She won't have been denied for being beautiful. You've said she appeared to them to be without strong ties to her home country. You were not present I assume? Difficult to know exactly what was said then.

It's not OK. And Yeah, an above average sense of humor is a basic requirement just to stay alive through this.
Seriously though, it's just not funny. It's NOT okay that families are kept apart, not because of the requirements for additional screening or even in the interests of security, but solely due to bad management, incompetence and complete apathy. These are people's lives. People are not case numbers or bar codes. We are real people with hopes and dreams.
What is also really sad is that this forum was for people to share information and experiences, have a safe place to vent and get support and understanding ... yet the system, NOT the people, have caused a deep and painful divide between CSC and TSC filers. It's like a 'them and us' situation. Poor case load management and glossing over of an ever growing problem has caused it to become progressively severe over time. It's like taking two kids, putting them in a room and giving one of them a bag of candy and a big box of cool toys and saying: "Have fun, but you can't share with your friend."
We are through TSC now, but I honestly still feel quite raw about the whole experience and how it affected me. It took a toll on my emotions, my family, friendships fell apart because people thought I was making things up as I went along and being hurt and super sensitive, I cut ties with them completely, family have been concerned, it took a toll on my health .... Anyone here feeling the same right now? There's nothing wrong with you and you're not weak. This is unnecessary torture.
Sorry, this is part rant and part "We know what you're going through". For what it's worth. You guys don't deserve this. Still hoping the pace picks up somehow at TSC. Still here and watching for your approvals.

Got back from the info pass meeting. So we've been waiting 225 days, and they said that we're within the processing times (yawn). The have an id number for each individual file so he was able to track our file and it had recently been touched and as of 21/4 it has been moved into an office, so basically we went from waiting in a big stack of files to a smaller one lol.
He also used to work for the NVC and said that Texas has a LOT of problems they still need to work out. Some of their major databases do not work straight and he used to deal with a lot of their ups. And as said before, K1 visas are a clear minority in the massive amounts of petitions that they deal with and that's the reason for the recent slowdown.
I wasn't expecting much from the visit and even though I'll take his estimation with a grain of salt, it gave us both some sort of peace of mind. For now ?

this visa is important for you and your partner. No lawyer, no site will be as productive as you folks yourself. lawyers / sites etc etc are there to earn money and not care about how important this process is for those folks who are going through it.
I have seen many lawyers / sites screwing people. better be safe than sorry .. Despite your tight schedule do it on your own. that's my 2 cent of thoughts

Did you not read the following? :
If it were up to me, i would complete the K1 visa since i waited 8 month until approved. However, I have to respect her and her father's wishes. I'm sure she would have done the same if she was in my place.
We don't know all the personal details of this couple but it's clear to me OP wants to respect their future spouse. That's the point of getting married right? Getting a Greencard comes secondary to loving someone.

This. I have explained the whole process numerous times to all my friends and family, and I don't even know how many times I've been asked, "how's the paperwork going?" What paperwork? I haven't had paperwork in months. All that paperwork is sitting in a box somewhere, waiting to be looked at, just like it's been for the past six months. I know people ask because they want to show they care, but if they really cared they would either try to understand or just not even ask. I post to Twitter and Facebook that everyone will know any news the second I receive it, but I still get asked questions I cannot answer. It's frustrating but I look at it as a way to help people understand how flawed the immigration system is.

Neither man or woman has the right to scream on their spouse. Regarding loans, he's happy to pay it off but his wife is being irresponsible in regards to other issues. He does not get the love one would expect from his wife. You can talk to her clearly that if does not change her attitude and cooperate, you will leave her and she would not be able to do anything against yoU. She cannot deport u.

Does the "My Cases" page get updated before a text and/or email is sent? I'm assuming this is the case, which is why I check our case status on the USCIS website multiple times a day

I did, and I still do, question if maybe I put a "N/A" where I should have left a blank, or if there was some minute detail that I messed up. Don't beat yourself up over being thorough- follow the directions to the best of your ability. Worst case scenario is an RFE.
Cards and letters are good for proof of ongoing relationship, but that is not of the utmost importance at this stage- that might be better for the interview. USCIS wants to see proof of having met within the last two years. Photos are good, but they are "secondary" evidence. Give them primary evidence- things that irrefutably prove you have met, such as passport stamps showing entry into each other's countries or receipts in their town (photocopies are fine, but make sure you have original documents in case they ask to see them).
Your table of contents will be sufficient to explain what is in your packet. They know what they are looking at and what is missing. If you'd like, you can put post it notes on documents explaining what they are. Post its should be pretty easy for the person reviewing your case to remove. I did this with basically everything in my packet, just to make myself feel better haha.

Personally we're not doing the whole song and dance wedding once I enter the US. We're going to have a simple, city hall/city office ceremony, no rings, no dresses, no guests just a witness. One day when we're both in full time jobs and we feel we're financially able we will become engaged (again! I've not technically been "properly" proposed to with a ring) and plan a big wedding for all our friends and family. Our marriage to each other in the near future will be our way of committing to each other in a serious way, but also a way for us to be together for good without worry. Our wedding in the future will be a celebration of our love and a joyous party for friends and family. Weddings are expensive, we just can't afford one right now, but we're still going to get married regardless to be together. Perhaps this is something you can consider? Getting married on paper first then waiting for the full experience when you're ready financially. A lot of couples in Japan do it this way and their weddings are still very special despite already being technically married. Something to consider!

Unless you plan on saving up a significant amount it's rather pointless.
There will be at least 4 months where you cannot work depending on when you get married.
AOS is 1070, and speaking as someone who was in your position, we had no money when I came, luckily my now husband is in a decent job and I don't exactly cost a lot other than more food.
We had to take out a credit card to pay for AOS because we would rather be in financial problems now for me to be able to work.
Just consider the fact you will be broke for a good while before you can work, and even then who knows how soon you can find a job.
I have been here since August, applied for AOS in November, very broke, bills are not always payed on time, very very bored. But in my opinion, we would rather I be here and be in these problems together than be apart any longer, took us 8 years to get to this place.
    Wouldn't change a thing.

First of all, you are joking, right?
Second, if you ARE serious, you might want to consider telling us you're still joking.
Your topic annoys me. See, because of people like you, who want to get marry for such selfish, immoral reasons, we, who genuinely love our partners, have to go through this long, sometimes frustrating process!
So, thanks a lot, "Erika", and good luck, not to you, but to your fiancé!

This essentially makes meeting in a third location impossible." - Original post

Relax. They don't have records of what you said. They ask you so that they can see your reaction on the spot and look for suspicious reactions. Do not volunteer any information they don't ask for. Example:
Officer: Hey, how are you doing tod--
You: SIR I'M SO SORRY I LIED AWHILE AGO ABOUT MYJDFKLGJSDJFD...
Don't do that. No reason to mention it at all. If they ask you a question, answer it honestly. If they recorded any of the conversations, they wouldn't have had to ask every time I crossed the border to see my SO what his job was, how we met, etc. It's like the first time every time.
