For trips less than 2 weeks away they recommend doing an expedite in person at the nearest passport agency to you. See https://www.usa.gov/passport#item-34927

If you want to risk it you could do a standard expedite by mail. I did expedited processing with overnight shipping when I applied for my passport, I applied 10/26/18 and received the passport in the mail on 11/2/2018 so took exactly 1 week.  You can fill out the application form online and it will verify everything is correct, then just print it and take it to any passport application center nearest to you. See https://www.usa.gov/passport for details on the whole process.

as an immigrant (wants to close the door behind them) others trying
to get their ppl in thinking their ppl alone deserves the opportunity.
I honestly have to smile at some of these immigrants comments..Don't
get me wrong everyone should enter the proper way, but we all know it
does not happen always like that, there are those though that deserve
some sympathy ....what if it was the other way around?

It is not. Her path is hers and as yours is yours; one not affecting the other. I fail to see how one can derive solace in the setback of others, but it has been a while since I have been out of elementary school.

That was a pretty messed up thing to say. How do you know the education and skill levels of those that are eligible? Or that they can only work at mowing lawns, being a maid or working 'odd' jobs?
Just because they did not speak English did not mean they were illegal. Like Harpa said, it is not true that voter fraud is a rampant, large problem. You must be registered to vote before going to the polling booth, at least that is the case for most states.

Those people have to be registered to vote beforehand, and their register is checked. There was a recent study out that counted .75 cases of voter fraud per state per year. Yeah, not a lot, less than a person per state on average.

Good point on the voting, but these people are not conditional residents at all. They have no legal status, just a "no deport" order and an EAD. These people are NOT getting permanent residence. I think this is an important distinction, because people here are getting all angry saying "we did things the legal way and these people get rewarded" but I think it's important to note they aren't getting too much. Giving them an EAD also allows the US to collect their taxes more easily, instead of them working under-the-table jobs, so it's good for the economy.

A lot of people here talk about being christian and stuff but then when it comes to stuff like this they are horrified. Jesus was all about helping the poor. He practiced the "you can't take it with you" mentality. I see people on comments sections on news articles all the time complaining about the prospect of paying for other people's ailments.
Having looked at my husband's paycheque I wouldn't say he was paying that much of a difference on health insurance v national insurance. And National insurance pays for everyone. So where is the insurance money going? Some rich guy's pocket.
I personally would rather everyone was given affordable care than have to pay co-pays on top of insurance to be seen maybe all of an hour before I would have been on the NHS at instacare. I'd rather wait the extra hour and have money for other things.
When it comes to the insurance mandate it maybe isn't fair to make everyone pay but considering a lot of democrats wanted single payer you have to wonder if it was the republicans influence. Especially considering romneycare is similar.

I feel sorry for your sister, when the government is the ONLY provider. Obama has stated that he wants to reduce the number of hospitals. He wants s to limit the supply of care as a way to limit the money paid out. It will be illegal to pay for your own care because you will be using a limited public resource. They will eventually have to ration the access and she may find her monthly supply of insulin delayed.

Honestly, this is blatant fear mongering. You're scared of hugely exaggerated "what ifs" and I understand why, you believe what your political leaders want you to. I'm not arguing that Obamacare is 'good' or 'evil', but it seems silly to say you feel sorry for my sister because her life under Obamacare will be wholly dependent upon the government to supply her with what she needs to survive. Anyway you dice it, her life is wholly dependent upon the amount of money she has at her disposal to pay for the treatment of her disease - be it insurance companies, government, the insulin manufacturers or friggin Fedex. And that is how it has been for her since she was diagnosed as a child, no need to blow it all into Armageddon. Every single one of us will be dependent upon others at some point in our lives when it comes to our health, the question is if we will have the money to pay up when our time comes.

that would be a key difference if it were the circumstance. no one gives her cash to pay for her insulin. no one has the cash to buy her insulin. would you be able to raise $2,000.00+ dollars a month from friends and family indefinitely? your fears concerning the government rationing health care is in fact a fear that people who are dependent upon medicines/treatment to survive already harbor. it isn't about who is supplying the healthcare - it's about the healthcare being accessible to everyone - regardless of if they have the money to pay for it. what it comes down to is money.

Tindsay reacted to grrrrreat in AOS affected by Obama's Immigration Move??
Most of the reputable news sources have corrected their reporting. It's being called a "USCIS directive" or an "executive directive", but it's not an executive order. Secretary Napolitano is a cabinet member and answers to the President. Most likely she and members of DHS, including USCIS, proposed this action and he agreed. Every once in awhile, he will order a cabinet member to do something he wants done, but that didn't happen here at least publicly.
Changing the process as you describe will require an act of Congress--it can't be done by USCIS or the President alone. The President has long advocated comprehensive immigration reform, but has been rejected by Republicans that control Congress. Even President Bush proposed a comprehensive immigration reform bill, but Republicans rejected that too (Democrats mostly voted for it). Even Senator McCain proposed a comprehensive immigration reform bill, but changed his mind when he ran for President and said that he would veto the bill he had proposed!
What the President did was a temporary, humanitarian measure to benefit young immigrants who were brought here by their parents, through no fault of their own. It doesn't grant them permanent resident status nor ensure they will be able to stay, but it provides them temporary relief from the threat of removal and access to employment authorization. This is much different from obtaining permanent resident status.
Lastly, please don't call them "illegals". A human being is not an illegal. Please try to have some empathy in your heart, even though you are frustrated. These are people who often live on the edge of poverty under constant threat of detention and removal, and who often do extremely hard, laborious work that other people in the U.S. are unwilling to do.

You're right about USCIS authority to selectively institute removal proceedings, but wrong about their authority to issue EADs. Congress gave USCIS the authority to determine who gets an EAD, and one of those classes is people who were granted "deferred action". (For instance, adjustment applicants can get EADs only because the former INS decided to grant them.) Deferred action is already granted to all different kinds of aliens who USCIS doesn't want to remove. The regulation allowing deferred action aliens to get an EAD is Section 274a.12©(14). It's a regulation not a law, so it's DHS, not Congress, that gets to change it. Congress specifically gave DHS the power to do this already.
The action that was taken was a USCIS directive to grant deferred action to DREAMers who meet the requirements. No further legal or regulatory change was required to make them eligible for EADs. An executive order was not involved. This is the USCIS directive: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=f2ef2f19470f7310VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=f2ef2f19470f7310VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD It comes from USCIS/Sec. Napolitano, not the White House.

Well for the record, when I was petitioning for the green card under the I 130 there was all this talk about Haiti and the devastation of the 7.0 catasphronic earthquake in 2010 and those folks would be processed first etc....and people started making similar comments such as yours, against the President blah blah...and guess what? My petition from filing to approval took 6.5 months. Many many others were very close in that timeframe. So the argument and fear was without merit.
And do you remember that while it's a royal pain the rear to have to wait, there are people facing deportation, you are not. Just like the folks in Haiti faced unbelievable devastation, people actually complained about the possibility of their own claims being delayed, and weren't.

Tindsay reacted to Nich-Nick in London 2012- K1s from NOA2 to interview thread
There's been many similar threads started in the last week with the topic I got my NOA2--Now what?? If all the questions are in one thread, people may find the information they need more easily. I'll start off with some general information specific to London K1s.
Advance preparation for the London part of the K1 process
When your NOA2 is near, it’s a good time to start your preparation.
    Petitioner:

Order your tax transcripts. Only the most recent tax return is required, but you can order three years at a time for free from the IRS. Tax transcripts are summaries of your whole tax return provided free by the IRS. They can't be faked because it's a copy/summary of your whole tax return picture, basically certified by the IRS because it's issued by them. That's why you don't have to include any 1040, Schedules, W2s or 1099s if you send a transcript. They are free from the IRS. Transcripts take the place of sending a complete tax return.
If you call 1-800-908-9946 (the transcript line) , there is an automated system for ordering transcripts. You'll have to enter your Social Security number and the numbers of your street address. It will generate an automated request to mail your transcripts. You can also order online on the IRS website http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=232168,00.html
Start filling out the I-134 Affidavit of Support. It will have to be signed and mailed to the UK the slow way. Get familiar with the form. When the NOA2 is received is a good time to finalize it with the supporting documents and get it in the mail.
Don't obsess printing Skype logs, emails, photos, or Facebook status. London does not want to look at that. Really they don't. London does not want to see a copy of your I-129F petition or NOA2. They got that in the file from NVC.

    UK beneficiary:

Get some passport photos taken. You will eventually need
2 US sized for the Embassy
1 UK sized for the police certificate
1 either size for the visa medical exam.
(and for AOS in the US, 6 more US sized photos)
You can take your own and size it using this uploader tool from the Dept of State. Scroll halfway down the page. http://travel.state.gov/passport/pptphotoreq/pptphotoreq_5333.html Save the jpg file and print at home or at a photo place. Also available at Snappy Snaps, Photo-Me booths, Jessops, Gould's Pharmacy (by the embassy), near the Bond St Tube station (Oxford St) which is closest Tube to the medical exam.
Go to your NHS doctor and get the immunizations you will need for Adjustment of Status. You can get a K1 visa without having any shots, but you will need them before AOS. It’s really wise to take care of it before getting to the US so you can aviold civil surgeon hassles and $$$. Many NHS doctors will do them for free, but they are not obligated to do so for immigration purposes. If you had these shots as a child, Tdap/Td must be no longer than 10 years ago or you have to do them again. Get the shots documented by your doctor to take to your visa medical exam. Here’s the shots needed for 19 through 59 years of age:
Td or Tdap - Maybe not available in the UK, so get DT, DTP or DtaP and it will be accepted for AOS
MMR (if born in 1957 or later) Get a second shot 4 wks later if you have time
Varicella – Not routinely given in the UK ; a history of having chickenpox excuses you from the shot. They take your word for it at the visa medical exam.
Influenza - During flu season only, October 1 through March 31. This was a new recommendation dated November 2010 for all ages over 6 months. Older lists will say flu shots for over age 50. It changed.
Order your police certificate. It takes some preparation because you need a passport photo signed off on by somebody officialish who’s known you two years. Here’s the application. Read the instructions. A police certificate is good for 12 months. Must take it to medical exam. http://www.acpo.police.uk/documents/Application_Form.pdf
Look at your passport and make sure it will have 8 months remaining after visa issuance. If not get it renewed now. If you've damaged it or gotten it wet, it will need to be renewed.
Study the list of original documents London wants you to bring to the embassy and get those in hand or ordered. http://london.usembassy.gov/application_documents.html
Make photocopies of any document you want back. They will verify the original and file the photocopy.

Ready, Set, Go!! - Ask your questions or post your tips...........

Once again, Tim, you're making it up as you go along.
What is needed is a definitely a PHOTOCOPY of a "Certified Copy" of a Final Divorce Decree. In some States (Commonwealths usually) they are called "Decree Absolute". They can vary from a one page synopsis to a 40 page or more extensive legal document including the custody agreement and property settlement. Other than the names of the parties and the date the divorce was final, what is critical is NOT what IS IN IT, but HOW and WHEN it was obtained.
A certified copy of a final divorce decree is something you request from the court AFTER AFTER AFTER the divorce is finalized and has ALREADY ALREADY ALREADY become a matter of public record.
Obtain a certified copy of the correct document, then photocopy it. It won't hurt to send it along separately now with a letter and the case number. It also, probably won't help, so make another copy and have it ready to respond to an RFE.
The process of approving a petition, getting an interview and visa delivery are NOT NOT NOT something the petitioner and foreign visa applicant can control. Neither USCIS or the Dept. of State care one little bit how much of a hurry you are in unless you have a legitimate justification for an expedite.

    Bull feathers.
Since you don't watch porn Vanessa you should know the people in those videos are not really related. They are actors.
Grown up people do not hang up on their spouses. They don't refuse to take their phone calls. They don't turn their back when the offending spouse tries to open up a discourse. If the OP wants to try to mend the relationship, then IMO she should not continue to act wounded.
As far as some of these other comments about how people "forbid" their spouses to do things - good luck with that. Everyone has a free will. IMO it is just as disrespectful to forbid a partner to "do something" as it is for them to do it. The moral code between a couple is just that - between them. I always think people who have to talk to others about their personal moral code know their is something deeply wrong and are just looking for validation. What goes on between two people in a relationship should be just between them. Trying to force your moral code on others doesn't work.

Sorry, but what confusion? The original question was perfectly clear to anyone with basic reading comprehension.
YOU missed the part when she talked about the children still being in her husband's native country. You then jumped in with a totally unnecessary attack - you say you didn't attack her, but you accused her of lying (pretending that she didn't know about his children)! What's that if not an attack?
    Not cool.
With regard to some of the posts saying nobody cares about an immigrant's previous children, that's certainly not true. Our AOS interview was very relaxed - but the one question the officer asked repeatedly was: did I have kids in the UK? He kept asking was I sure I didn't have any! He explained that he wanted to be absolutely certain that my immigration wouldn't become a future Trojan Horse for any undeclared children.
