I'm a former k1, got married on 08/2018, sent the package for GC on 09/2018, filled to expedite my 765 based on a job offer and financial loss, received it on 02/2019, and currently I'm waiting for my interview date letter.

Case ready to be scheduled for an interview since 03/2019.

Boston and Lawrence are on the fast side. I’d said within 6 months of applying is a good bet, both for aos and n400

    Hello all,

I am applying for ROC with divorce waiver, my new girlfriend and I are thinking to get married in August and my 3 years GC will be in October. Do you know if I can apply for the N400 if I am married with another citizen that is not the same that sponsor the first GC.

I have read that people don't recommend to get married before the ROC because can be "" suspicious " but I think that is stupid since it a happens all the time nit just with immigrants..

Any thoughts or experiences please 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Please read the n400 instructions and see if your situation applies to the 3year requirements

  3. I recently renewed an expired passport at a Brazilian consulate in the east coast. I could’ve gotten it the same day. I didn’t because I didn’t want to wait more than an hour and the system was having hiccups that particular day.

a Brazilian citizen can walk in at the consulate and ask to be seen. That happened on the day I was there.

I just checked and it is not. Everything has been scheduled through Los Angeles but I just checked and it looks like my new zip code pointed me towards San Bernardino.

    1. You failed to inform a change of address

    2. Your new address is in another offices jurisdiction

I’m not sure the odds are in your favor. They can certainly refuse to interview you.

Ive seen cases where someone was turned away on an infopass because they did not go to their local office... and that’s an infopass only.

Id make sure to contact them with the change of address first and talk to a tier 2.

good luck and please report back

We just truly didn’t understand that there was supposed to be anything in his passport that was missing. We were under the assumption that everything needed was in the envelope, including the Visa. It took me googling in this moment for me to realize there was supposed to be anything in his passport, all the information online just seemed to reiterate the sealed envelope.

It’s very basic info you missed out. But it won’t do you any good to dwell over this. Going forward though please get acquainted of your next steps so you don’t face any more hiccups. Knowledge is power. It’s very important to know everything about the process.

    best of luck

So I moved a couple of months back but did not let USCIS know for fear of having my case delayed. Will this be a problem come time for the interview? All of my documents have been updated to my new address already but I never sent in a change of address.

Was the move to a new address in the same field office jurisdiction?

  7. Now it’s water under the bridge.

but just a reminder to everyone that you should never book anything if you don’t have the visa in hand... and even when you have it in hand you need to check and make sure everything is alright.

The only thing to do now is contact the embassy, most likely send passport and sealed envelope back and they will sort things out from their end. The faster you act the faster the outcome

    good luck

I haven't received the letter in the mail yet, but I also got the USCIS notification stating that a transfer had taken place and that a new office had jurisdiction over my case.

I'm a CSC filer, and this is the most recent update that I see at present: "On May 20, 1019, we received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number [XXX], at your local office."

I'm waiting to have my naturalization interview scheduled. When I filed N-400, I requested to have the two cases decided at the interview, so I understand it's right for my local office to have the case now.

If I receive the letter and it says something different, I'll let you know!

How can you ask them to have both interviews together?

  9. If you read the post, it said people were not denied but asked to give more info/ documents. That’s what happened with them as well.

If you have provided enough proof, have a real relationship, no red flags, etc, you should be fine.

And at this point, knowing that the usc won’t able to take time off anyway, why worry about something you can’t change?

I'm drawing a blank here but whats the name of the form we have to fill out if the process is taking longer than 1 year?  The extension?

    thanks in advance.

I checked the status of our process and nothing has changed.

Roc processing time is 18 months, that’s why you got a 18month extension letter... waiting a year is normal.

if it takes longer and your 18 months are about to expire though you can try and get an infopass schedule to request a stamp on your passport

Well i have shown the proof from start as 2014  because i had that history in my FaceTime and then right 2017 and 2018 2019. Hopefully that will be enough because requirement is 2 years  but you know questions was ridiculous. I have seen people from 10 years relationship but yes as i am not brazilian maybe thats the point.  But i did whatever i had and lets see what they do.

The requirement for the i129f is to have met within 2 years prior to filing it but in no way they narrow it down for the proof of relationship required at the interview. When it’s up to the consulate/ immigration officer, they can pretty much ask or request anything they want to. Rdj is not a hard one, so that’s uncommon. Hopefully it’s not a new trend for whoever is going forward right now.

let us know how it goes
