You don't have to hug people. I would not want to hug someone I just met. I would think someone who wanted to hug me when we are being introduced was creepy. You could try to figure out a way to get out of it gracefully, or be more forceful with a handshake, like "here is my hand and that is what you get," but I wouldn't agree with this weirdo that "everyone hugs in the US." No Good luck.

Are you in the city or suburbs? My wife asked this. If your wife came from the city, the suburbs will be difficult for her. Give her some autonomy, control over her own life. Find out what public transit goes near your home, if any, and make sure she can travel to Chinatown or visit her friends while you are not available. Buy a transit card, auto reloadable so she will not run out of rides while she is away from home. Give her some cash to spend as she chooses.
Remember, your wife was a fully functioning adult in China. Now she has put herself in your hands, and the dynamic between you is more of parent/child, since she is dependent on you for everything. You must be more supportive than you ever thought possible, more understanding than you are used to, and more accepting than ever. You brought her over here, now you must man up and help her in the way she needs to be helped. "You help your wife=you help your marriage=you help yourself" That is a direct quote from my wife.
    Your marriage depends on this.

You will need to wait on the arrivals level at Concourse F. There is plenty of seating on the left of the walkway where he will be coming out. There is also an information booth where he can have them page you, as others have mentioned, but that probably wont be necessary.
Note: Even if his flight arrives at Concourse E he will still be coming out of Concourse F

perhaps YOU should read YOUR own question: "So if she does her research and can find out those addresses and phone numbers and we put them on the DS160 will it be a problem in her interview that there were no job listings on the Biometric page?"
yes, it might. Here's one suggestion that WILL do some good: Don't be rude to the people who are trying to respond to your post. That's the best way to alienate someone who may have the answers your looking for, which frankly, seems to be, "nope, no problem. Omitting information is perfectly fine. Too inconvenient to do research? not a worry. Embassies don't care about silly details like past addresses and jobs."

Police certificate (piniko mitroo) is completely separate to court records. Court records are required if your husband has had any run ins with the law arrests, convictions etc. You need to provide court records for those.
A police certificate is ordered through the Department of Justice, and it is sent through to the US embassy in Athens, and that is after the US embassy has received your case file from NVC. This means you will not be able to include it in your IV package when you send it to NVC.
Just make a note your IV cover letter that, greek police certificate cannot be included as it is forwarded straight through to the US embassy.

Kev-N-Ann reacted to ManCharsey in Do Not Marry A Man From Nigeria! They Are Very Violent People....
As sorry I am for you regarding your situation and happy that you took measures to ensure he longer hurts you, I would want you to take the time to learn about the fallacy of hasty generalization in philosophy. To generalize that all Nigerian men because you met a bad one or a couple of your friends met bad ones is a very big error which you shouldn't ever repeat again. It is like someone outside the US saying all american women are disrespectful and obnoxious because they met a few who fit in that category or the media creates that stereotype in the eyes of people through movies etc, but we here know that is so far from the truth.
A lot of African men are rather good and caring people and have a deep sense of family. They might have different cultures and how they relate to/with people might be different but I know a whole LOT of them and have spent a lot of time in all the continents (except Australia) in the world because of the nature of my work and I can tell you there are good and bad men everywhere. What would you say then to the men who beat up their girlfriends and wives everyday here in the US. A typical case is Jennifer Hudson's (Yes the RnB artist) mother and sister's case (Google it up if you don't know about it already), would that mean that all American men are violent and killers?? NO! So before you start stereotyping wrongly and making very false hasty generalizations, perhaps take the time to research more about cultures of the world.

You can apply for an SSN as soon as you arrive in the US with a K1 visa. Your visa has not yet been approved, as the interview is the final step.
What I did, was that I arrived here, waited for 2 weeks for the secure database to be updated with my data (that I'm legally in the country for 90 days, under a K1 visa) and then went to the SS office with my visa, my I-94, my passport and my SSN application. I also had printed out information, proving that I indeed could apply for an SSN, although I had not been married yet. Then, the SSN card was sent to me by mail.

    Dear VJ friends,
It has been about 9 months since my husband arrived from Nigeria. I wanted to update you on our relationship status, and remind those who feel that majority of these long distance relationships fail once the beneficiary is here.
It took us almost five years to finally be together. It was a long process, one worth all the wait now that he is here. I speak for both of us when I say, our adjustment to each other has been a very successful one. He has been the most loving, caring and wonderful human being that he was then and continues to be to date. I could not have asked for more loving partner.
It is a myth when people generalize all relationships with red flags as failures. WE are proof of its success and that not every Nigerian is in this VJ just to get here and receive a GC or citizenship in the USA. Commitment and mutual respect has, and continues to be the key to our relationship and marriage. I just want to let others know although there are bad people in this world...good ones do exist. Choose your mate carefully using your head first, then let your heart give away your love. Respect yourself and know your worth and don't settle for anything less than what you deserve and makes you happy.
Best of luck to those who are still waiting for the VJ to end. Blessings!

Oh, God! I have been reading all the posts and it seems so complicated!

I can tell you that me, being Greek, had a long discussion at the Embassy about the fact that neither me or my finace had yet been divorced when we decided to take our relationship a step further and got engaged. We were both separated (him for more than a year and me for about 7 months) when this happened, but the CO had a lot of questions to ask me. She even wanted to know how I felt about getting involved in a serious relationship so soon after my separation.
My advise would be to be truthful, detail oriented and see if you could be there to attend the interview.
    Good luck and stay strong!
