Here's ours at CSC (California Service Center):

    1/25/19, Filed ROC
    4/29/19, Biometrics Appt Completed

No transfer and no case status update since the first "case received" update. Citizenship N-400 window opened up late October 2019 but have not filed. We're going to wait at least until the initial extension letter expires before we think about filing the N-400.

Just a heads up... even though he "files" the taxes tomorrow they're not actually being submitted/sent over yet. The IRS system isn't open to accept e-Filing until Feb 12th and some forms aren't even finalized yet. He can certainly start it off though so you can see some estimates.

    Update:

Literally moments ago we just got an email notifying of a case status update for my wife and (2) kids... "New Card Is Being Produced"!!!

I don't think anybody outside of this community even has an idea of the emotions running through you when you see that notification come in LOL 😂 Thank you to everyone on here who in one way or another has helped out even with just a simple response. After literally like two weeks shy of 2 years since the I-751 was received - THANK GOD WE ARE DONE.

Hang in there to those still waiting!

    Update:
We received an RFE and so I finally put together the response packet. I mailed it yesterday via USPS Express and got delivery confirmation this morning.

To my UPMOST surprise, moments ago, I got an email notification that the case was updated. Went online to USCIS case status and sure enough the case was updated to reflect, "Response To USCIS' Request For Evidence Was Received".

Given all the backlog, I wasn't expecting a same-day as packet received case status update but I sure am glad! [Crossing our fingers now for an approval!]

You won't have a tax transcript but you definitely have a wage & income transcript. It's just a suggestion as a precautionary measure though. Good luck!

For all us January 2019 filers at the CSC (Calif Service Center) who are still waiting and haven't received an update:

I just checked processing times and the receipt date for case inquiry right now is December 3, 2018. So we're about a month away from being able to start submitting the "case out of normal processing" service request.

MariaR323 got a reaction from qrk in Stimulus with pending AOS?
Regarding the stimulus: It wasn't necessary for the 2019 tax return to have been filed to receive the stimulus since they were also able to base it on the 2018 tax filing. So here goes.. all on assumption basis since you didn't mention any amounts:

Your husband probably received a $1,200 stimulus based on his 2018 tax filing (assuming he filed single with no child dependents). Then, you filed a joint 2019 tax return and listed the same bank account for dir dep. IRS processed the 2019 tax return and now you're in the system and you haven't received your stimulus yet so the issued it using the same bank account listed on the tax return - assuming another $1,200 stimulus payment was received.

It's $1,200 each on a joint tax return.

Ah yes good point about the digital... I think she is going to have to eventually do it like you said.
But good point on the IRS Tax Payer Assistance centers!! She lives in Illinois and I checked and they are not open yet but Ill look/keep an eye out. Do you have any idea if can she drive to another state if the offices are open there? I wonder if they will help people from a different state.  I just checked and it seems there are Indiana offices open, but nothing in IL. We will call and ask.
Thanks so much for the suggestion!

It is odd how there are such huge differences in processing times between cases.

I too was at California, a April 2019 filer, and was approved just a few days short of a year (7 days before the 1 year filing anniversary, and 4 days before my N-400 eligible date).
This, while people who filed in freakin December 2018, January 2019 etc are still waiting. It makes zero sense, and I can see how it's irritating people. I think I would have filed the N-400 if I was in that situation and eligible to do so. Then at least I'd be in line for that very last process of the immigration journey.

But I can also see why you'd want to have the ROC done and dusted before starting a completely new process. And not everyone is eligible or wants to file for citizenship either.

I feel you!! 😩 My letter will expire in 6 months. I hope I can get an answer before that. I just don’t understand how some people who filed a little after me already have their new GC and I feel all left out and in limbo haha. ☹️

it is my understanding that if your letter expires you can call to make an appointment to get a stamp on your passport, (according to their website they are planning on opening offices on June 4th), you can also submit a case inquiry in you go over normal processing times posted on: https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/.
Here is more info on case inquiries:

MariaR323 got a reaction from Martacz in Paying an accountant to do taxes - what to include + stimulus check
Regarding the stimulus: a couple filing jointly with an AGI (adjusted gross income) of up to $150,000 would receive the full $2,400 payment ($1,200 each).

Next, for filing the 2019 tax return, immigration fees are not tax deductible.

    Good luck!

Yes, I tried to make that clear but thanks for chiming in on that.

All: Again, do-it-yourself software does not allow attaching these type of election statements as PDFs (as far as I know). However, it can be done, but using professional tax software that is available to registered tax preparers who are authorized as e-File providers.

So, basically, if you want to e-File a tax return and include the election statement - you should make an appt with a tax preparer.

One more thing to add... you actually can e-File since the SSN for your spouse was issued in 2019 and the e-Filing is being done in 2020. However, most do-it-yourself tax software doesn't have the option to include that election statement via a PDF attachment. Professional tax software does so my suggestion, for faster processing, would be to go to an independent tax preparer and ask first before you engage them if they can attach that statement.

I say the above to ask first because I'm not sure if ALL professional tax software has that function - I would assume so.

I did the same and there is only one case with interview scheduled in December (three spots before me) , one case transferred and most of them like mine show "case was updated to show fingerprints .. bla bla" .Come on California..... let's move a little bit! If they take that order I am almost there!

So I checked 100 case numbers before mine, and 100 after.  I am in a slight panic now because mine is the only one in that range that is still stuck on “case was received”, so, naturally I am convinced that mine wound up in a shredder box, or fell off a pile, or inadvertently got archived somewhere.  I am half kidding, where the half is more like a quarter.
