You can demonstrate a lack of immigrant intent by showing that you - the US citizen - are indeed an expat and have your primary residence in your wife's country. You should not have a problem getting a tourist visa for her. Makes no sense that the consulate would tell you otherwise. Good Luck!

    Radicalism 83 Socialism 25 Tenderness 37.5
These scores indicate that you are a tough-minded progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a liberated atheist. It appears that you are cynical towards religion, and have a suspicious and unsympathetic attitude towards humanity in general.
Your attitudes towards economics appear capitalist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as libertarian.
To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a centrist with few strong opinions.
    Suspicious, perhaps. Unsympathetic? Nawwwwww.
I think the questionnaire needs about 20-30 more questions to it to be more accurate. My socialism score should be higher than that but no questions were really asked that would trigger it.

I'd be interested in seeing links to this info, if you have them handy (not that I don't believe you, just sounds like it might be a fascinating read).

It's for sure an oddity. Nearly always the burden of proof is on the believer. Example, Sasquatch, Loch Ness, aliens, etc. This one, the burden of proof is on the person who doesn't believe in something that has never been seen.

I'm not really socialist, mostly because I haven't lived with and don't have familiarity with it, so I am not really suggesting that India should go socialist. However, unbridled capitalism just makes the richer rich and the poorer poor. Without oversight it rewards criminals and cheaters at the expense of others. Corruption and lack of innovation are helping keep those countries down, imo.

Remember that people's definition of "rude" varies wildly. Some have thick skin and a lot of stuff just bounces off, some have thin skin and take offence at every little thing that's said. Plus there is no such thing as tone on the internet.
That being said? I've only seen one rude/inflammatory post on this page (Page 4). The rest have been direct and to the point and nothing more.

This is a productive attitude. Too often, and sadly, new members don't know what they don't know. There can be a string of threads with bad advice in an upper forum, and someone has to step in bluntly to dispel the misinformation.
Allowing misinformation to "stand" can be perilous to anyone's visa journey. One misstep can cause months or years of delay and possibly the end of the entire journey, all accompanied by deep regret. That outcome is not the purpose of this website. If some members decide to be offended, and their attitudes cloud their intake of the objective advice, then their attitudes could end up being responsible for partial or complete failure in the immigration process.
And Spooky's reaction above is blunt, but his last sentence is 100% true and possible.
Raven52, you've been given several pieces of usable advice in just the last few posts. It's hoped that you'll take them to heart. Now, what are you doing to prepare for ROC in a couple of years?

I like the fact that the organizers keep VJ so organized and orderly.
I'm personally not one for too much moderation, and I've never used a report button in my life. If someone pisses me off, I just don't bother with them any longer. But, I can understand that VJ is here to serve a larger population than myself, some of whom are more sensitive and need the "protection" that moderators provide.
I also prefer blunt and to the point responses, and I find plenty of that here, so I'm happy.

You seem quite antagonistic towards someone who said nothing wrong. You also have issues about threads being moved. Is VJ your first forum experience? I can recommend a few posters who can efficiently give you an initiation and lead you to the path of, um, righteousness.

He did not ask for any lists, times, dates, or anything of the sort. He simply stated that if you feel a post was rude, you can click the 'Report' link to report that post to the mod team. Every post has that link at the bottom of it. You do not have to remember times and dates, just click the 'Report' link.word at the bottom of a post you feel is rude.

What made his post rude? What moderators do you have to put up with being rude? What is it the mods have done that was so rude? I am genuinely curious because I have not personally come across a mod being rude to anyone. True I do not read all the posts here, but it seems like if it happens as much as others say it does, I would have seen it at least once. The question of who the power-hungry mods are has still gone unanswered.
By the way, you mentioned something about posts just being moved around, and you seem to take offense to that. It is not rude or 'power hungry' for the organizers to move posts to their proper forums. It is what they are supposed to do. It helps keep the many posts here on VJ organized and laid out in a way that people can find the topics/answers they are looking for that fit their particular immigration situation. If someone posts something that belongs in another forum section, then the organizers move the post to the appropriate place.

You don't seem to like itemized lists? They're not everyone's idea of a good way to lay things out in a simple, easy to read manner, but I'm not sure how it's rude to make things into an itemized list to address concerns?
T-bone is also not a moderator but rather an organizer.
Is there someone else who is a moderator or organizer that you don't like?

    raven52,
    1. Providing a fact
    2. Asking for elaboration
    3. Diplomatically suggesting that temperament counts
    4. Providing a fact and an option
Please explain how the above is rude, and cite some of the "so many other times" (5 examples would be solid proof). If your answers are persuasive, I'll readily apologize.

I've always found Kathryn and Penguin to be extremely helpful moderators. With my limited experience with Ontarkie and Kritkit I have found them helpful as well. The rest I don't have much experience with, I'm sorry.
Like T-bone has stated, site usage is voluntary.
Also if anyone has a problem with where a post is moved you can PM the organizer or moderator who moved it and ask why it was moved. Occasionally we make mistakes, but we're very willing to explain why a post was moved to a specific location. I'll try to remember to put down the reason the thread was moved, not just that it was moved from point a to point b.

I read it twice - once when I read the email from the Report Forum telling me there was a report, and the second time, when I received the action response report telling me what action was taken by what moderator. Every member of the Moderation Team receives and reads all of the reports and all of the action reports. There is an excellent 'paper trail' so to speak, of every report received, who responded and what they did automatically logged by the software of this site. I can also read it where it was located in the thread - it hasn't been removed, it has been made invisible - as can any other moderator. So, with that in mind, you might wish to reconsider my comment.
Also for your information, the current moderation team includes includes:
    Kathryn41 - lead moderator
    Penquin_ie - global moderator
    Charles! - global moderator
    Ontarkie - global moderator
    Krikit - global moderator
    Nina~ - global moderator
    ScottThuy - global moderator
Brad and Vika - global moderator
    William33 - global moderator
We also have a good number of Organizers whose sole responsibility is to move posts which are posted in the incorrect forums to the correct - or more appropriate - forum. They do a lot of good work for very little recognition and are an integral part of the Organization team.

    1. None of the three is a VJ moderator.
    2. Name all of the moderators who are "power-hungry," with your reasoning (examples, versus mere opinion) as to how they're "power-hungry."
    3. If you have to spend your second and third sentences qualifying your first sentence, and end the thought with an "oh, and you're ugly, too"-type sentiment, perhaps the first sentence shouldn't have been posted at all.
    4. Indeed. Participation in VJ is voluntary. If you're unhappy, you're free to abandon your participation here in favor of participating somewhere else.
