  1. We've been on the hunt for a rental home, since I had to quit work and my husband just got a job. We wanted to buy but it's not possible as I'm unemployed now, and he's newly employed. The job is paying him to relocate closer to the company. It's only an hour commute, but the roads get bad in the winter. So they are worried for that reason. Anyways, finding a rental close to my kids father seems to be impossible. Their father is also wanting to be an *** and saying that he won't drive them to school , if I move outside of his area. The drive would be maybe 20 mins for him, and the schools here are very very good about letting out for bad roads,  or even the weather forcasting it. He's already driving them 20 mins now to school, so there's no difference. So, tomorrow I have to go to the courts and file a motion to go back to court, and have this worked out. Even though im the primary custodial parent, and I can technically move so far. I'm trying to do the right thing.  Fingers crossed it all works out. It's stressing me out.

people get jealous.. however, it is a legal path that as long as you entered on a visa (any visa) you can go from a visa -> greencard and nothing will change that.  honestly, more scammers are sitting behind their computers begging someone to come to their country and bring them here because they can not get visitor visas. so really, it works both ways because i think that many more of those obvious visa scams should not be denied.

regarding the OP, the CBP was just giving you a warning.  also, some CBP do not even understand how it works (you getting a K1 has no bearing on how long you visit this time). the ONLY thing that would have changed it is if you have a stamp in your passport asking you to return by that date (or a change in your online i94). every time you cross, you will have this problem.  hopefully you get that K1 soon!

Exactly. I believe the ones who make it the hardest on us, are the ones who marry a US citizen with an intent to get a greencard only. That doesn't happen only with people AOS'ing in the US. It happens on CR1/IR1, k1, and other visas as well.

    1.  Until a few years ago, it used to be Sat.-Sun. only, and now it's only Fri.-Sat., for some reason ma'am.

    2.  See 1., see ma'am.

Many.  Deprived Nola-B.!  Deprived, DEPRIVED Nola-B.!

Yes here in my area it's Thursdays, Friday's and some on Saturdays. I can't pass up a good bargain, so I put the bed rest on hold for a few hours, and went on the hunt. It's not like I'm really laying in bed when I'm home anyways.

We have a magnificent number (specifically, Many) of GSs* & ESs** itineraried for Saturday, whee man.

*GS = garage sale, glee man

**ES = estate sale, glee man

That's what we were doing. Garage sales all morning. Actually found some good bargains.

Job interview went well.  But I'm honest if I'm not sure I want it.

It's a great job and will pay better than my current job.  As it's at a vet clinic I'd get reduced pricing on my pets needs as well.

BUT I don't see much upward growth in it.   Whereas if I"m patient with my current job, I could eventually manage a club and even move up from there.

But it's full time hours, better pay than I currently make and could be a career type job if I'm content with staying in one position.

That's a tough one. I say, take the job you think you'll be the most happy at. I mean money makes a difference of course, but if you hate what you do, you'll be miserable most of the time anyways. But who really enjoys working after all? Hmm....

It's been a long exhausting day for me today so off to catch some zzzz's. Goodnight!

Oh gosh if I had to have bed rest, the kids would need to be in daycare and I'd demand a cleaning lady.

What is this 8 hours of sleep thing?  More like 4-5 hours is a good night.

I'm going to bet way more then we can possibly ever imagine.

    I know eh!

I'm lucky to get 4 a night. I think it's catching up with me too. I would be drinking coffee like crazy if well I liked it. I can't stand the stuff.  It's also a new thing I'm selling and have no idea how I can market it when I hate hate hate coffee :girlwerewolf2xn:

Since the kids are in school it's helped in me getting a bit more sleep. But not always 8 hours. I absolutely hate coffee myself. Can't even stand the smell. But oh how I love my southern style sweet tea. Sugary and caffeine. You can't beat it.

Welcome, Meg! I hope things proceed smoothly for you, but bedrest!?! I don't know what Doctors are thinking sometimes. That works if you have no other kiddies, perhaps a cook and a housekeeper, but otherwise, I don't know what they expect you to do. The best you can, I suppose :)

Thank you! And exactly. I can't even sit down for 2 minutes without "mom I'm hungry, mom so and so is hitting me, mom I'm thirsty, mom i fell" So trying to lay in a bed is just impossible.

Good morning!!  Welcome, M - ma'am mama! Hope that bed rest doesn't last long.

I've been having a busy week. I tried to post every time I had a break but I got sucked into busy land again.

One person from my staff went to HR to complain about me because I pulled her aside and told her she needs to stop walking around and not make her own operational decisions. I could give more details but I am always fearful that, even being vague, it will come back to bite me in the rear. Trust me though, I'm not exaggerating or micromanaging. HR was on my side. Apparently I also forgot her birthday and she complained about that too..... (lucky if I remembered my own birthday this year, thanks to Mini-C).

    Let the day begin!

Thank you!! I hope so too.

Welcome, Meg. Good luck with your pregnancy.

I've got nothing this morning, but at least this *new* thread will now show up in my "not read" feed.

    Thank you very much!!

This morning has been a bit rough for me. Had to have an injection. Instead of the nurse giving it to me in my hip (where it normally goes), she was new to this apparently and gave it in my bum instead!! It burns very very badly. I can hardly sit down. I want to cry, but can't help but to laugh.  :crying:

Hi Meg, welcome to the home of random and general rant 😀

    Good luck getting bed rest...

    Thank you!! :D

    Welcome

Oh man bedrest. I swear doctors think that is a miracle saying and the older kids will just let that happen. Take it easy as you can.

Thanks. Exactly! The most bed rest I get is 8 hours at night. Haha. It doesn't help that the kids are on fall break, so they've been at home all week. But we've enjoyed it. Now back to school next week!!

So what's up in your life, ma'am?

Let us know, please ma'am. :)

My life. Well where do I start? Haha. What's not up with my life is more like it. 4 kids, and expecting another. Things are never dull around here. I'm 27 weeks pregnant and the baby is wanting to make his arrival a little too early. So doctor has put me on bed rest. Which is an unfamiliar term with 4 kids. It's a joke almost. But I've been trying to take it as easy as I can. The husband just landed a new job 2 weeks ago, so that's a plus.

You are welcome here, si man/ma'am.  Are you the man or the ma'am, huh man/ma'am?

Thank you! The ma'am. I should've made that clear as the name is a bit confusing at times.

  12. Hey everyone! I have been on VJ for a bit, but never really got to conversate with any of you besides the comments on posts. I happened to venture outside of my usual VJ forums, and found this. So it wanted to chime in and say hello.

  13. As @KULtoATL stated, you will need more face time. Ghana is by far one of the hardest embassies to obtain a visa from. How long were you there visiting? The proposal on the first trip on day 7 isn't going to work in your favor. That screams red flag to me, so you can imagine a CO that's already looking for a reason to deny you. This is an embassy that you really need to front load your petition. Lots of proof of relationship, time spent, phone and video calls, photos, photos of you with family, hotel and ticket stubs. Anything and everything. If I were you though, I'd seriously rethink filing the k1 just yet. Go visit some more.

I haven't heard back from my lawyer yet, but despite evidence to the contrary she's under the impression that I need a new medical exam done. I immigrated from Canada last month and had an exam done for my K-1 visa in June of this year. Meaning, if this forum and the instructions on the I-693 are right, that I'm well within a year of the medical. I have a fully completed (and marked as such) DS-3025 vaccination form as well as the receipt breakdown that shows I had full tests done for TB, gonorrhea, etc. from my first exam.

I should be good just to give those (or at least the DS-3025) to my lawyer, right? I can't understand why my lawyer is insistent on a new exam and I'd love to avoid paying for one I don't necessarily need. What do I do?

    Get rid of your lawyer.

As long as she didn't enter with the intention to marry and stay and adjust.  It's fine to enter to marry. It's the 2nd part that matters. This was determined at POE. She can file to adjust status just fine.

Yes sorry. I shouldve added to stay and adjust. Thas what I was trying to say just didn't get it all out.  lol

I'm sorry, but one week is not enough to establish a trend, and you don't give up on a marriage after one bad week that might be the result of a short-term problem. And two comments doesn't mean he's a manipulative #######, we all say things when we're pissed (justifiably or not, like in his case) that are overly hurtful at times. I mean, after one bad week in a marriage if you're ready to pack your bags and leave then you need to not ever get married in the first place.

It's not just one bad week of marriage. Its the verbal and emotional abuse, especially having a child involved. You don't stay around for more of that.  Because sooner or later the emotional and verbal abuse is probably going to turn into physical abuse.
