jarta got a reaction from Moon&Stars in Tourist Visa in Ghana granted
My mom got a tourist visa to come and visit me in the US after getting denied twice to come to my wedding back in 2012. She said the CO never looked at any of her supporting documents but asked a lot of questions about me, my work, number of kids I have, my wife's work, when and how I came to the US and if I had file an immigrant visa for her. She said any time she wanted to present any evidence, the CO  say its okay and that she believes her. She picked up her passport on Tuesday and she has been given a 5 years multiple entry visa!
I lost complete hope that she was going to get the visa mainly because it's Ghana and also because she has been denied twice before.  Also as a parent of US Citizen there is an automatic presumption of immigrant intent when applying for a tourist visa. I am glad she got it.

I think they can view her recent I 94 here - https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/recent-search . That way they can see if she really overstayed or not. As long as she left before the date on the I 94, she is good.

It is a very difficult embassy to go through. As someone who went through that embassy, my advise will be, to be honest, have lots of evidence ( try not to use too much of Facebook evidence), visit your fiancee in Ghana to get those visa stamps as evidence and most of all be really patience. Its a slow embassy and they have alot of scrutiny due to Ghana being a high visa fraud country. Good luck!

I am sorry to hear that he was denied! When people with genuine and good reason to visit a love one are denied, I blame the fact that most Ghanaian who go for an interview lie and so the COs at the embassy are always skeptical about whatever we tell them. I hope our economy gets better and most of all get a good reputation. We need to improve our image. Innocent people are suffering because of our lies!!!

Why don't you just use a permanent marker with a small tip and leave the pictures out for about 10 mins to dry. That's what I did and it turned out great. When you read the instruction it says - "Using pencil or felt pen, lightly print your name and Alien Registration Number (A-Number) on the back of each photo." I wouldn't use a label maker. Just follow the instruction...I think that's the best thing to do...You are right, don't take any risk to delay your process.

As an immigrant in the US,I am willing to deal with any rudeness from any USCIS personal or from IO at any airports. I will suck it up just so that I can be with my family.
But I know not everyone is like me so i know it much harder for others to take my line of thinking. I take consolidation from the fact, one day I wouldn't have to deal with them again.
After all its their country and can do whatever they want to me, if I don't like it, I should move back to my country....Its sad but that's how I see it. This way, This mentality helps go through this painful process.
By the way - I'm not saying my way is the best or right way to go about it, but its just an idea that I have adopted to help me through this painful, time tasking, daunting, monotonous and tedious process.

I don't think any of the responders were rude in anyway. They were just straight forward with their replies -they said it the way it is. We all understand being under AP sucks and is horrible but that doesn't mean people shouldn't be straight forward and tell it as it is. I would suggest you look through the Ghana portal and find people who are or had been under AP and ask them what they did or are doing. Good luck and i hope you get out AP.
    good luck

    It depends on the employer.
Some employers are fine with foreign degrees. Others are not because it is difficult to verify the degree or know if the education was adequate.
Many US employers know about buying grades and degrees is common in some foreign countries. These employers will disregard degrees from these countries.

jarta got a reaction from Caryh in I'm desperate for help! tourist visa for husband
i will say go ahead and try. you never know. when i applied for my tourist visa to go visit my then girl friend who is currently my fiancee, i had no ties to my home countries (all my ties were in the US - work, bank accounts and girl friend) and i also told the CO i was going to visit my girl friend. he granted my visa and gave me 5 years multiple entry visa. lots of people told me i wouldn't get it. i also personally know of someone who applied for a tourist visa while K1 was pending, and the visa was approved
the point here is, you never know, just give it a try. if you don't get it, at least your tried. the BIG but here is - never lie or intentionally omit information from your story.

he might have to go back to school and take some few classes. some one should correct me if I'm wrong, but most companies\school in America does not trust degrees from other countries( especially from third world countries) unless they have some sort of agreement with the school. when i went to college in America, i had to test out of lots of classes because they didn't trust my transcripts from my high school in Ghana.
they dont trust our educational system here in Ghana. i dont blame them though...

Your just answering regular relationship questions. Don't coach yourself too much or you will sound fake.

It's actually surprising they did not cancel her current visa. With two denials, chances (IMO) for denied entry are high.
