Bold talk for someone who's country will only accept a few thousand folks.. Accept 2-3 million males and when they send for their families of a half a dozen children all on the government dole. ... Then sit back and wait 20 years. See what shape your country will be in . Jihad will come to the streets. And not in a nice way.

That no one seems to care about a blatant attempt to circumvent audit controls put in place by an act of Congress speaks poorly for our electorate.
The longer Hillary's poll numbers stay high, the more I'm convinced that this country no longer deserves to elect its own government.

Gender identity is a real thing but it requires an adult mind to choose what to do since it is not easly reversed. I feel bad for a child going through this but to let a 15 year old make this decision is very wrong. I would support them exploring dressing and identifying with the gender they feel like they are but to make the step of surgury should be delayed until adulthood.

Pointing out the big problem here. What about the out of state drivers? I drive a lot for a living and most of it isn't in my own state. This would require interstate cooperation. That would inevidently involve the feds in any solution. That would start yet another federal agency intruding in the states business.

By all means then, rant away. If it makes you "feel better" and like you have "done something" then knock yourself out. I will be behind my computer screen laughing at you. It seems that for some empathy is a goal in itself.
ETA: Stop assigning opiions to me. Your last comment "Your empathy for gun violence victims appears to be lacking but of course it flies in the face of your cry for freedom." is a red herring. I didn't comment on anything but the futility of ranting about guns in America. Stick to what I said in your comments about me.

Abandon all logic those who enter CEHST.
Remember it is all about making some people feel good, nothing more.

I didn't express a opinion either way. I just pointed out that it is a moot point to begin with. I think your reading comprehention (sp?) needs some work.

Actually it does. Not tolerating anything is the very definition of intolerant. I think a lot of people mistake tolerance for acceptance.

GaryC reacted to LibCampFireClub in Gov. Scott Walker: ‘I don’t know’ whether Obama is a Christian
Since the birth of our nation, our country has embraced all manner of viewpoints and defended the right to speak freely. Even when that speech is not something the majority likes to hear. It is very difficult for anyone other than someone who agrees with your viewpoint to respond. For example, here is a sample of your very words laid out in a little different format:
    My response:
    1. Can you explain what it means for someone to:
    a. Be "evangelical"?
    b. What is your source for this conclusion?
    2. Bear false witness? In today's language, that means "lie". You openly are accusing Scott Walker to lying in his response to the question as to whether or not he thinks Obama is a Christian. To your point, not a single word in his reply showed that he had the power or capacity to make that determination. Rather, he showed clear mindedness by showing there are only two sources for that answer: 1. From Obamas lips: 2. God, and god is not answering the phone.
    3. Quantum and unsubstantiated leap. First, when it comes to Christian theology, most non-Christians and even weekend Christians go the "Don't judge" route. Instead, you went the "bear false witness" route. That means you believe Scott Walker fully lied in his reply and that it's evident he lied. The major trouble with your premise is the non-existence of anything remotely related to him saying he witness something that you believe was a lie.
    4. Who are Christian Extremists, and how do you know if you met one?
    5. Americans are not machines. Every breathing human on earth is a product of what's happening upstairs. That happening was formulated by their upbringing, trials, tribulations, successes, failures, faith or lack of it, religion or lack of it, and so on.
If a Christian asked you to dinner, would you ask for an escort, or just turn them down flat?

What's not fair is how so many unions have forgotten their original reason for being, to represent and advocate for their members, and become political fundraising and agitating entities. Until they return to their core purpose, they will be fair game for this kind of legislative action.

So, Al Jazeera, never a friend of Israel, reports that Hezbollah may be "preparing a new front against Israel along the Golan Heights" and you instantly accuse the Israeli PM of wanting to start a war.

Mossad is one of the best, most effective intelligence agencies in the world. Like them, or not, there is no deying they get the job done with a success rate that the CIA and MI6 can only look at in envy.
As for an agreement this lopsided benefitting the USA, nothing could be further from the truth. Should the Iranian regime military gain the capability to field operational nuclear weapons, then the likelihood of them using them, either themselves, or by proxy, would likely advance the Doomsday Clock up a couple of minutes.
Right now, like them or not, Israel is the least dangerous, most predictable nation in the region. Their idea of peace is preventing their neighbours waging war against them. Regardless of their actions and conflict with the Palestinians, the majority of their Arab neighbours will not recognise, nor will they make peace with, the State of Israel.
So keep believing your fairy tale world of a peace-loving, nuclear-capable Iran and an Israel that can make peace with nations that want nothing less than to see it wiped off the map, and let the rest of the world deal with reality.

I am glad to hear that only the just because someone is Muslim, they don't need to condemn the act if they did not do it. Agree 100%
So by their logic we can take reparations and apologizes for slavery off the table, since no one living did it. I mean why should we have to apologize for something just cause we are white ?
    Right ?

GaryC reacted to unsmiley in Utah cuts costs and homelessness rates by giving people homes
Better to give someone even a "make work" job, and have them pay their own rent, than to give away homes. But this society is hell bent on giving away the store for nothing in return.
Being cheaper is not always better, or in society's best interest.

GaryC reacted to Teddy B in Van Jones: Charles Barkley’s Comments Were ‘Inflammatory,’ ‘Irresponsible’ and ‘Dangerous’
It amazes me how anyone, no matter their color, gets vilified for siding with law enforcement. It all kinda boils down to "not being black enough", doesn't it? It's like B_J said, there can be no discussion regarding race relations until people approach the issue with complete honesty.
Every time one of these incidents happens, it makes the divide between the races wider and I find myself caring less and less about wanting to improve anything.

He did not get killed for robbing, or stealing from, the store. He got killed for attacking an officer, trying to take his gun, and then charging at him. That will get you killed.
