Does anyone have any advice or experience with similar situation? Background: my wife (petitioner for me) is a dual US and Canadian citizen, and relocated to US and is going to school and working there, while I am still here in Canada waiting for immigration process. For the moment, she is still a factual resident of Canada and must file both Canadian and US tax returns. How do we treat her 401k contributions and health insurance premiums at her current job on Canadian taxes? Can she claim deductions or credits for these things in this situation, as far as Canada goes?

Why can’t USCIS reuse biometrics taken at consular interview? |

Question in the title. My fianc and I will be adjusting his status from a K1 once he moves here in June. I understand that this will take quite long because of the current backlog at USCIS and ASCs. I also know that biometrics have to be taken at a local field office before the EAD is issued. My question is - if k1 applicants have to do biometrics/fingerprints at their consular interview, why do they have to take biometrics again during the AOS process? I imagine this would free up a lot of resources and shorten the processing time for EAD. I know TPS applicants reuse biometrics but why can t the same be done for K1? It s so inefficient to do biometrics twice

Hello VJ! I hold a GC that I obtained last August. I am Canadian and returning to the US for work shortly. We just sent off my wife's GC application over a month ago and received confirmation that it is processing. Is it unwise to have her come visit me in the USA if she does not have a job ready for her? Has anyone here had experience with their spouse visiting them in the US while their Visa application is still processing/ Thank you!
