Actually, I prefer actual conversation (unlike some), but tl;dr means "too long; didn't read", which is used when you post a wall of text rather than a concise thought (or thoughts). Since that's not your style, I'll indulge your walls of text preference.
Did I ever say that sucky teachers are the rule? No. Did I say the bad outweighs the good? No. But to ignore these things that do exist to some degree and not try to fix a problem is just not very progressive, now is it? You shouldn't accept problems when you can acknowledge them and propose solutions in anything. What good does that do? If you like unions, good for you to have that opinion. That doesn't mean everything is perfect, though.
Please think about doing some research about teachers being recycled in school districts before claiming they aren't (or aren't frequently - it's a national problem). It's called the "dance of the lemons" (wonderful video representation/explanation of it in the documentary I mentioned previously "Waiting for Superman" - a clip of it is probably on YouTube and the whole doc is on Netflix). Check out here to learn what's being done now in D.C. about it: http://www.washingtonpolicy.org/blog/post/sb-5242-would-end-dance-lemons-teachers’-placements
Unions, as a general rule, make it difficult for business managers (in this case, principals or administrators) to act independently of the union. If you support that, good for you, but to pretend as if principals can actually take action on their own and punish teachers is just not understanding how teachers unions, and unions in general, work. The article about the dance of the lemons even touches on that - and it's a very short article.
I wouldn't call my view (easily supported by the way unions are structured and operate) about principals naive or ignorant. If you're going to disagree, it'd be more apt to say I'm too cynical and pessimistic. That'd be a fair viewpoint to have. We could debate that if you then took the time to understand the problems of the school system in America (from teachers, to unions, to government funding, to testing, etc.). Heck, we could even debate the extent to which unions are the problem, or teachers are the problem, or any of the potential causes of the problems, but if you're not going to believe in the factual faults of the system in relation to all the causes, we can't really talk about solutions.
I enjoy a good debate, but for a debate to start we have to agree on what exactly we're debating. Otherwise neither of us will say anything effective.

BaBamSam reacted to KayDeeCee in I-129F processing delay - should we switch to I-130?
With this process you cannot really choose a date to wed and plan everything around it. You must plan everything around immigration instead. You can pick a tentative date, but never set it in stone or put down non-refundable deposits. Immigration times are too iffy for that. Even if the times were correct, there are other things that could delay it, such as RFEs, being placed in AP, and long watiing times to schedule interview appointments. Both service centers are running behind and very slowl lately. It would be cutting it close to even set a tentative date a year after filing.
Getting married now will make your wait longer. You must start again and wait. The support is the same. You file an I-134 for the K-1 and then the I-864 for AOS after you are married. With the spoual visa, you file the I-864. With the CR-1, you become a permament resident upon entering the US and can work and travel internationally right away. With the K-1, you cannot work or travel and re-enter the US without first applying for AOS and getting the EAD/AP or green card.
You will not save time by withdrawing your I-129F, getting married and filing for a CR-1 instead. The foreign spouse/fiance(e) can visit while waiting. They just need to show strong ties to their country. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/67796-yes-you-can-visit/

Welcome to the world of the fiance visa: waiting, waiting, and more waiting. I'm sorry to disappoint, but you're in for a long wait, and there's no reason why your Canadian fiance would ever have been contacted yet. You're totally within the norm and everyone else is waiting right along with you.
If your NOA1 was March, it's likely that your petition might be approved by October. Possibly by September if you're lucky and Vermont speeds up a bit. After that, it will take a further two months minimum (more likely 3 months) for your fiance to work through the consulate stage on her end. You're probably looking at a December wedding, assuming things stay about the same as they are now.
Customer service reps at USCIS are next to useless. They are not trained and have little actual experience other than reading from a script they're given. It's no surprise that they gave you false hope, but I am sorry for you all the same.
As Jay-Kay said, there is no way to plan any firm dates with either the K-1 or the spousal visa. That's the life of the visa petitioner, unfortunately. I don't recommend changing to the spousal visa at this point, because the wait is just as long (if not longer) -- unless your fiance really needs to work right away upon entering the USA. That's the major difference and for some people, it is necessary. Otherwise just stick with it and join the waiting club here!

Step one is to figure out whether or not your consulate accepts co-sponsors. I cannot, unfortunately, speak about Egypt and co-sponsors.
Step two, if your consulate does accept co-sponsors then get one who surpasses the income requirement. Fill out an I-134 and collect supporting documents yourself, and have your co-sponsor do the same.
Step two, if your consulate does not accept co-sponsors, you have a couple of options. One, you can get a new job that meets the requirements ASAP (not easy at all, I know). Current income is what matters the most. Two, you can stop the K-1 route, get married and restart on the CR-1 route. On the CR-1 you file and I-864 instead, which permits a co-sponsor.
I wish you the best of luck in successfully navigating this hurdle!

I don't think it's LA because I can recall at least two pools with them that I've seen here in the last couple of weeks.
And my hometown in upstate New York is full of them.

what if churches filled the role they were supposed to fill with their lovely tax exempt status, and helped poor people in the community without judgement or bias or just plain ol sticking to their own membership - maybe we wouldn't have so many religious freaks mucking up politics or poor people turning to the government to fill basic voids.
what if's aside - mr fincher and his "the one who is unwilling to work shall not eat" quote can go right on and tell that to the children. most of us know what jesus said about caring for and defending the kids..

Why don't you make your own thread for real cartoons only? It seems like whoever starts the thread can make the rules.
I agree a photo with a caption is not a cartoon, and I think the only comment I ever made in one of those threads was to that effect.

This is VERY important to note. You must talk about meeting in person in the last two years. I submitted a paragraph that had one sentence of "We first met attending the same university" and the rest was "We lived in the UK for X TIME and traveled to France on X DATE for a vacation" to describe our meetings within the last two years.
