Don't know anyone waiting for IR5. Seems their focus right now is spouse and children under 21.

dwheels76 got a reaction from Redrobot in What is the right way to Side-Load during NVC stage?
Thank you for saying this. Some people don't get it and bring so much things to interview that is like 15 minutes and they really think a CO is going to read through a million ages of things. But uploading at USCIS and Side-loading it goes before you weeks in advance.. This is how the CO prepares for the interview Why wouldn't someone load up with valid crucial evidence. I don;t get people telling folks its a waste when it's not. At least for West Africa I surely can attest to all those embassies it;s a fat side-load.
LOrd yes.

Please don;t tell that to someone going through Lagos. e are not like every other embassy and every embassy is not created equally.
Whatever you want in the CO's hands at interview needs to be uploaded. Period. Bringing binders full of stuff at interview in most cases is a waste uploading so it goes there before you is vital to success.

If it were me I would wait until after Aug 19 to enter. Removing conditions is a pain in the butt.

Not required at NVC stage. But the OP's profile indicates that the beneficiary is from Nigeria. As mentioned above, for applicants from high visa fraud countries, "everything but the kitchen sink" approach is a good idea. For Canadian applicants, it's probably overkill.

dwheels76 reacted to carmel34 in What is the right way to Side-Load during NVC stage?
Side-loading additional evidence of a bona fide marriage relationship is a good idea if a high-fraud country is involved or there are any red flags such as only a little time spent together in person prior to filing the I-130. We did this at the NVC stage, and uploaded a single file with evidence of more trips together, more financial co-mingling documents, etc., as an additional document via CEAC, because often the officer will not look at additional evidence brought to the visa interview. Good luck!

Should change to sent to Department of State Usually all happens within a week. Welcome letter from NVC usually comes in a few days to a week or so.

dwheels76 reacted to Crazy Cat in Acquire SSN Number for non-work reason
When did you enter the US via the K-1? Your I-94 expires 90 days after entering. If you are within 14 days of expiration of the I-94, then, you will have to file for adjustment of Status and mark the box for a SSN on the I-485. You can (and should) file an I-765 at the same time.
Note to all new users: Anyone entering the US via a K-1 should immediately apply for a SSN after US entry.

dwheels76 got a reaction from Faith Ekpu in Lagos nigeria embassy frustrating
AP is not under the same timelines as regular interviews. You are in extended AP.
If you feel you have a cut and dry case and no wahala you should file a WOM (Writ of Mandamus) cost about $4000. Or you can wait out the process. What was the AP about what documents were they needing to investigate.? Were you married before in Nigeria? How long was your Interview? what was asked for after interview? Has your wife contacted her Senator, Congressmen? What have ya'll done on your help to get a response? Contacting Lagos does nothing they do not take emails unless they sent you one.

Right now Ghana is in Aug/Sept 2020. So you have a wait of over 18 months. Hopefully it improves over time.

dwheels76 reacted to Redro in New Hires and USCIS processing times I-129f
Unfortunately... everyone waiting on an immigration petition thinks only about their case forgetting about all the other petitions.
I-129Fs are no longer a priority to USCIS/NVC and Consulates.
Even if they hire 4400 people this does not mean I-129Fs will be looked at sooner. They might decide to focus their manpower on Afghanistan, Ukraine and immediate relatives... probably certain work visas for that sweet tax money
And you have to remember the consulates are now deciding who to prioritize for interview. In Nigeria or Uganda all interviews are at a standstill while they focus on AP cases....
You could get your K1 approved in 3-6 months but that means nothing if the embassy isn't scheduling interviews (making enough interviews available) for K1...

It will continue to be a waiting game at either USCIS, NVC, or the consulate.......without increased production at all three, there is not much hope in sight.

dwheels76 got a reaction from Redro in NVC: Help me please
I was addressing what you said you needed for interview. Copy of Petitioners biopage is not needed. Everything uploaded at NVC you bring originals of beneficiaries documents copies of financials from petitioner. Updated evidence if desired.

At the POE he tells the Immigration officer to update his address. Also submit now to USCIS the correct address. https://www.uscis.gov/addresschange

I gave this advice to someone a few days ago. I will give the same advice as others have mentioned above. Change your address now before you come with AR-11 (https://www.uscis.gov/addresschange) and also with CBP upon entry. Do both. Redundancy is better in this case.
