I do think each embassy is different because the sealed envelope is the one my son was told to hand to the port of entry. Thanks for your response, it helps a lot.

I would not really worry about it too much. I am sure the Doctor included either a film or Cd or even both inside the sealed envelops. When you arrive at port of entry, they will open the sealed envelope and you will have an idea of what is going on.
By the way, my wife when she arrived they did not even ask her about the X-Ray, although she had a CD with her.

OP is treating her mom's visa denial as a personal offense against her.  She pays taxes and has a police officer husband, and they should be treated better than other people because they are not criminals like other people who come here illegally.  She is entitled to have her mom here.

This is the crux of her frustration.  Instead of trying to understand the visitor visa process, she is taking this all personally.

Support is one thing, but I'm giving OP actual informations and telling him what rules are. Rules he can confirm with USCIS websites.  You're giving some innacurate info about stuff being added to the visa by random officers..

Exactly, keep it simple. I'm doing a drive thru wedding. I'm not even wasting time getting out of the car. Who wants to find parking, walk to the court house and deal with that. And I can grab a double cheeseburger on the way out. Maybe a side of fries.

Wow, rather than trying to assemble good evidences of bonafide relationship, you are already thinking of using affidavit from someone working in the embassy or in case you need to go to congressman!!!! Are you yourself doubting your relationship??

Your best bet would be planning on accumulating and/or adding new evidences as you two keep going.

Pretty sure that person would get in troubles if someone finds out he's/she's helping a relative with visa process... nepotism much.

I don't see how you can include that in petition or how that would help.

    K-1
        More expensive than CR-1
Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork)
Spouse can not leave the US until he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 3-4 months)
Spouse can not work until he receives EAD (approx 3-4 months)
some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period .
Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed.
    CR-1
        Less expensive than K-1
        No AOS required.
Spouse can immediately travel outside the US
Spouse can start work if desired
Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card withing 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US
Spouse  has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.

All-in-all, the CR-1 is superior to the K-1 imo.  Whatever your choice is, don't rush.  Get as much actual time together as possible.  That is crucial in any relationship, and especially high fraud countries.

Think of the numbers also how they grew with the President's election. People who were satisfied and happy being GC holders all of a sudden panicked because of the "fear" instilled in them by the media to apply for citizenship. I'm sure that explains a lot of the increase in N400 applications also which, obviously can begin to cause backlog when offices get overwhelmed. Not the entire reason but possibly one factor into it all.

I don't see the relevence of the "current" administration being a reason for your visa process being so "hard" on your relationship. Almost everyone goes through some sort of hardship while waiting for their visa to be approved.

Either way like others have said, just get your divorce and be ready to go back to Canada and then you will be free of the "current" administration won't you! lol

good luck in what you do but I doubt you will have ap by October. So are you going to still return home in October or just stay here?

I only ask because now you are married and have an immigrant intent so if you leave without ap and try to re-enter and a later time on esta it might cause a problem at a poe.

If you can't stop working then cancel k1. And apply for cr1 visa so you can work upon arrival.

The only legal thing for you to do is to wait until you receive a work permit - which will be within 3 to 6 months period after you file AOS.  Can't do any work without it.

Not sure what kind of experience you're asking about. People working illegaly without their EAD document? Uh...

florida racer 73 reacted to Jojo92122 in DCF or not- CR1 on a tier 2 UK visa
This is US immigration, not a game.  Play games, then pay the price.

You are returning to the UK as a tourist and you will file with the US Embassy claiming UK residency.  Brilliant idea.  What can go wrong?  You are so much smarter than the US Embassy.  Committing visa fraud is the way to start the immigration process for your wife.

Yes, they will double check.  Why the hell would you consider starting things off by lying?

If you made more than than $10,000, then you need to file a US tax return.  It's hard to see how you could have had a work visa and made less than $10,000 per year.  No US tax returns from you, then no visa for your wife even with a Joint Sponsor.

Take this seriously.  Don't lie.  Do you really want to take the risk of wasting time and money?  Do you really with to commit fraud to get your wife to the US?  Do you think that is without consequences if you are caught?  Willing to pay the price?
