Well since you are from Australia I assume you speak English? They would have asked you if you wanted to register for it. Did they?

I have my oath ceremony on the 23rd! Can't believe what a crazy journey this has been from the CR1 to this! And as a nice surprise this last leg of the race was actually pretty fast! Lol Not something I'm used to when dealing with uscis ;-)

You say your fiancé can't come anytime soon. Maybe he has to make time. Spend more time together gather more evidence and then get married. Right now that's your only option.

Alaska2012 reacted to pushbrk in I-134 Question 7 - Both outside USA
The I-134 does not provide for a "joint sponsor". I know what you mean though. "Co-sponsor" is a term we use here to describe what is really just a "qualified sponsor" submitting an I-134 in addition to the unqualified petitioner.
"Joint sponsor" is a term that applies to the I-864 used, in this case, when applying to adjust status after marriage.

Are you planning on living in the US? If so, why not sort out the paperwork before you leave? It seems like such a waste of time doing another visa!

it does not matter if the NVC has approve your petition from experience . I know for a fact you will need the cenomar (cemar) it is not listed as one of the documents to bring to interview. If your wife does not have it,there will be a delay in getting her visa. I am just letting you know. It is good to be confident but over confident is not

You can end up in ap for no apparent reason. The visa can get lost in the mail. The person conducting the interview can have a bad day and find one little thing to nit pick at. There are so many things that can happen that a professional can't do a thing about.
And these things can happen no matter if you apply for K1 or CR. I'm of course hoping everything goes smoothly I'm just saying you can't be sure of anything before you have the visa in hand.

Alaska2012 reacted to Boiler in US tourist visa and interview for a Thai wife
I have applied for a b, you fill the form in, not that complicated, asks for factual information, similar to applying for a Credit Card
Here at Siam Legal, we provide you with services, which may include (but not limited to) the following:
Full review of your personal, financial & employment history
    All factual
Consultation and confirmation that the B-2 visa is appropriate for you
Fair enough but you know that is what you want
Extensive check-list of documents that you need for your B-2 visa
They say what is a reasonable summary of what is required:
Important Documents Needed For All Type Of Applicants
Application Form DS-160, completed and submitted
Current, valid passport or travel document
    Passport 2x2 in Photograph
    Application fees.
Evidence of funds to cover your expenses in the United States
Evidence of compelling social and economic ties to Thailand
US Citizens often contact us and ask if they can write a letter of support for the Thai applicant to visit the United States. Under U.S. law, however, applicants for a US Tourist Visa must qualify on their own for visas to visit the United States.
This is what applicants must do to qualify for visitor visas:
    Complete and sign the required application forms;
Bring evidence that their visit is temporary and that they will return home
Show financial ability to fund their travel and stay in the US
Professional and accurate preparation of your visa application
You fill the form in on line?
Submission of your visa application to the proper agencies
You fill the form in on line
Careful preparation of all correspondence with agencies
    Not applicable
Expert advise on how to handle yourself at your Consular interview
You can read about that on VJ, but you are talking about maybe a couple of minutes at the window. Most applications are decided well before you interview.
Unlimited personal communication with our US Visa Attorney
    Thats nice

Alaska2012 got a reaction from mallafri76 in Is it likely we will be deported?
Don't worry about the issue with the parental consent. Iceland and sweden have similar laws regarding this. I too have sole custody and didn't need to get an approval from my son's father. I had no issues when going through the visa process. The paper says sole custody and that's enough. In your case they will go by Icelandic laws and rules regarding this.

    Wow! That's messed up!
In sweden all we had to do was fill out the forms and hand in proof that my husband had lived in the us the required amount of years (i handed in some transcripts from his high school I believe)
Then I had my daughters birth certificate and passport in hand in less than a week. My husband, who is the us citizen wasn't even present

Alaska2012 reacted to Hardfacts123 in AOS denied - but is the advanced parole still legit?
On your part a simple phone call would have eliminated all of the problems you created. You didn't think enough about the process to make a call and ask for an extension on the interview date before you'll were required to appear. Not sure how immigration reform would correct laziness on the part of the petitioner.

You can't claim to be a resident if you enter on a tourist visa...
