states the period of stay allowed is 59 days.  What they mean is, I had to enter the Philippines within that 90 day period, but once I entered I had 59 days before I had to extend.  The Consulate told me the same thing that it was 90 days and unextendable but they were talking oranges when I was talking apples.  However they are talking the time period that you have to enter the country, not the validity of stay you are allowed.  Unless something has changed (and I dont think it has) the same rules should apply to you.  However once you get your visa let us know.  It will be stated on the visa itself.

Edit:  I just saw @Skymanpost.  He is correct.

A 9A visa is valid for 90 days. You must use it (enter the RP) within 90 days. On entry you are allowed to stay 59 days and must leave or extend within that 59 days.

They called me today. They said the visa will be good for 90 days and recommended that I wait to get it since I am not leaving until October. According to her I must leave the Philippines before it expires. I said, no I would like to have it now. I will be leaving the Philippines before November so I would rather have it now. They sent it out and I should receive it tomorrow..
