TheSkywalkers reacted to isis375 in Approved Spouse Visa. Zoom Marriage!
CR-1 Visa Approved! Zoom Ceremony.
My husband and I married through Utah Online marriage ceremony in September 2020. I visited him in Costa Rica in October 2020 and filed for the CR-1. Our I-130 was approved January 29, 2021. We were DQ in the NVC on February 16, 2021 and received our interview date on February 24th.
My husband passed his interview this morning and now we await his passport and POE in the coming weeks.

N400 Interview Approved!
I was interviewed in one of the windows in the waiting room, lol. He asked for my 10 yr greencard and passport.
Civic Test Questions:
What is freedom of religion?
Why are there 50 stars in the flag?
Why are there 13 stripes in the flag?
What did Martin Luther King Jr. do?
Who is the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court right now?
What is the supreme law of the land?
Reading and Writing:
Who elects Congress?
The people elects Congress.
NO WORD DEFINITIONS
Officer asked me a few questions to confirm a few details / info about myself and my husband:
Where do you work?
What do you do there?
Did you travel outside of the US in the last 3 years?
Where was your husband born?
He asked about the address change since the one we had when I filed was different from the current one in the system. He asked me when we moved to the new place and if I have the lease with me. I told him we actually bought the place, and I didn't have the title with me because the title company has not sent it yet and I have proof of that. I had a feeling that could be brought up and I am so glad I brought some paperwork with me that shows we did buy a condo: letters from the mortgage company + the printed email exchange I had with the title company proving that COVID delayed their process of sending out the deed of our home.
He also asked us why we filed our taxes separately during the last tax season (we have always filed jointly except for 2019) and I have a ready and printed out explanation for that as well. YES I CAME PREPARED! 😆 He asked for the 2019 Tax forms with the attached W2s.
He asked how our marriage is and if we plan to divorce each other, lol.
Yes and No Questions followed.
He then told me he is approving my application, printed my oath ceremony appointment letter and told me to come back on December 4 to get sworn in.
Officer was so nice, greeted me "Happy Birthday" and told me that this is their birthday gift for me as it is my birthday 10 days after the oath taking ceremony.
A TIP: In the letter for the interview appointment, it tells us to bring the originals of everything we submitted online. Make sure you bring originals of everything you filed PLUS all evidences of your marriage that you incurred AFTER you already filed because the officer could ask you for those things just like what happened to me. Officer was very happy I came in prepared, makes his job easier he said.
Goodluck to all of you who are still in the process! Your time will come. Keep praying, be patient, worry less and back it up with great organizing skills. I really do believe it pays off being organized. As someone who's always been hands on to all of the benefits we filed, none of them took so long to process. K1 visa took 4 months, adjustment of status took 4 months, removal of conditions took 7 months and now my N400 took roughly 4 months from filing to oath taking.
AND IF YOU CAN, DO NOT HESITATE TO HELP THOSE WHO HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PROCESS. PAY IT FORWARD. GOOD KARMA AWAITS YOU. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE!

TheSkywalkers got a reaction from dmnc in POTOMAC (YSC) I-751 Non Transferred Filers ONLY...
Woah, didn't know there's this thread.
Potomac was my service center when I filed for I-751 June 10 of last year. Got approved 7 months later (January 2020). They were the quickest service center at the time based on the USCIS website.
There was a change of events however because SRC used to be super slow and then they just started spewing approvals like a mad man. No rhyme or reason whatsoever. Anyway, just dropping by to say I am praying for you all and hope you get your 10-year Greencard soon as a gift for the holidays! Hang in there. ❤

TheSkywalkers got a reaction from Venus201320 in Checklist for N400 Interview?
Bring everything you have uploaded when you filed PLUS any other evidences you have incurred after you have filed. For example, if filed under the basis of marriage to a US citizen and you have bought a house after filing, bring a copy of the title, gave birth to a child bring the baby's birth certificate. Someone went to his interview recently and they asked for a copy of his lease and he didn't bring it with him. He was told they will approve his N400 once he is able to provide that so he left the office without an approval. Also bring traffic tickets you have gotten before and after filing if you were ever given any due to traffic violations. Really anything relevant to your stay here in the US. Goodluck!

No one can really say for sure as each person's case is different. Also, it depends on how fast your field office is working on their cases and the officer handling your case.
To give you an example, my friend and I are from the same city and she filed March 2020. She still hasn't heard from our field office. Her biometrics was scheduled but canceled due to COVID. The field office closed in April and reopened in July. I filed in August 2020 and in September got a notice that they are reusing my bio just like you. A month and a week later (October 21), I got an email from USCIS saying that an action has been taken on my case and when I logged in my USCIS acct, it says that my interview has been scheduled for November 23. Nobody knows why mine is moving faster than hers. We can't be comparing cases because no two cases are the same. It is a puzzle we will never know the answer to.
But you know what I noticed? I personally never bothered checking my status all the time, not in any of the petitions we filed from K1 to AOS to ROC to N400 and all cases moved fast and smooth. I got approved before I even know it in each one of them. Maybe let your case move in its own pace and hopefully you get more updates soon. Good luck.

Good luck @TheSkywalkers and thank you for your uplifting response! I admit that I haven’t thought about the potential significance of the interview date itself for the USCIS officer too! Let’s hope that we will be all celebrating these holidays as newly minted Americans soon 🙂

My friend said she had to wait for 3 months for her oath taking in San Antonio but this was 2 yrs ago. I hope things have changed. I think dur to COVID they'd like to minimize having people over so they would most likely do it the same day so you wouldn't have to come back. Also, you have the perfect interview date. It would most likely be that the officer is in a good mood because it is the last day of the year and he/she would like to end the year and start the year right. You know what the holidays do to people lol. My interview is this coming Monday and it's Thanksgiving week so hopefully the officer is just as nice haha!

So my interview got scheduled for December 31st at 8:45 am, San Antonio office. Good to know that the government is hard at work even on New Year's Eve! Does anyone know whether the San Antonio office performs oath ceremonies on the spot after a successful interview, or are "traditional" ceremonies back? I am based in Austin, but I haven't been able to find any scheduled ceremony here

I never relied on the uscis.gov website. My case still says Case Was Received over there. My friend's case # who already got her greencard last November still says the same. I downloaded the app Case Tracker and that's where I rely. It was how I got notified that my 10-year greencard is being produced.

Just got notification today that my New Card is Being Produced!
No Interview. Came here on a K1 Visa. ROC Service Center is Potomac Service Center.
ROC process only took 7 months. I should get my card in 5 to 10 days.
To God be the Glory!
All the best to those who are still waiting. Prayers up for y'all that you get yours soon too!
