Asylum based on domestic violence but she would first have to come to USA: https://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/30/us/victim-of-domestic-violence-in-guatemala-is-ruled-eligible-for-asylum-in-us.html

unless you have a valid green card, be prepared for it to be denied. My husband applied while pending ROC they said they would wait for him to get his 10 yr GC and eventually denied the application. The green card has to be valid.

She must have applied for GE before her GC expired? My husband's GC expired 12/2017 and he applied for GE about March 2018. They said he couldn't be fully approved until her gets his new 10 year GC. Nothing came in the mail and he can't even get TSA pre-check, the known traveler number that was provided to him doesn't seem to be working. It's so frustrating

How exactly do you bypass the line if you don't have the GE card? My husband applied and was conditionally approved then went to the enrollment center and they said all he can get now is the TSA pre-check and a known traveler number. When he gets his updated Green Card (haha) to come to the enrollment center and show it to them and only then will they give him the GE card.

PSA: Do NOT bother applying for Global Entry right now. You will NOT be approved. You will only be conditionally approved and have to wait until your new GC comes, as it is tied to the GC and not the letter of extension.

If you apply now, the ONLY benefit you will get is the TSA pre-check. Seeing as it's taking ages for the ROC to be approved, knowing what  I know now, I would not have applied for Global Entry while ROC is pending.
Did you get fully approved even though your Green Card was expired? Please elaborate.

Check here for your I-94, it's only valid for 14 days. So if they did not enter it on the day you arrived, it might be valid. My hubby's I-94 (he entered with K1) showed up online 3 days after his entry ( I was checking every day).

Make sure you I-94 is still valid. Since you entered on Jan 28th I don't think it is. You would select Legal Alien Allowed to Work and show them your passport, and your K-1 visa, along with your I-94. We did this for my husband before we got married. But he went in his second week of being here.
If your I-94 is expired you will have to wait to get your SS# until your EAD comes in. Sorry.

Will be submitting application in the next two weeks. Was eligible to file for citizenship in November but kept hoping that my ROC would come through. Got new GC in end of Jan. Now wondering which is better, online application for N400 or paper?

Why do you need "a certificate in hand" when she has a passport?  Are you aware the certificate costs over $1000?

Global Entry will not be approved if her GC expires. We applied for GE during ROC, they denied it because they wanted the 10 yr card. If she does the application quick enough while her current GC is valid she might get approved but once her card expires the kiosks will not accept her again because GE is not a card you scan at the kiosk, you still need to scan your passport/valid GC

you most likely will not be asked about his employment as they are more interested in your status as a couple, they're checking to see you are really married. As mentioned by others, rule of thumbs with USCIS, NEVER LIE

Dohan got a reaction from mushroomspore in EAD time reset because of RFE!! Losing patience, time, and hope
Like Tabeak said above, any other kind of visa adjusted after marriage takes a longer time because they look into why you stayed back, etc. You said you had an RFE, were you not notified? Btw, 90 days is the normal processing time for EAD.
You've already come this far, there is no need to abandon the situation now. If you leave now, you will have to be apart from your partner even longer and most likely go through the I 130 route.
You also mentioned you have a job waiting for you, believe me, you are in a much better state than others find themselves in during this adjustment time. I would suggest requesting an expedite again and continuing to get in touch with your congresspeople. You already have a job offer so you have a valid reason to expedite. When you request to expedite, cite extreme hardship due to inability to work, and extreme financial hardship. This is why we the petitioners sign I 134 and I 864 for our fiances/spouses. But it is worth a try raising a storm and saying extreme harship, etc.
Also, if you were not timely notified of the RFE, unless you moved and did not tell them, this is their shortcoming and you should really badger them about improper processing of documents, and throw in something about human rights. Those of us who have complained a lot, seem to eventually get through.
I know it's hard and frustrating but now is not the time to give up when you are so close!!!!

It's YOUR ties to your country what matters not how wealthy your aunt is. There is a good chance no one will want to see those documents in the embassy.

Your visa will be approved or denied based on your situation. Not your aunts.

@Aloyzas this is very good new and congratulations again. I know you are indeed posting in the October 2017 I-751 thread, but could you please confirm that you did file this I-751 in October 2017? I tried but i cannot see your timeline. Thanks

Congratulations! I honestly would not think it is a mistake, but definitely not a bad idea to double check with them. When I inquired online and they sent me an email (this was before cases got transferred to local offices) they did mention some cases would not need biometrics appointment. -Thank you for your inquiry regarding an appointment to have your biometric images processed at an Application Support Center (ASC). We are unfortunately experiencing a longer processing period than what is reflected on your Form I-751 Receipt Notice for this process. Please know that your name will be electronically added to the appointment scheduler if needed. Some applicants will be able to have their prior biometrics copied into our systems and will not be scheduled for a new appointment. You will receive an ASC appointment notice by mail once an appointment date has been established for you if you in fact require an appointment-

No need to bring biometrics letter. We just came back from an international trip and these are sufficient. Just make sure you don't need a visa to go to Mexico (sorry not sure what country you're from)

I would never discourage the USC from being there when the interview occurs to help support their spouse or fiancé, but @gregcrs2is correct, this will be only your interview.  As to if she can be in the consulate you will need to check with the specific consulate to see if they allow the USC to accompany a family member for a visa interview.

    Good Luck!
