Actually, there is a bill being mooted that will limit legal immigration by half. If passed, and this might be a fairly large if, spouses and minor children are not to be affected. It would eliminate the preference for siblings and adult children.

Not Illegals, Undocumented, and no it was wider hence Comprehensive.
 
We all have ties to family, one of the factors to take into consideration when moving, obviously they can not be that strong otherwise you would not have moved half way around the world.

Absolutely. But you have to wait like others and follow the game rules. Remember that immigration is not a right, it's a privilege. And you're not better than other people who applied before you and have been waiting for years already. Why others should wait 12+ years to immigrate while you should not? Give me any reason why.

That's not her personal views, that's how it works to get a work visa. American workers should be hired first (by American they mean everyone living legally in the US), if they can't find an American that can do the job they are allowed to sponsor for a visa for a foreigner. 

No, there is no way for you to sponsor your brother after entering the country. If that were the case many would do so. Even in the spouse/parent category where the wait is shorter, it's illegal to enter the country with the intent to stay and adjust status. It's visa fraud. 
 
Also, without an advanced, very specialized degree there is no way for him to get a work visa. US employers are only allowed to hire foreigners to fill jobs if they cannot find a US citizen or green card holder to fill their positions. In other words, we give jobs to US workers before foreigners. Which is a good thing. Wouldn't be fair for a citizen to lose a job to a foreigner who would be willing to take a job for less money so they can enter the country.

Not all of us come from countries that view the US that way. Just saying, I think your view of other countries is also a bit off.

Sorry for your troubles, it was very similar for me, let him go back, usually immigrants later regret leaving and ask to come back to US again. If you feel unsafe, and as I see you do, you have a good job, longer you stay married, more you could be responsible for alimony or his bills even if no AOS the judge can see he needs a financial support during and after divorce. If you are worrying about the financial part, file the annulment, see all paperwork online, I did it myself. The annulment is more expensive than a divorce but there is the part, if the judge doesn't believe you can have the annulment, he/she gives you the divorce anyway.
 
If your husband doesn't sign, you will need to do the legal publication in his country or in your state and let him know, I showed him the legal publication in chat online, it's enough prove you told him as in the legal publication he will have the court place, case # and he can appeal or contest it, usually he is given 20 days after publication.
 
Don't wait 1 year to divorce if you believe you will do it anyway, do it ASAP, he can make debts or more troubles for you if you stay longer. It's a very hard time for you and it will be long healing. Good Luck! My prayers for you

One State's laws may be different than another's, but my relative got an annulment months after they were married, and I can guarantee they had sexual relations, lived together, traveled together. She got it for "Concealment" because he concealed the fact that he used illegal drugs (cocaine). Maybe that would work with the alcoholism for you.

He's made it clear you are not a priority. Let him leave do not file for AOS. Talk to a lawyer you never consummated the marriage and he seems to have kept a drinking problem from you. If this man was in love with you he would want to be intimate with his wife. I understand not before marriage but after getting married, he should have been sweeping you off you feet and carrying you to bed. (ok ya a bit exaggerated but you get the idea)
 
Now to point out a few things from your post. Yes you can apply for EAD before AOS, but here's the thing. It takes forever and a day to come in and expires the same time his 90 days are up. 
He's being emotionally abusive and manipulative. 
At this point you are not financially responsible for him.
Don't worry about him leaving before you start divorce preceding. It's really not that big of a deal to have him served if you know his where about. If you don't the courts can tell you how to do it by publication. Him leaving without a fight is better then getting him to sign papers.

I was one of 5029 in the morning session, so there was probably another ~5000 in the afternoon! 10k+ in Los Angeles in one day...wow!
