Cryssiekins reacted to RanKan in I-751 January 2019 Filers
Thanks for your valued response. Although your interview was cancelled, you should still feel excited that the finish line of your journey is within reach once our country and its citizens regain their strength. We are happy for you both.
I also appreciate your optimism with regard to the transfer of our case ending with an interview. Fingers crossed!
My wife IS interested in obtaining her citizenship. Our approach has been "one step at a time". I have not posted or responded to many of the other filers on this forum but I do read most of the posts when my time allows. I know there are many who have submitted their N-400 while still waiting on approval of their i751 in hopes of a combination approval/interview. We hesitated sending the N-400 until we started seeing(on this forum) combo interviews scheduled. It appears this is happening for you and perhaps others which is motivation for us to go ahead and submit our N-400.
Thanks again for your thoughts Cryssiekens.

If you get an interview notice, and the i751 is still pending, contact your congress rep office.
I did that and they had my i751 moved to be adjudicated with the n400, so at least I know whenever this covid thing is under control, I will be wrapped up with the immigration journey.
My n400 interview is for April 14th, but I don’t see that happening. Will be rescheduled.

Cryssiekins got a reaction from NikLR in Can I go visit my husband?
My husband and I were in the same car and were told he could not enter. Staying with my family in Canada (I am a Canadian citizen) was not a reason for him to enter.
Entry to a country where one is not a citizen is always discretionary.
I certainly wouldn’t encourage someone to
drive 6 hours to a border where she may be turned away, even with proof of marriage.

Cryssiekins reacted to SusieQQQ in N400 Interview - Civics Test Questions
They’re not multiple choice. It’s a little confusing because all the prep has it in multiple choice form, but in the interview they ask you verbally and you provide the answer. At least this is how it was at my interview 4 months ago.

It’s verbal. They ask and you have to provide the correct answer. Thankfully if you get the first 6 correct, they stop there. Google citizenship questions and you’ll see all kinds of tools to help you.

When my wife did her N400, they gave her a booklet with the possible questions. I quizzed her on it a lot. Also, there are YouTube sample interviews that she also found very helpful.
You can get a PDF of the booklet here.

The proposal is being put together by the Treasury Department, which the IRS is part of. I think it would be all taxpayers, using the 2019 income tax returns. That is the easiest way to get accurate numbers on children. They are saying $1,000 per adult and $500 per child up to 2 children, or a max of $3,000 for a family of 4 or more.

Mine was scheduled for April 14th and I got a notice that it will be re-scheduled.
I know we’re all anxious to get this process wrapped up, but this is for the best. We will get through it, but right now everyone’s safety is (and should) be of paramount concern.
Stay safe everyone! 💙

Personally, I would get inside the USA asap........else you risk of being locked outside the US for an extended time......just my opinion.

January 28th, 2020, which was exactly 1 year after filing the i751.
My local office is Buffalo, NY, so it’s relatively small and quick in comparison to even other offices in NY state, but I’m pretty surprised at how fast this is coming.

Cryssiekins reacted to Diane and Chris in MEGATHREAD- All USA Flights from EU banned for next 30 days
IMHO, I believe it will help decrease the spread. If we can contain what we have here, that would be the best scenario. Don’t bring anymore infected individuals into the U.S. This should have been done a few weeks ago.
