Can't remember exactly but I think we both had to fill out a form while on the airliner heading for USA. One thing my spouse did, also coming from Philippines is she gave away all of her "designer" handbags, watches, etc to her friends and family before we left. We didn't want to risk either of us getting into trouble for bringing in...say a counterfeit Prada bag or Rolex watch, etc... We always err on the side of caution. It would have really sucked if either of us got stopped for importing counterfeit items so we took no chances after all of the work to get her here.
    Aloha from Hawaii, David

Always must delcare what is asked about on the declaration card. If immigrations asks her other questions about what she has brought she should be fully honest with them. Hide nothing if asked.

Under normal circumstances, you should not have any problem completing the SLEC medical on Tuesday and interviewing on Thursday.
If SLEC tags you for sputum collection, the embassy will allow your interview to be delayed until you get a clean bill of health. The embassy doesn't charge you anything for that postponement.
If you had an annulment, or if you were a cutter, you will have to complete a psych evaluation which could screw up your scheduled interview. If this is the case, you could still go to your interview and plan on not getting approved until the embassy received your medical results.

I'd advice to not schedule both so close to each other. Anything can happen during the medical. From forgotten documents to them finding something etc. But this is purely because I scheduled my medical -thankfully- 3 weeks before my interview and during my medical we found out I needed more proof of my TB treatment. That time overlapped getting all the documents ready and being ready for the interview.

As far as I know they would like 1-2 weeks between medical and interview. Even says it through CEAC.
My partner tried to do that. Monday-Tuesday medical and Wednesday appointment. I made him reschedule the interview though.
Also, just incase, you never know how smoothly the medical might go. What if something came up during the process(Hoping not!!) but just saying.
Also, the embassy requires 72 notice if rescheduling. So if the medical didn't go smoothly, you might be out the interview fee and have to reschedule and pay again for another date.
    Just some thoughts.

Yeah I remember when I renewed mine, I didn't need to submit another NSO birth certificate.
Have you checked with her as well on what are the other differences between the one issued by the NSO with the one from the civil registrar? Like what I mentioned on what I saw as difference with mine?
Anyhow, as what melonshake said just let her go to the interview with the one that she currently have. Who knows this is not the first time the US Embassy to encounter such thing.
Good luck on your journey !

What name is she using in her passport?
I say just go through the interview, then, if the CO would advise you to have it corrected or what, work from there...

Did they make a mistake? My partner got his and had no such hand writing or corrections.. I might inquire to them about it and ask for a new copy.

2 months?! What?! Are you ordering online? We ordered a copy of his birth certificate (3 copies) and his CENOMAR and it was delivered in like 14 days.
If... if you cannot get a new copy in time. Definately explain the issue when your fiance presents the birth certificate. Maybe the embassy is used to seeing these "corrections" and will accept it.
Otherwise, worst case is, you order it now, and at the interview they request you to supply a new copy. But you will have already ordered it so you will be a head of the game so to say.

That is interesting. Let me try to ask my partner(the Filipino) and see if he has seen that before. Might be awhile...time difference you know.
Maybe some of the other senior Philippines members have come across this type of thing.
Best case again at this point is go to the interview with your copy, because also your fiance has the passport to show, so confirmation everything is correct. Maybe they are familiar/used to this type of mistake/correction.
Worst case, they request a new copy after the interview....
I'll see if I can get an answer from my partner.

Hi, even if you ask for another copy you will still get the same one as you currently have. From what I can see, the person who wrote her name in the form wrote is as Analiza instead of Analisa in which the preson who reported the birth corrected him/her on how they want it to be spelled. NSO basically just "scanned" the original that they have that they received from the local registrar many years back. I'm curious though about the civil birth certificate. Can you take a snap as well? Just so you know, I have 3 different looks of my birth certificate.
And BTW NSO issued birth certificate is needed when we need to apply for a passport, did she get the same type then?

and with regards to immunization, if you still have the copy of your immunization record, you have to bring them with you in your scheduled medical exam. If you dont, they will give you what vaccines do you need. It is included in your medical examination fee package.

Once you have MNL# from NVC you can:
1.) go to BPI and pay for interview (keep receipt)
    2.) schedule interview online
    3.) complete DS-160 online
4.) Preregister for medical exam at St. Lukes
Following Greenbaum’s guide (and any advice he might give you) will make things go a lot smoother.

ptardy1 reacted to MsCompE in US Citizen to marry Philippine citizen?
Was on the same boat. I had a 10year multiple entry visa for USA. 2days before I left US, my fiance proposed and I could no longer extend my trip as I am expected in Cebu Facility by the next day. We discussed over it on how to carried out. Below are the points we considered:
    - when we get married, where do we intend to settle down? in PH? or in US?
    - what are the documentation needed?
In our case, we wanted to settle down in US as my fiance cant give up his work there. We knew that entering on B2 (tourist visa) with the intent to get married and adjust status is a form of visa fraud. Since I am already in the Philippines, we came down into either marrying in PH or obtaining a fiance visa. I wasnt into the idea of him coming down to Philippines and marrying here.
    - First, he had to do additional paper works for leaves
    - He has to apply for Passport Book. He doesnt have one.
    - It is an additional cost for him to come down for marriage and eventually bring me with him to US.
    - Additional cost while staying PH eg accommodation (he needs AC and my place in PH doesnt have a/c...lol)
    - Marriage in PH needs more required documents (pre-cana seminar, cenomar, birth certificate, certificate of eligibility, parents advice/consent for below 25, etc) whereas in US depends per state though, you just need an ID and after 2-3 days you can get your marriage license.
We decided to apply for fiance visa although the downside is that, we need to adjust status in US after our marriage.

So it changes quite frequently, people change their appointments often. Right now the earliest available is on the 29th, but I have seen times when they have the following week open. Make the appointment when you expect to be ready and if things change and there is an open slot you can change it.
    Good Luck.

ptardy1 reacted to Longrangeshootr in K1 - no engagement party or photos with family
I agree with Penguin_ie, if you do file now would be wise to gather more evidence to take with you to the interview. I know it's tuff to juggle work with time off and the cost of the expense to travel back and forth. You could have an engagement party on the next trip. I think we spent around 1500.00 with rings we bought in Vietnam. We had it at her sisters house with close family and friends. It wasn't anything fancy, everyone decorated and we wore traditional attire. Very simple but overall effective. If your concerned at least it will give you peace of mind knowing you've done what it takes to make it thru the consulate. Others here have made it thru with far less, but is that a chance your willing to take? It wasn't for me. Good luck to you both.

While the best thing to do is move on and let USCIS know about her, if that had happened to me, i would have done the following just to piss her off.
    1. Contact immigration department at the airport to try to find what's happening with my fiance since I got the text that immigration his holding her up (though i know that's fake message).
    2. Immigration department would let me know that she was cleared for entry and she did in fact passed through the immigration and entered US.
    3. Then I would file a missing person report with the police so that they would find her one day. At least she would be scared when cops are looking for her even though they are in fact looking for her safety.
    4. Then once it comes to light that she voluntarily went with that person and didn't want to be with me at which point, cops will terminate their investigation, I would file a complaint at USCIS so that she would be given hard time int he future if she tries to get GC by marrying another USC.
