I sincerely hope that the family was notified before the decision was announced. I know that they were upset that they found out via media outlets that a decision had been reached. Now bring on the civil suit.

No indictment. Believe that grand jury has given this due consideration and probably sided on the side of indicting given the publicity and climate leading up to the decision. The fact that they have not handed down an indictment tells me that there's nothing there to base the indictment on. Time to move on.

Right on! We know how little Americans value life. I think police should open fire whenever they feel necessary whether or not a person is armed or not. I vote for a more militarized country. I think Kim Jong should become our president.

There was an in depth review of the evidence by the grand jury who - knowing the potential implications of a decision no to indict the officer - decided not to hand down an indictment. There's nothing there to charge the officer with. If there was, they would have handed down an indictment.
