Alaska2012 got a reaction from Mithmeoi in Marrying on a visit visa
No it's not!!!! But marrying and adjusting status is!
If you get married and then go back and wait out the visa process back home you have nothing to worry about!

Alaska2012 got a reaction from hikergirl in Question about g-325a
They won't call anyone. Don't worry!

Alaska2012 got a reaction from Saylin in Postpone date of entry in order to avoid having to remove conditions?
If the visa is still valid then, go for it! If its not, get in touch with the embassy and see what they can do for you. They might be able to extend the visa. I know of a woman here in Sweden who managed to do it, but it was up to the embassy...

Alaska2012 got a reaction from bmiles62 in traveling back to Philippines
You must use the name that is in the passport, nothing else!!!

Alaska2012 got a reaction from N-o-l-a in Stil waiting for NOA2..
Yes and you will probably have another 5-6 months before you get your noa2.
That the web page doesn't show your case doesnt mean anything, that page has its ups and downs.

Alaska2012 got a reaction from Brother Hesekiel in Sister with Down Syndrome of US Citizen
Wow wait, did your parents plan on leaving her? Or what was the plan to begin with, it's not like your parents got their visas in a heartbeat, you guys must have talked about it no!

Alaska2012 got a reaction from N-o-l-a in A dilemma with co-sponsors.
I think it might depend on what country your fiance is from.
Hopefully you'll get a new job any day now, how else would you support your fiance once he/she gets here?

Alaska2012 got a reaction from del-2-5-2014 in Assist me please with I-130 (1 question)
Sorry just trying to give you a heads up, cause planning to adjust on VWP is considered fraud, but if you think that does not apply to you just everyone else than good luck!

Alaska2012 got a reaction from N-o-l-a in Assist me please with I-130 (1 question)
Kinda? You do know it is illegal to enter on VWP with the intent to adjust status?

Alaska2012 got a reaction from HappyDeux :-) in ready to have a baby
We are having a baby, I'm under the affadavid of support...My husband is self employed but bought us insurance. The problem for us up here in Alaska is that no insurances that you buy yourself will cover pregnancy and the delivery. But with that said that won't stop us from having kids, we found a birth center that will only charge us $6000 for everything and that is money we saved up. If we couldn't afford to pay for it we wouldn't do it, I would for sure not expect the government to pay for it..

Alaska2012 got a reaction from NikLR in The Hartford Office Sent my unapproved I-130 to Copenhagen
Nola, instead of emailing Copenhagen call them if possible. Or even better, if you are not too far from there try and get an appointment and go talk to someone there. If they do have your file they can send it to Sweden and I do know for a fact that Stockholm and Copenhagen work pretty close together. In normal cases Stockholm can't do much since they closed the dcf, but I also know that when there has been major screw ups Stockholm have done all they can to speed things up and above all they try to help. Get your stuff there I think is your best bet!

Alaska2012 got a reaction from Kastrs in Filing K-1 and Visitation situation (Please help!)
6 months is hoping for a miracle at the moment, everything is going super slow right now.
What will he do if the customs won't let him in the us when he goes back with you? If they suspect him moving and not just visiting they might not let him in.

Alaska2012 got a reaction from CanadiaGirl in 1-130 filing
You file I-130, the visa that will be issued is the cr-1.
From the time you file the I-130 until he has the visa in hand it will be anywhere between 8-12 months.

Alaska2012 got a reaction from NikLR in RFE & Passport Request
If it has the box passport checked he must send it in! Not doing it will just prolong the process and might raise more issues. Why not just do as asked and get it over with?
Yeah you gotta be apart for a while but you got the rest of your lives to make up for it..

Alaska2012 got a reaction from I AM NOT THAT GUY in I-129f Processing Time
Why are you doing a K3? If your lawyer put you up to it I would seriously re think my choice of lawyer.

Alaska2012 got a reaction from ndu26 in Anyone consider a pre-nuptual?
How would your fiancée respond to you making her sign a pre-nup? Have you talked about it already, what did she say?
We did not sign one but its very interesting to me to read about how other people do things.
I think, had my husband asked me to sign a pre-nup i would have been rather upset. I gave up everything in my country to live with him, moved my kids across the world for him. I have nothing left back home, not that it really matters it was a sacrifice i happily made, but it would have felt like an insult if he would have made me sign a paper after me doing all that for him...

Alaska2012 got a reaction from Pitaya in Request to expedite!!! Please Help!
Give it 2-4 weeks.
May I ask what your humanitarian reasons were? If it was your pregnancy you might wanna prepre yourself for a denial.
You posted in K1 forum, but say you are married. And you sent in both I-130 and I129f???

Alaska2012 got a reaction from Kazulie in Help with Co-Sponsor
The co sponsor don't have to count your fiancee and her son. The only one who is moving and need a sponsor is you!

Alaska2012 got a reaction from Asia in Attorney wants a copy of the green card
Our attorney also asked for copies of our green cards. It's not, as someone suggested, for the attorney to show their success rait, if you lose your green card it gets stolen etc your attorney can easier help you out. You don't have to give anyone a copy if you don't want to!
However, making a copy and keep somewhere safe for yourself is a good idea, just in case.
