My husband arrived here on a K1 on June 4th and we promptly got married and he called the local SSA office for an appointment after we sent our AOS papers. We waited until they had his records in their system and he received his social security appointment on June 24th. Ever since then, we ve been waiting for his social security card. It s been 4 weeks now and they told us it would only take 2-3 weeks. He called last week and they told him that they re still verifying his info with DHS and it should arrive this week. When it didnt arrive, he called again today and no one picked up so he left a voicemail. Has this happened to anyone else? Is the SSA office just horribly backlogged because of Covid like everything else is?

| Petitioner filed I130 while living outside of US, now moving back… |

Hi there, My wife and I got married in March 2021 and filed for the I130 in May 2021. We were both living in Canada at the time. My wife has now bought a house in the US and is moving back to be closer to her family in the hope that I can join her soon. In the meantime, it is my understanding that I can visit her for a maximum of 6 months per year which I intend to do multiple 3-weeks stay. I have a well paid job in Canada so I believe I will be able to show I have no intent of staying in the US. I am wondering whether letting USCIS know that my wife (who filed the I130) has now moved back to the US will in any way speed up the process? Do petitioners living in the US have any priority over those living abroad? Also, is there any way to spend more time in the United States with my wife while waiting for the I130 to be processed? Other than a B2 visitor visa? Any information would help. Thanks again

Hello! My husband and I had our AOS interview on Feb 24, 2021 in Jacksonville. All went well, and they were reviewing our case. On March 23 we got an RFE for a new medical. I did my medical in Canada in Sept 2019 right before they updated the forms so they wanted a new medical on new forms. I got the new medical right away and sent it in the mail, USPS said it was signed for at USCIS on April 13. My online case status still says "A request for additional evidence was sent." I've read in some places the average response time to an RFE is 90 days, is that true with interview RFEs as well? I'm wondering what my next steps should be as it makes me nervous they never even acknowledged receiving my RFE response. I was thinking of submitting an online service request? Help what should I do (if anything).
