Well just take her with you. Worse comes to worse she can't go in and will just wait outside for an hour or so. You already bought the plane ticket, so just go with her and prepare as if she would be let in. If not then that's okay too. It's an important day, so if she has to wait outside or in the car or at a starbucks that should be worth it. Better be safe than sorry, especially in these times with covid where a rescheduling could mean many more months delays.

Hello VJ friends, today I attended to my Oath Ceremony and received my certificate of Naturalization. The long journey is now finally over. If anybody interested in the timeline of whole process I have updated my timeline. Wish you all good luck!!

Had a combo interview on this week. My i751/ N400 was approved and i had Oath same day. Officer was very professional. He told me that he has never seen people from my country before here in USCIS. Well, in Iceland it is only 350000 people, so that is very likely. Lol ok, i am finally DONE. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting!

Where did you hear this nonsense?

I heard Mexico would pay for a border wall but I haven’t seen that happen. I also heard we would wake up one day, back in April, and coronavirus would be gone. I haven’t seen that happen either.

Got my interview appointment, November 2nd, less than two weeks to prepare! I was so hoping to get a combo interview, but I guess I wouldn't be so lucky. This was after I sent a Outside normal processing time query about two weeks ago. 
 
Feeling really stressed to be honest, so little time to prepare. 

An update: spouse's oath ceremony is scheduled for Oct. 28! Here's hoping we can get him registered to vote quickly.

My interview was this morning at 7:45.  VERY quick (less than 10 minutes for the n400 part).  Then told they do same day oaths because of covid so we (it was a 751/400 combo) would need to go sit in the lobby, and that it would take “about 30 minutes”.  So, 3 hours later the supervisor finally came down, and just did a group oath with the 6 or 7 of us who were waiting.  

I had my interview this morning (it was a combined 751/400).  
 
The 751 one part started okay.  He asked basic questions of me and of my husband to confirm the info on our application.  Then he was like “let’s see your updated documents”.  Cool.  I handed him updated banking statements for checking, saving, and a credit card.  He went through each one and made sure all the months were there.  
 
I showed the originals for our car titles.  I have updated car and health insurance documents.  
 
And I gave an updated IRS tax transcript and certified copy of the state return.  I did NOT have the most recent ones (2019) because I thought I could obtain both federal and state through online portals.  I was wrong, and while I did send paper requests, I didn’t receive them back in time.  He did NOT like this, and it was an uncomfortable 2 minutes while I was shaking and holding back tears and my husband was rubbing my leg trying to soothe me.  So my advice, if you don’t have the official documents, bring something, anything, that shows you filed. I’m so mad at myself for not even printing out the return and w2’s.  
 
Anyway, after that, it was a few more questions about why we don’t have utility bills together (I mean, I cannot get Verizon or the electric company to add a second name), about trips out of the country, and our family visiting schedule, and then that was that. 
 
At the end he approved the filing, so I’m chalking his attitude up to the fact that that’s his job is to press and see how people react.  
 
Also got approved for my n400, and due to covid, they did a same day oath ceremony.  Told me it would be “30 minutes” and it was 3 hours, but hey, I’M DONE!! 

Finally got through to USCIS and talked to a very friendly rep. She laughed when I said I was too impatient to wait the few days for the letter to show up.  
 
I'm scheduled for November 9th, in Detroit. I'm very disappointed I won't be voting this year. I could write a paragraph whining about it but I won't.
 
Anyway...a few months ago in another thread, someone said that the old case status website (egov.uscis.gov) updates faster than the new one (my.uscis.gov). I have found this to be true. I had an account on the old site from my CR-1 visa so I added the new case number to it and selected to have it email and text update me. I got the email right away (never got a text). It's been over an over and the new site still shows "we reviewed your biometrics." So there you go...if you check constantly like I do, make sure you've signed up for email alerts on the old site.

I had my N-400 interview this morning at Washington DC field office. I received the appointment notice only for N-400 not I-751. When IO called me in he asked me if my spouse is with me because he will be making decisions on both. Apparently my I-751 got transferred to local office from NBC and I had never received any notice for that. Interview was easy and simple yes/no questions. After civics test he asked me if my wife is here with me and I told him yes she is in parking. He called her in and went down to get her. Then he asked me and my wife 10 questions separately About us. Then at last he told me that my case is good for approval but he have to go through  my background check before making any decision. After we left for 10 min o got text notification for recommendations for approval and second one that-they are placing me in waiting to be scheduled for Oath ceremony. Wohooo, finally done with years of process. 🎉🥳

Oh yikes!  What a nightmare. I’m sorry your process has been so frustrating.  
 
If you move, your n400 will be delayed because I think there’s a 3 month living requirement to file in a new jurisdiction, but at the rate they’re jerking you around, you might meet that requirement before they even go to ship your file. 
 
I thought they scan everything upon receipt, so sending the physical file seems like a waste of shipping fees.

Hello All,
an update on our case. We received the N400 Interview appointment for Oct 27th. It has been a long wait but finally we are seeing some light at the end of the tunnel. The I751 is still pending but my guess this will be adjudicated at the same time.

I feel like a petulant child at this point but the entire reason I applied the DAY I was eligible was so that I would have tons of time to register to vote. Then stupid Covid hit and it’s getting less and less likely that I’ll be able to vote. I know other people have much worse problems — this year especially — but I’d been looking forward to voting this year since I immigrated in 2017. Ugh. 
 
Everyone who’s done...listen to this person and please vote for the rest of us!

It sucks how USCIS process cases? No standard whatsover and they kept on claiming that they processed cases in the order they received which is a big lie.Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about it:(

I think offices in big cities are still catching up with cancelled interviews. From some of the post I have read, NY still doing 2019 interview so that could be the reason for delay. We are in same boat. I751 pending since dec 2018. After asking for help with senators office, they forwarded letter from NBC congressional liaison who said that 751 will be adjudicated when they schedule n400 interview and Chicago is currently working on doing cancelled interview and to follow n400 processing time on the uscis website. I know it sucks but hopefully they will soon start scheduling new interviews now that furlough has been avoided. Couple people in NJ just got their interview scheduled and they applied  I think Nov 2018 for I-751 and dec 2019 for n400 - this gives little hope that other cities may move soon

Today we received an email I-751 "case update".
The notice date is August 26, 2020 and says... "Your I-751 interview has been scheduled. We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow instructions in the mailed notice".
 
We are excited to have received ANY notice at this point in our pursuit. However, since we submitted our online N-400 on July 14, 2020, we are wondering if we will actually have the I-751 interview OR will the case get transferred somewhere again with the N-400 application.
 
Any thoughts/responses are appreciated.

Recently, you contacted us about the status of your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, filed on January 15, 2019.  On January 12, 2020, you also filed a Form N-400, Application for Naturalization.  Our records indicate that your Form I-751 and Form N-400 are currently pending and will be adjudicated at the same time.
