SunnySanDiego reacted to N-o-l-a in Appoved CR1 visa but want a divorce
Well, you need to divorce him and rather quickly. Being that you've not immigrated to the US yet, would it not be better to just stay put in Canada and find another job? I know that is hard, but being stuck in America without a safety net and then perhaps facing immigration issues is going to be pretty stressful.
His behavior is beyond abnormal and totally not ok as I'm sure you've realized. You've got all the red flags and you need to pay attention to them and never speak to the man again, really.
A real man provides for his family to the best of his ability, tries to be as independent as possible, and treats his daughters with respect and an air of fatherly protection.
You deserve a decent man who will treat you, your children, and his own children with respect and love. You also deserve a partnership in which both people try equally hard to make it through life together. Don't settle for anything less.

Keno and I are starting to slowly prepare all the documentation we are going to need to submit our I-129F. We want to take our time with the whole process to make sure every 'i' is dotted and every 't' is crossed. Being one of the first same-sex bi-national couples to immigrate to the US on a K-1 visa on the heels of a potential victory in the Supreme Court on June 27th means we don't want anything to go wrong on our end.
While we cannot file our I-129F until DOMA is repealed, we want to be ready the instant it is to submit our paperwork because it is such a time-consuming process.
Keno is currently securing his passport quality photos which he will include in his packet of info (G-325a, statement of intent to marry) that he will send to me in late January. He should have them within the week.
To everyone who supports us, thank you very much - you have no idea how much kind words and support means to us.
To those who wish us ill or dislike us because of our sexuality, please just avoid posting inflammatory comments and leave us be - that's all we ask and we do wish you the best of luck on your journey to bring your loved one to the US.

Honestly, and without trying to be disrespectful, you should try to figure out what to do with your current situation- finding out that you have a child- and make sure that is taken care of. It's not your fault that you didn't know and whatever happened before can't be changed, but what you decide to do from know on is your responsability. If that kid is your child, then you are responsible for him/ her. Pal, you seem to have bigger issues now that meeting your russian girlfriend and getting her a visa. Kids first.
    Good luck.

Most everything you've said helped you see she "isn't" scamming you, are signs that she is.. sort of. Responses in red above.
Honestly, it will look suspicious. She's screwed herself by marrying this guy. She needs to prove the marriage is legit to get a GC through him.
If she were to divorce him she wouldn't be able to marry you until at least a year (that's my guess) later to make it look less suspicious, and even if she didn't wait to marry you, she'd at least need to wait a while before filing for the GC.
It's a mess honestly. I'm sure you really like her but there are so many reasons not to stay with her. I'm not one to say NEVER date and alien, but I have before in Australia. I never thought about his status at all. I knew he was there on a student visa, I never thought about how he'd stay. I think if we'd stayed together and he was going to leave shortly I might have married him to keep him in the country... but knowing what I know now - h*ll to the no (have you read the I-864 that you'll need to sign?)
I suggest you leave her to deal with her own immigration issues. Don't get involved because it can end up real ugly. Take the time apart to think about whether you'd really want to stay in a relationship with someone who has no issues committing fraud (i.e. breaking the law) to get what she wants. That shows her character right there.
That's my opinion anyway. You might not be being used ENTIRELY for a GC, but she started dating you because you were American and she COULD get a GC.

I think she is desperate to get a green card to stay in US by hook or by crook.
"she told me she had a marriage set up to help her get her green card but she cancelled it because of our relationship." showed that she would go along with plan if you didn't show up in her life.
In fact, she did find "a friend of a friend" to get married when you didn't want to jump into her plan of marriage for green card.
Now she has buyer's remorse, probably hoping you would bail her out which you are now trying to do.
If she truly loves you (not just for green card purposes), let her clear out her own mess first.
Then wait and let the relationship develop, take the "getting her a green card to stay" out of the equation, even if it means that she has to return home after her work visa expires.
You could always petition for her to come back to US as fiancee / spouse later on.
I was on a work visa too when I met my BF (now husband).
I never thought of pressuring him to get married asap because "hey honey, my work visa is expiring soon!!!".
Instead I went home, and developed the relationship over long distance and different zone.
I hope you don't get manipulated into doing something you might regret later in your life. If in doubts, don't do it.

That is an incredibly sad story. But, it does put alarm bells.
How sure are you that she really wants to marry you for love? How sure are you about wanting to marry her for love and not because you want to "rescue" her from the problem she is now in?
Your country's immigration laws were put in place to protect you, too. Remember that once you become the petitioner for someone's visa application, you are liable for anything and everything she does.

Good to see the GOP is comfortable with clinging to the one demographic they have left - the white male. The women, the minorities, screw em! Clearly it worked very well for them in November and they're eager to do it all over again next election season. I can't wait.

No, I get that from reading your daily posts. You repeat those terms frequently. And your use of those terms generally starts in your original post. I don't have a special name for people who who are against the constitution. Perhaps I should follow your lead and call them ignorant, uneducated, cave dwelling, incest loving, banjo loving, trailer trash conservatives? I'll bet I'd win lots of people over to my way of thinking.

Really? How does this story parallel the CO theatre shooting? How does it bolster the armed citizen argument?
Was this gunman in body armor?
Did this gunman have multiple assault, or assault type guns?
Was it just your average citizen with a gun who stopped this shooter?
Not seeing your big gotcha here?

I have read in other threads, that it gives the IO the perception that you are already married, and will deny you for the K-1. I have not read of anyone actually being denied. However, you have to look at it as a stranger looking at your relationship. They only have what you provided to make a determination of your relationship.

OP didn't ask for you to give her your opinion about her marriage, its obvious from what she wrote that she isn't happy with her husband. Stick to the subject matter and give her the answer to her question not your opinion or advice on a marriage you know nothing about. It's amazing how she wrote details for her reasons why but somehow all one could get out of that was he was 'internet viewing".
I don't think if you found your wife on the internet looking for casual sex , you would call it browsing..... ay?

okay thanks. didn't know i needed help.
if you're worried about the fate of our species, maybe you should look into all the mass killings that occur all over the world in the name of religions. surely widespread violence and the resulting poverty/ambivalence to living poses a significant threat to our survival as a species in comparison to some hypothetical babies who won't be born to deviants..

A lady next door getting raped and robbed is in danger and having her rights being taken away against her will. That's a bit different than two consenting adults in a relationship harming no one. These extreme examples you come up with just reinforce how stupid your argument is.
