  1. The wife was probably trying to withdraw herself from the joint filling of the i751, so it would be his alone and that would trigger a rfe for divorce waiver and possibly an interview.

it will most likely make them call you for an interview. I’d expect this to come up and would make sure to have lots of evidence of a good faith marriage to overcome this, besides a very good explanation

good luck and be sure to come back and report your experience

    Thanks for the reply @p-ana

With the unrestircted SSN, can I apply for a job located in U.S via online jobpost (i.e LinkedIn) and then apply for the working visa in case of getting accepted?

You can apply for jobs as much as you want but they usually ask you f you’re authorized to work, which you are not

please research work visas. You don’t apply for them, it’s the company hiring you that will do that

I'm at the interview stage. Gathering the rest of my documents and waiting for my fiancé(sponsor) to send me the affidavit of support form, so I can schedule the interview. I don't know if anyone was ever denied a visa because of affidavit of support (not meeting the required income)?

You won’t be straight out denied but they will ask for a sponsor. It can be a LPR or USC that meets the income requirements. So best to work on that not to delay your case further.

for the k1 it’s not binding for the sponsor but for aos it is so it’s better to discuss in length with them. It’s not just a piece of paper and they will be financially liable for you for a long time.

    good luck

    Hi guys!

I am currently waiting for my visa interview for Permanent Residency (K1 Visa).  Is it ok if I work from home here in Texas? which is obviously a US Company.  I passed all the exams, however they want to set up an interview via skype, I am just wondering if it is legal.  Any advise will be of great help.  Thank you

Do you have authorization to work? If yes, go ahead and start working. If not, wait/ file for it before starting.

Leaving my overall experience in this thread for future reference

Medical: I did my medical in Brasilia (I live here). It was very easy, the doctor's secretary was very helpful and friendly, the blood tests and x-ray are all done in the same building. I was able to use my health insurance for all exams, which was cool (less money to spend). The doctor is also very nice, explained everything to me, gave me the "vaccination record" we are supposed to bring at POE. Overall, good doctor place to go, if you live around Brasilia area

Interview: CR-1 Interview, easy, quick, they didn't ask me many questions (when and how we met, how many times we saw each other). Embassy was very busy, but everything was organized, expect waiting for few hours. Appointment was at 8:20, arrived that 7:30-ish, left 9:30-ish

Visa Delivery: I paid for the premium delivery thing, it arrived 3-4 BUSINESS days after they shipped it (from Rio to Brasilia!), so if you live in a city where there is a CASV to pick it up, I wouldn't recommend it. Not as fast as I expected, for the price I paid.

The vaccination records (ds3025) is NOT to be handed to the officer at poe. It’s yours to keep, it’s great as history for when you go to the doctors here.
