zilchfox got a reaction from Heather&Kevin in Greencard extension expired... what now?
I believe you have already got the ball rolling on an InfoPass appointment, so just a few tips:
    - Make sure to bring your expired green card and extension letter
    - Bring in any NOAs for pending cases (I-751 of course, and N-400 if you have it)
    - Don’t forget your foreign passport!

They’ll most likely confiscate the green card to be shredded, then they will put a stamp in your passport. I had to go through the exact same process as you, except I got my InfoPass appointment just a few days before my extension letter expired. Good luck!

Your I-551 stamp will lose its validity at the date of the oath, just like a greencard. During oath you become a USC and an LPR document is no longer valid to enter the US. You’ll need to wait for the US passport. If you cannot postpone travel, you may want to consider rescheduling the oath for after travel.

Thanks! I ended up getting an appointment this Sunday at a public library.

I can. It was actually super abbreviated. All you do is show up with your completed N-445, give your green card (or reason why you don't have one to give, they asked why I didn't have one in my case (expired, already surrendered at InfoPass Appointment months prior)), then you sit down at a chair after they give you a mini US flag with a number on a post-it note attached to it. Due to social distance guidelines, only interpreters and caregivers are allowed with you, otherwise you must be alone. They asked us not to take any photos. Once they had all the chairs filled up, the lady came to the podium, explained that the oath was extremely abbreviated so no videos will be shown. All we did was repeat the oath after her, and then she congratulated us and in orderly fashion we left, while handing in our post-it note numbers to exchange for our naturalization certificate as we were leaving the room. Minus wait time to fill chairs, the whole oath took less than 3 minutes. I was in and out of the building in 30 minutes.

I assume you've been looking through USPS's passport appointment website? That happens on their system.

    Try looking here: https://iafdb.travel.state.gov/

if you enter zipcode, it will list all facilities nearby. From there you can go to that facility's website. Many offer walk-ins without appointments. Hope that helps.

My journey with USCIS has come to an end, thank God 🙏🏾. My oath ceremony was this past weds in Chicago and I’m currently in the process of applying for my passport. Thank you guys for the support and the company. God speed and good luck to each and everyone of you in your future endeavors as American citizens. Congratulations 🎉🎊🍾

They will ask for it to confiscate it right before the oath ceremony. I didn't have one since I had an I-551 stamp, and they even asked me why I had a stamp instead of the card (it was expired, and they took it away when I got the stamp), and they will write the reasons you give them on the top of the N-445 you received.

Speaking of the oath ceremony, as of today, I am officially an American citizen! 🇺🇸

Check again, this morning it wasn't showing for me, neither, but...

I checked this afternoon, and the online portal updated and now shows me my Oath Ceremony letter, to be sworn in on March 19th! Just under a month away! 🇺🇸

I got notification that my oath ceremony was scheduled. It’s been a couple days now since the notice and it’s still not showing on my profile. I guess I’ll just wait on snail mail. I’m elated at the fact that I’ll be done with USCIS.

Not gonna lie, but if I were in OP’s shoes, to me that would be a dealbreaker on the marriage, lying about having a kid and a previous marriage— those are huge relationship bombshells to drop. Forget USCIS, even if it was a domestic marriage stuff like that would make me wonder what else he was lying about. Why wait until he was caught to tell the truth? Probably because he is actually trying to commit green card fraud.

I’m sorry about all this, OP.

Yes, I've read this passage repeatedly. In case my question was not clear, I'm looking to understand exactly what words others have used in similar situations. I'll mildly ask you to leave me, and this thread alone, unless you've actually had experience with this. I'm looking to speak with others who have.

This is absolutely incorrect. It states right on the Immigration website the declaration is presented during the interview. If you haven't actually had experience, please don't waste my time.

Just received my I-797 NOA, Approval Notice for my I-751 case. It also references my N-400 in this same letter. Here's the contents so you know what to expect when you pass a combo I-751/N-400 interview. A digital copy of this letter was not available on the myUSCIS website, so I didn't completely expect it:

Case Type: I-751 - Petition To Remove Conditions On Residence
    Receipt Number: SRCXXXXXXXXXX
    Notice Type: Approval Notice
Notice Date: 02/04/2021 (same date as my interview)

"We have approved your I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence. Our records also indicate we have approved your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization. Because we also approved your N-400, you will not receive a new Permanent Resident Card (also known as a Green Card). Instead, once you have taken the Oath of Allegiance, you will receive a Certificate of Naturalization, which will be proof of your U.S. citizenship. If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact the USCIS Contact Center at 800-375-5283."

All you need to do is to fill out DS-11 form along with 1 passport size picture ,original NC and ID (DL). You can pay $35 at USPS acceptance center and $140 fees for passport book ($110) and passport card ($30). You can pay through cheque or money order/bank draft etc

Finally done with Immigration process. Had my last interaction with USCIS yesterday for Oat ceremony and now I am official US citizen. Thank you all for helping me to get through this! Now that I am US citizen, my next plan is to apply for US passport. What documents need to be submitted, Original Naturalization certificate, 2 passport size picture, checking account fees of $110 along with DS-11 that's it? Can I pay through my checking account cheque book instead of paying through money order or bank draft of $110?

Did anyone recently applied for US passport in pandemic? How long would it take to get the passport and original Naturalization certificate back?

It is not appropriate to call another group  of human being illegal merely because they don’t posses a documented status. This type of rhetorics were used to put Japanese Americans into concentration camps.

I do understand it is frustrating and can be very challenging at times contacting/dealing with USCIS. I do encourage you to contact your local senators or congress members for support. They will be able to help you and get you an answer.
