• The Kentucky State Police are investigating the drowning of a 2-year-old child.

On Tuesday, the KSP Post 2 Madisonville received a call from the Hopkins County coroner in reference to a two-year-old that had been transported to the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. The child had been found unresponsive in a swimming pool at a home on Highland Avenue in Providence.

The coroner pronounced the victim, Hayden Hubbard, dead at the RMC.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the child was left unattended for a short time and appears to have climbed the ladder to the above-ground pool and fell in.

Foul play is not suspected. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday morning at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Louisville.

I should mention that when I was a kid, there were diving boards at every pool. Now, I can't find a single pool with one. I used to love doing tricks off of diving boards, but I guess they are just too dangerous, so they were taken down.

That kind of stuff really makes me hate the culture in the U.S. -- if your kid does something stupid and gets hurt, just sue wherever it happened. That kind of logic is what is bringing this country down and is making my molars decay... or something Darnellish like that.
