No input for the length of time it could take for the visa, but a bit of advice on the flights. I would not book any flight until you have your passport with visa it. There could be a delay in the visa being issued, you could be put in AP, something could happen to your passport in the delivery of it back to you, etc, and then you might have to change the flight.

in most case 7 to 10 days. My wife got her in 5 days, Most people will tell you not to book flight untill you have the visa in hand. I did book my wife flight after she was approve. I book it for about 3 weeks

later as that was the best time and cost wise for us

just know if there is a problem then you might have to buy another ticket or the airline might let you change dates for a fee if they know in advance

Even as quickly as we were approved, it took about a month for it to finally be tracked as ISSUED and 2 days later it was delivered. I booked tickets for 2 weeks later, and the price wasn't that awful. If it was not for work, I could have booked a week sooner with absolutely no change in price.

As all have stated, wait till that packet is in hand. It's the best advice possible.

You can end up in ap for no apparent reason. The visa can get lost in the mail. The person conducting the interview can have a bad day and find one little thing to nit pick at. There are so many things that can happen that a professional can't do a thing about.

And these things can happen no matter if you apply for K1 or CR. I'm of course hoping everything goes smoothly I'm just saying you can't be sure of anything before you have the visa in hand.

Oh I know that. I had smooth sailing with my CR, no issues at all. So of course it can be done. I'm just saying after reading so many stories here on VJ, that the issue may not be you it could be an error made by someone at the embassy...it could be anything really. And there is a reason everyone will tell you don't book anything until visa is in hand. So many peeps here on VJ have done just this, booked a flight just to miss it.

I had my K1 visa done by a professional and as was said, things can happen which have nothing to do with having a Attorney or not!

For example we waited a 183 days for NOA2, which was the average waiting time for Texas filers earlier this year, the Attorney had no influence on that, also our packet 3 was sent to a total stranger in London, so that delayed us yet again, it was a clerical error and again the Attorney could do nothing, except write to them which made no effect at all. Sometimes mistakes are made, so it's best to wait for that visa in hand.

Why do you think CR visa are above errors and human mistakes?

Not all K1 have issues and not all CR1 are smooth sailing.

But whatever rocks your boat.
